I prefer playing games windowed (fullscreen can sometimes mess things up) and it's a little bit annoying that the game always starts in fullscreen even if I change it to windowed after. Is there a way to make it launch in windowed mode? I don't see anything in the settings about it... If it's not a feature then it should be! :0

Hi! The game detects your previous preference and attempts to launch in that style (windowed or full.) By default the game launches in windowed if it detects no preference. Try this: 1. Launch the game, set to Windowed mode from the in-game menus 2. Load any save file and Save your progress. This will write your full/windowed preference to the settings file. 3. Exit the game. On next launch it should (hopefully!) launch in windowed mode.
A few other ideas if that doesn't work! 1. Is your monitor resolution exactly 1280x800? If so the game may think you are playing on a Steam Deck and launch fullscreen anyways 2. You may have a corrupted settings.dat file. Before launching, try navigating to %LOCALAPPDATA%/Cattails_Wildwood_Story and deleting settings.dat

Just tried these and they unfortunately didn't work. It doesn't seem like a settings issue... Now the game launches in windowed mode first, but when the loading screen finishes and the animated scene starts, it switches itself to fullscreen. (My screen resolution is 2880x1800, so that shouldn't be a problem)

MacOS 12.7 Thank you! Do you know what resolution you are running? If the game detects a resolution of less than 1280x720px it will auto-fullscreen as 720p is the minimum supported resolution.

Not quite sure, since I usually resize the window slightly after un-fullscreening it. It shouldn't be smaller than 2000x1500 though.
