I’ll preface this by disclaiming that my eyes are particularly sensitive to light, and so it’s sort of a day by day basis on how long I can stand to look at a screen.
That said, it gets a lot worse with really high contrast things - like Wacky Whiskers. I think the mini game is fun, and I like playing it, but the stark contrast of the black squares and the white background means I can’t play for more than a few minutes before I have to put away all my screens. I don’t know if it’s possible, but I think a toggleable theme for Wacky Whiskers would be nice. I’m thinking more like, a creamy background with the “pieces” being a darker brown or tan to match the rest of the game.
I’m not sure completely changing the color palette permanently is the best move since everyone’s contrast needs are different, which is why I think -if possible- having at least two options to switch between would be nice!
Hopefully this made sense!

As someone whose eyes are also sensitive, I was just talking to someone about colorblindness. Soooooo...I think the most accommodating thing to do would be toggleable themes, because eyes are sensitive to different things, and there are different types of color blindness.
Of course, this is an obscure minigame as an easter egg, so putting it in settings might be a spoiler. Is there anything else that could have a toggleable theme, that other players might struggle to see at the moment? I guess one thing could be the menus and dialogues, but I dunno. Alternatively have an NPC that changes the theme for this minigame in particular, but...hmm.
These are just my two cents, though-I'm not Falcon.

Oh maybe it could be an option when talking to the Entity!
The only other thing I can think of is just that foraging might be harder depending on someone’s color blindness… but that would affect the whole world probably. I’m not colorblind though so I can say much on that.
The only other thing I can think of is that the inventory slots are white, at least in storage, so maybe that could be toggled to keep the surprise…?

yes, please please falcon add an option to make the headlamp in caves less bright, more blurry at the sides. the intense contrast hurts my eyes. i love this game and would love to be able to mine for longer without my eyes hurting so much!
