I am wondering what the best colony is in others opinion. Whether it is for the great shop the colony has, the perfect mate, the location on the map, or whatever other things you could think of.
I will start by saying that I like Forest the best, mainly because it is near the sea.

Though I like all the colonies, the Mystic Colony is my favorite. Oracle gives you daily predictions about the weather, plus there's Krampy.

Forest- Best mate options (opinionated), very friendly enviroment, good position
Mountain: Very good mate options (opinionated) generous cats ( they give very rare gifts ) ok position with good hunting grounds
Mystic:Very cool friends ( opinionated) best doctor of all, good exploration grounds.
I suggest forest or mystic at first

Forest gives good gifts too. Mostly cardinals and catnip.

Why do you need daily weather predictions though? I've noticed prey tends to not run as well on rainy/foggy/snowy days, so knowing beforehand that it's going to be bad weather helps you to know "hey I should stock up on prey today, while the prey's still running!" |

But if you have a hig enough hunting, prey is easy to catch anyway.

Why is it that the colony I like the most is losing the most ;-;. 16 people have given their answers on the poll, yet havent explained why they chose what they did?

I prefer Mystic. I like the location: plenty of easy prey (frogs) to catch, close to the beach, camp entrance layout is nice, and lots of water so I can try to catch fish. I like the locals even some that players find unapproachable. I love the metaphysical element to the characters and location. It just feels...right.
I recently started a save in Forest Colony and it feels so foreign to me. I've actually had moments that I just never went home all night because it feels too weird.

Forest is closer to more fish and to the beach... all people are nice in it besides Missy... I'd say it's about equal. I won't argue the Forest Colony isn't full of nice cats but it feels too nice. I kinda like some edge to my characters. This isn't to say the Mystic Colony is full of snarky and rude cats but they feel more...dynamic and not just polite/nice. Krampy, Nil, and Oracle are kinda "off" though not outright rude, Alisa is stand-offish due to their title, Mossie kinda has their own thing going on, while Slip and Savannah are the only "nice from the start" cats in that colony. I know that sounds weird but I'm just not used to them yet I suppose. I've put over 30 hours as a Mystic Colony cat while I think I've barely hit over an hour for my Forest Colony cat. Things could change. |

I think that, whatever the persons first colony they pick is, that is the colony that they feel most attached to.

I did pick Mystic Colony first, and I like it a lot, although I couldn't tell you why. lol That being said, I can't really decide which one I like most. Forest Colony has the best-looking camp; I really do like how natural it looks, with the briars surrounding the camp and the dens made out of bushes. Missy is a jerk, although I'm guessing she becomes less of one if you get to know her more. The real reason Forest Colony ranks its lowest for me, though, is Doc. His... "happy" face is frightening. Mountain Domain is nice, and I like its location. It's easy to find hares and rabbits around it, which are the occupants' favs. I like Robin and Arthur--and the latter is my favorite cat in the whole game. What bothers me (and I understand why this is, don't get me wrong) is that your den there takes on the grassy appearance of a natural den, and it kind of breaks the immersion a little. But, the Mountain Domain also gets bonus points since Delta sells two of my favorite coats: silver tabby and blue turquoise. Mystic Colony cats are rather interesting, although perhaps one of my favorite parts of Mystic Colony is the lake in the center, that freezes over in winter and lets me slide about. Then Slip asks me why I've been darting across town LOL. Alisa is nice, Oracle is weird, but I suppose the real MVP of the mystic colony is Krampy and their tl;drs/rabbit trails about their old friend Ducky. |
