Thank you, thank you. I always figured that I would have Daisy say "meow" a lot in her dialog, but while writing, I realized that, she's a dog, a dog's whole thing is their sense of smell. I mean, cats have a good sense of smell too, but dogs are known for it. Also, I am going to base her personality off of my sister's irl dog, Buffy --who, like Daisy, is a Cavalier. So Daisy will also say "What?" a lot because my family like to think that Buffy says "What? Buffy?" all the time. Yeah, we pretend the dogs can talk, don't question it. Anyway, again, thank you, for saying this. It helps to know that people like what I've written, especially since I want to be a real author one day, not just someone who is making a mod for a game about cats, and the mod is about a dog who is pretending to be a cat. Not that that isn't great, of course, but still. Again, thank you. And I really need to download you and Silverhart's NPCs, at some point, when yours are updated. No pressure, of course. But yeah. thank you.
I'm not gonna question people pretending their dogs talk. My own dog has an amazing grasp of English, it's to the point where we can have basic conversations-she sometimes scares me. Dogs are smarter than we give them credit for. But it sounds like you've paid attention to Buffy's personality quite well for this. The mod is honestly great practice, though. You've basically been given a prompt that you have to work with-like an assignment. You're writing things outside of what you normally would write. Not only that, but it allows you to get practice on things like art and coding. Modding for Cattails has helped me learn a few things for my own projects. On top of that, modding can be a nice escape if you need a break from your more "serious" work. Looks like Daisy is coming along. Just realized that her art is full body...and you're making great use of that by showing off her body language. Yeah, I agree. My mom's dog, Yumi, is very smart, and is able to learn things very quickly. She often surprises me. I've always had dreams about making my own game someday, but I always thought "Coding looks too hard". In fact, I rarely touched File Explorer, afraid that I would mess something up. And, when I first started looking on the Cattails Forums and found that people were making mods, I then had dreams about making my own. But still, I thought to myself, "Coding looks too hard. I wouldn't be able to do that. Those people are geniuses". But, I realized that there was the Community Content Documentation. And soon after, I found Silverhart's guide. And I realized "Wait. It's not that hard. I can do that, if I try." And I did, and doing NPC mods not only made me more sure of myself when it came to computers, it also allowed me to start doing digital art, which I also had always wanted to do, but was never able to. Anyway, this whole ramble is basically me saying that getting into modding has done a lot of good for me, and it was one of the best decisions I ever made.
Thank you! I wanted to challenge myself with the portraits this time around, instead of making them all be one pose with different expressions, like I did with Sasson. Also, I feel like dogs express their emotions with their whole body, and though cats do too, cats' body language is more subtle. That's why, when people are scratched by their cats, they're all like "But they never warned me!!! It was out of the blue!!! So sudden!!!" Anyway, I figured it would be interesting to make the art more different for each portrait, and to, again, challenge myself a bit more.

I've done more work on Daisy. Her Playful Portrait is now finished!
Also, I have done more work on her dialog, I now just need to finish the main friendship dialog thingies.
Finally, I have started and completed Daisy's den.
Ah!!!! I love Daisy so much <3 Thank you! <3

Yumi sounds very lovely! Okay, as a game dev, I got news for you...yes, coding is hard, but there are certain programs that basically do the code for you. I use Construct 3, and now I have an almost complete game. Hell, Cattails was made using GameMaker Studio-which, while you can do some coding if you want, it usually does the coding for you. Pretty sure Undertale was even made with GameMaker. I will say that I strongly prefer Construct 3 because it's considerably more organized than GameMaker, and also more powerful/efficient, but do what suits you. Regardless, it's worth a try. In other news, Silverhart's a real MVP Yeah, if I may be honest, Daisy's portraits are definitely stronger-not that Sasson's are bad or anything, but you're improved-especially since this is your start with digital art. You've been pushing yourself and it shows. You should be proud of yourself.

Thank you! I definitely agree. Though I do like Sasson's portraits, Daisy's are definitely higher quality. Thank you, again.

Let me know if you need help with Construct 3. GameMaker, uh...good luck with that. XD (Fair warning, these are almost exclusively 2D. But 3D is hard.) You're welcome!

Okay, some more things to say:
I've written more dialog. She just needs friendship rank four dialog, and unique dialog, if I plan on adding any.
I've tested Daisy's den, and it looks good.
I've drawn another portrait --the Sad one:
I've got a good idea for all of the other portaits. INCLUDING the Special Portrait. But I won't share these plans yet
Daisy also needs a schedule. I've set the Festival schedule stuff in, but I still need to do the rest.
I also want to try out Events with Daisy. I've got a couple ideas. And if I manage to figure it out, then I'll add an event or two for Sasson as well.
That's about all for now. To end this, I'll give another sneak peek at Daisy's dialog: "lang_npc_friendship_rank_two_1": "[neutral] What? #npc_name_daisy#?", "lang_npc_friendship_rank_two_2": "[happy] [gray](#npc_name_daisy# is chewing happily on a stick. They don't notice you.)[/gray]", "lang_npc_friendship_rank_two_3": "[thinking] What? What's that smell?///Do you smell something odd, #leader_title_capitalized#? I keep smelling it, but I can't figure out what it is!", "lang_npc_friendship_rank_two_4": "[shocked] What? Huh? Meow? Sorry, I think I saw a #item_name_squirrel#.///[happy] There it is!///[gray](#npc_name_daisy# starts running in a random direction, their tail wagging.)[/gray] ", "lang_npc_friendship_rank_two_5": "[sad] I'm kind of lonely today, meow...///[playful] Can you stay here and play?",

Update:
I finished the regular dialog.
I gave Daisy a letter she can send.
I edited her bundle a bit.
And, finally, I made her Happy Portrait: I trouble with this one, couldn't decide what pose I wanted her to be in. I'm pretty happy with this, even if she looks a little like she's about to tip over.

I guess if it helps, usually when dogs hold that position they sit on their butts. It helps them keep their position, some.
But this is cute! Again, loving the variety of poses you have going on.

Yeah, I originally had Daisy sitting while drawing it, but I'm not good at drawing sitting animals from three-quarter view, so I switched it to her standing, as Buffy does that sometimes.
Thank you!

This is adorable! I love the progress of this! Thank you! Daisy's pretty close to being finished, mostly it's just the Portraits that are waiting, along with a few tweaks to Daisy's dialog and schedule (And unique dialog and events, but I'll probably release Daisy before those, at least before events, as they seem pretty time-consuming, but we'll see).
