Alright, I've done a bit of modding for Daisy! But now I've run into a problem. I copied the "npcs" folder from my Sasson mod into my Daisy mod, and renamed the meta file and the lang file and all that, but now my Sasson mod won't load "Due to file conflict." Does anyone know what caused this, and how to fix it? I'm new to modding but maybe you forgot to change the name or something?

I renamed some of stuff, but maybe I should rename the portraits and the icon? I'll see if that works. Edit: IT WORKED! Yay! Thank you so much for helping, jessewashere!

Marriageable NPC? What happens if the player has kids with Daisy? I'm planning on Daisy not being marriageable, as two such different species marrying each other is weird to me. But you will be able to befriend Daisy! But what if you married her and had a kid called catdog

Anyone still here?
Sooo....I know I haven't posted in this thread in a while. For those who might have been wondering, yes, I still plan to work on Daisy. I haven't in a while simply because I lost motivation. But, I've started to get some back, so I've been working on Daisy a bit more.
First, I've started drawing Daisy's Playful Portrait. It's not much, but I have been working on it. Another thing to note: I recently got an actual drawing tablet, so I don't have to use a mouse anymore, but I'm still getting used to drawing with it. So it might be a bit before the portrait is finished.
Second, I've worked some more on Daisy's dialog. I got the Buddy dialog done, and the gift dialog done, not counting the Black and Red Rose or Shiny Trinket dialog. "lang_npc_love_item_dialog": "[thinking]What? What is this?///[shocked] It's...for me? Really?///[happy] Thank you! Thank you, #leader_title_capitalized#! It smells so nice, meow!", "lang_npc_like_item_dialog": "[happy] For me? Really? Wow! Thanks, meow! It smells real good.", "lang_npc_neutral_item_dialog": "[neutral] Thanks #leader_title_capitalized#, meow.", "lang_npc_dislike_item_dialog": "[thinking] Hm? For me?//...Thanks? Meow?///[gray](#npc_name_daisy# makes a face as they mutter something about how to get the smell out of their nose)[/gray]", "lang_npc_hate_item_dialog": "[shocked] What? What is this?///[thinking] It's...for me? Really?///[angry] Umm, well, I don't like this, I really don't, it doesn't smell very good...", (Here's some of Daisy's gift dialog)
Well, I just wanted to tell y'all that I'm still working on Daisy, and she will, hopefully, be done soon. Maybe. No promises. Um, anyway, thanks for your support!

Look, man. Working on mods is a lot of fun, but it's a lot of work too...it's pain in the ass at times. I'd love to make a mod for my cat who passed two months ago, but I should really update my current mods first. And I should update my current mods, but...I work. I need money.
Just take your time and don't burn yourself out-don't want that. If you would like-and if you haven't already, you can make a schedule for yourself regarding when things need to be done. Or, just slow down. No shame in that, okay? From what I've seen you've done plenty of good work, too-I like these dialogues you've shared.

Thank you for such a supportive reply--I know you've been having to put off working on your own mods because of life. I definitely agree, we all need to take a break sometimes, or try to get organized. Unfortunately, I'm rather terrible of organizing what needs to be done, as I'm a tad lazy around certain things, and even when I'm like "Okay, I'll look something up on the computer later" I always forget. But, anyway... I'm a naturally social person, and I like telling stories and making people happy, so making NPC mods is a good way to do that, especially because I don't get out of the house much. But, I've been having trouble writing the dialog for Daisy because I realized I wasn't sure what their personality would be. I think I have it down now, but doing something creative is hard work sometimes, and I need to slow down in those times, like you said. Lastly, but certainly not least--Thank you for saying you like the dialog! I'm rather proud of it, now that I have a hold on Daisy's personality. It really warms my heart to come on here and see people enjoying my mods, or simply liking what I've done so far. So, thank you for your kind reply, and thank you to anyone reads through this ramble lol. I appreciate it.

Could help to write things down, I suppose. Maybe put a reminder on your phone. But ultimately, you just gotta do what works for you. You've got one thing figured about Daisy's dialogue, and that's her manner of speech-her dialect. Of course, I only see five lines here, but...she says "meow" and she focuses on smell, even when she talks. One thing I like is when characters all sound different-and that's a neat thing about these mods. Different writers for different characters, so they'll sound different. You're writing a dog disguised as a cat, Silverhart wrote a medieval knight, I wrote a suicidal stoner...of course the three of them are gonna talk differently from each other! It makes sense. Different upbringings, different locations, different educations, different slang...people sound different from each other. So yeah, Daisy sounds like someone actually talking, like a dog disguised as a cat. It's neat.

I always figured that I would have Daisy say "meow" a lot in her dialog, but while writing, I realized that, she's a dog, a dog's whole thing is their sense of smell. I mean, cats have a good sense of smell too, but dogs are known for it. Also, I am going to base her personality off of my sister's irl dog, Buffy --who, like Daisy, is a Cavalier. So Daisy will also say "What?" a lot because my family like to think that Buffy says "What? Buffy?" all the time. Yeah, we pretend the dogs can talk, don't question it. Anyway, again, thank you, for saying this. It helps to know that people like what I've written, especially since I want to be a real author one day, not just someone who is making a mod for a game about cats, and the mod is about a dog who is pretending to be a cat. Not that that isn't great, of course, but still. Again, thank you. And I really need to download you and Silverhart's NPCs, at some point, when yours are updated. No pressure, of course. But yeah. thank you.

I've done more work on Daisy. Her Playful Portrait is now finished!
Also, I have done more work on her dialog, I now just need to finish the main friendship dialog thingies.
Finally, I have started and completed Daisy's den.

I'm not gonna question people pretending their dogs talk. My own dog has an amazing grasp of English, it's to the point where we can have basic conversations-she sometimes scares me. Dogs are smarter than we give them credit for. But it sounds like you've paid attention to Buffy's personality quite well for this. The mod is honestly great practice, though. You've basically been given a prompt that you have to work with-like an assignment. You're writing things outside of what you normally would write. Not only that, but it allows you to get practice on things like art and coding. Modding for Cattails has helped me learn a few things for my own projects. On top of that, modding can be a nice escape if you need a break from your more "serious" work. Looks like Daisy is coming along. Just realized that her art is full body...and you're making great use of that by showing off her body language.
