As a backer whose had access to both the alpha and betas, I have two main questions for Falcon Development that I have yet to seen asked or be answered yet.
The first question is something that has been on my mind for months, and thats in regards to the kickstarter NPCs from the original game. According to the Cattails wiki, Krampy was a kickstarter backer created character. However, for some reason, he is the only one to be added so far. I also found it somewhat odd that he was given a plush for the reason of him being a kickstarter character. Is he actually a kickstarter character? And if so, will the other kickstarter charcters, such as Mossie, Sarge, Slip, etc be added in the future? My guess was that they would be the kits in rival marriages but if Cattails Wildwood is directly tied to the lore of the original Cattails as opposed to being a spinoff this wouldn't make sense. Thoughts on this?
Also another question that's a lot more minor. I know the game is in development, and as such many items haven't been added yet. I was curious as to whether or not we would get access to adding cliffs or leveled areas when creating towns? And, similarly, if a waterfall item would be added akin to one piece in the territory where a waterfall is present? Mainly asking because there is a kingdom i have had where ive had to emulate cliffs with pathing and I would love to add actual cliffs to it in the future.
Thank you for your time!

Hey! I'd be happy to answer your questions.
1. Krampy is very near and dear to our hearts. They are indeed a Kickstarter-backer-created-NPC, but the creator is a friend of mine (and former roommate) who I keep in touch with, so we naturally talked about if Krampy could make it into the sequel when we started development. As for why Krampy was chosen for the plush/certain marketing materials, Krampy is distinctly "Cattails"; if we chose pretty much any other cat from the game for the plush, for instance, it would just look like a generic cat plush. That beaky mask is quite unique! 2. Cliffs in the Build Menu were originally planned (and about 80% implemented at one point!) However, we ultimately decided against providing this tool as it complicated the NPC schedule pathing considerably. A waterfall decor item could technically be added but at this point with no cliffs it wouldn't be easy to place in a good spot.

Thank you so much for getting back to me! I greatly appreciate it. 1. That makes a lot of sense! I adore Krampy too, and I'm so glad to own a plush of him now. He's always been one of my favorite characters and I'm glad yall love him too. The main reason I was confused was because he was the only kickstarter character added, but you guys being former roomates is not only super cool but makes sense as to why Krampy would be included! Also I never considered that reasoning for him being chosen as the plush! Im sighing rn just thibking about generic looking cat plushies (cough warriors cough). Thanks for clearing that up! 2. Damn, that sucks that it interfered with NPC pathing . I'm not surpised though, coding the NPC pathing must have taken a long time to get right. I cant even imagine how much work that'd be, much less with rival marriage kittens being added in the future. Oh well, I'll work with my emulated cliffs. I still think they look pretty good and do a good job giving off the idea of there being cliffs there. Tbh I like having certain challenges when creating things in games to try and make them look a certain way with only whats presented (im one of those suckers who barely mods games for a reason lol. Vanilla ice cream for me, please.) But yeah, tysm again! So excited to see these updates and await the final version of the game. Ive been having a total blast over the last half a year or so. Even just the alpha alone was a huge step up from Cattails 2017, and an absolute sprint away from Untold Tales. I have loved seeing you guys improve as a developer over the years and i'm so glad to be apart of this journey. Have a great weekend!
