Currently trying to create the npc dens for my ocs and I'm wondering if there is an easier way to decorate the inside. I know the walls and other things are easy but for items I'm wondering if there is a shortcut in getting them decorated.

What I did for Arthur's den was to build it in the game first as my own den. Get all the decorations in the right place and oriented correctly, and save your game.
From there open up your save file (should be in the same folder you find/create your mod file: %LOCALAPPDATA%/Cattails_Wildwood_Story/saves ) The save file will have all the information on the objects you place, where they're placed and how they're placed. Look for "furniture_layout_list": followed by a list of items like this: { "uid": "fireflyjar", "direction": 2.0, "x": 416.0, "y": 832.0 },
You just take that info and plug that into the code for your NPC den's furniture. The only problem is the direction, which in the savefile is saved as a number, but in the NPC den is a word. Here's how I worked out the comparison:
0.0 = north
1.0 = east
2.0 = south
3.0 = west
It's a bit of an extra hassle, but it's doable, especially once you get the hang of it. I do hope we find or get a slightly easier way of doing it, but this method worked for me. I also suggest checking on things several times if you have a lot of furniture and decoration to put in the den. It's easy to accidentally miss a number or get the dimensions of the den wrong (which I did the first time), so I suggest loading up the game and checking the den periodically while you work if there's a lot of decorating you want to do.

Thank you so much!! I’ve been trying to move things based on the tile location of where my character is at. It’s been driving me up the wall. Mainly because I don’t think the tile locations are the same. So I’ve been moving one thing then closing. And doing that in repeat.
Probably to do this I’ll just make another safe file and then get coins and do it from there so I don’t mess with my current den which has all my custom npcs in.

You can also copy save files when you go to start a new game! Easier then starting from scratch if your current game already has enough mews for the job.

I tried that strategy, but it's not working

I'm happy to try and help. What's not working exactly? Are items in the wrong place?
