OMG I'm so glad Arthur is being modded in! He was one of my top 4 back in the original, and I can't wait to see him again! The art for him looks incredible too!!

Quick little update to catch Arthur up to the latest game update! You can now buddy up with them, and they have unique dialogue for weddings! This mod contains the Arthur npc folder, 1 buildings folder, 1 furniture folder, 1 mail folder, 1 map folder, and one tasks folder, plus 1 icon file, 9 portrait files, and English language files *(Note that you’ll need Chaucer's Chandlery installed if you want Arthur’s den to display properly as that file contains all the furniture data. Be sure to replace your old copy of Arthur’s files with this new one.) This mod works with Alpha v1.00 This mod contains the Arthur npc folder, 1 buildings folder, 1 furniture folder (with 17 items and their sprites), 1 mail folder, 1 map folder, and one tasks folder, plus 1 icon file, 9 portrait files, and English language files This mod works with Alpha v.1.00

Another update to the Arthur mod! This one has the new bundle folder, so Arthur can be recruited from the Guardian's pillar in new saves. Additionally Arthur now has things to say about your little ones, and a few other new lines of dialogue, for added flavor. If you don't want to have to wait to unlock Arthur, you can simply remove the bundles folder from the NPC files. This mod contains the Arthur npc folder, 1 buildings folder, 1 furniture folder, 1 mail folder, 1 map folder, 1 bundles folder and 1 tasks folder, plus 1 icon file, 9 portrait files, and English language files *(Note that you’ll need Chaucer's Chandlery installed if you want Arthur’s den to display properly as that file contains all the furniture data. Be sure to replace your old copy of Arthur’s files with this new one.)This mod works with Beta v.0.20 This mod contains the Arthur npc folder, 1 buildings folder, 1 furniture folder (with 17 items and their sprites), 1 mail folder, 1 map folder, 1 bundles folder and 1 tasks folder, plus 1 icon file, 9 portrait files, and English language files This mod works with Beta v.0.20
As always, let me know how the mod goes and if you encounter any problems!
I also may or may not be working on an idea for a new original NPC to mod in... no promises yet, but I've been kicking some ideas around.

Hey, I recently downloaded these mods to try out and I absolutely love it!! Arthur's dialogue is really cool and I love that they can be found further away from camp as well. The amount of new furniture is kinda baffling to me tbh, can't imagine how much work already went into these mods. I did find a little spelling mistake with Chaucer (my beloved, they look so cool hh) here with the word "quality".

Thanks for pointing out that typo! I made a note to myself so will fix as soon as I get the chance.
And yeah, I kept having new ideas for new furniture, so it turned out to be quite a bit. There just weren't a lot of medieval style items I could use to decorate Arthur's den in game, so I made some, and then I ended up making more... and a few more... It's honestly really fun to make items in the game.

What if it wasn't a typo, Chaucer just likes quail and making quail puns? (its a head canon now at least xD)

Hey Silverhart, awesome mods! Would you mind if I downloaded Chaucer's mod and made them dateable/marriageable? If you're not ok with that, that's absolutely fine with me. I would give you credit and try to stay close to Chaucer's original personality, and when the mod releases you can suggest or ask for any changes! I just want to experiment with an NPC that's already been modded, and think it would be fun to try out!

I would give you credit and try to stay close to Chaucer's original personality, and when the mod releases you can suggest or ask for any changes! I just want to experiment with an NPC that's already been modded, and think it would be fun to try out! I'm flattered that you'd ask! I've actually wanted to expand Chaucer for a while, but it's gone on the backburner while I work on other projects and mods. Regardless, you're welcome to make a mod based off Chaucer (a mod of a mod?)!
In general I don't have any problems with people messing with my mods in their own games as much as they want! Or using the code as a template. Go nuts!
As far as sharing those modified mods: All I ask is that credit is given for art/writing/characters I've done, and that it's clearly labeled as a separate mod so folks can differentiate between mods easily, and that it doesn't contain anything hateful/harmful. And asking for permission is also appreciated, so thank you! ^^ (oh, and that the art/writing isn't used outside the game itself of course!)
My main concern would be with it potentially messing with things if people downloaded the Chaucer mod from me and from you or another modder. As long as there are clear instructions given it should be fine. Usually if there are two mods with the same name things get a little weird. And I know Chaucer specifically has a lot going on with tons of items and their shop. So just be careful with that!
Either way, I'd love to hear how it goes! I definitely have my own ideas regarding Chaucer and I think it would be interesting to see another person's take on them, especially because there really isn't a whole lot to go off of at the moment!
On another note, I definitely should've posted this earlier, but I forgot. XP I have an NPC Modding Guide in progress, so it might help you out (or anyone who wants to create an NPC). It can be found here. Maybe that will be helpful as well.

Alright! That sounds great! Hopefully I'll set up some instructions on double modding or find a workaround for it. And again, if I can get it working, please let me know if there's anything you want/need me to change! ^^

And again, if I can get it working, please let me know if there's anything you want/need me to change! ^^ It's certainly doable - I know I have two separate mods for Arthur available depending on if you want to have Chaucer in your game or not. Been a bit of confusion around it sometimes. If you have trouble deleting or replacing a certain mod it's usually solved by turning off SteamCloud, if that helps. If you have SteamCloud turned on, edits to an existing mod might just be overwritten, so make sure you have a backup or that that's turned off.

Alright, I've started work on the mod! I'll be sharing a first draft soon so you can take a look and tell me what you think. I haven't had any problems with SteamCloud yet, but I'll make sure to take your advice. One comment on your NPC Modding Guide: First of all, this is AMAZINGLY helpful! I had no idea on how to do half of the things you discussed in the document. I've read through it a lot and I'm really grateful for such an in-depth guide! I had one suggestion for something you could add in: the way I make adding NPC icons easier is: 1. I create a character with my NPC's coat, eye color, body shapes, accessories, etc. Then I find my character's birthday on the calendar. 2. I take a screenshot (usually through Windows' Snipping Tool) and try to cut as close to the icon as possible without cutting out any of the pixel outline. 3. I load the screenshot into my drawing app (FireAlpaca), center it as much as I can, and use the pixel brush to cut out all the beige around the icon. With a better drawing app, you might be able to easily erase the beige and simply skip the pixel erasing step. I don't think you can do this as easily if you're not using a PC, but I've found it to be pretty fast to do once you get the hang of it, and I think it would be helpful to add that to your guide if you want! ^^

For the most part I chose the method I did because I found taking screenshots of the game didn't always yield the clearest or right sized images for creating the icon. I didn't try screenshoting the calendar, so worth trying it as cutting out an unnecessary step is always good.
Also happy to see another FireAlpaca user! Been using it for years. I've used other apps like Photoshop and Procreate, and they all have their strengths, but I still prefer FireAlpaca - all of my item and character art were done in that program.

Yup, FireAlpaca was the first digital art program I've tried, and I've stuck with it since!
