Thought I'd comment on the new buddy system and the traits. And, of course, what it says about our wonderful cast of friends:
Alabaster: Featuring the Delicate and Hardy traits, it seems Alabaster's experience at gardening means they excel at finding better herbs while avoiding being poisoned. Good to bring gathering with you in case you run afoul of an adder or swarm of bees.
Bob: Lucky and Enterprising, it seems Bob just stumbles into good fortune, both in the money and chance varieties. While not great if you have a specific goal in mind, bring them if you're just going to wander about. Maybe something good'll happen?
Buttercup: Subtle and Delicate, Buttercup's lonesomeness has made them a survivor, knowing how to get better herbs and make hunts easier. Excellent for if you are on a hunting and gathering trip, especially if you need some help hunting.
Champ: Fierce and Tough, Champ's boasts are not just that. They can do some damage, both upfront and over time. The best fighter you've got, but remember that they are all damage and have little in the way of defense if they get ganged up on.
Charlotte: Keen and Lucky, though Charlotte might say its more skill than luck. They'll find the second prey hiding behind the first, along with some rarer stuff besides. This is the cat to bring if you're out looking for some rare prey and a lot of it.
Coco: Renowned and Adaptive, who hasn't heard of Coco? Their name holds weight and they're a quick study to boot. No wonder they're your right paw. If you're looking to raise some influence and rack up some extra XP while you're at it, you can trust Coco to help you out.
Elli: Caring and Vivacious, Elli is one cat that knows the value of health. They can take a beating and have a few tips and tricks to patch you up if you're looking a bit worn. If you expect to be in a lot of fights and need a cat that can endure them all and make sure you do too, Elli's the cat you want.
Ember: Enterprising and Inspiring, Ember's got a way with money and words. They can scrape up a few Mews while putting strength behind your allies' claws. Oddly enough, if you're running to the daily fights for the Mews, your shopkeeper's the one who can lend a paw.
Fliss: Delicate and Tough, Fliss has great control over their paws. They're gentle enough be able to collect better quality herbs, yet rough enough to give a voidling a smarting blow. A good cat to have if you're out and about, in case you need to collect herbs or fend something off.
Garlic: Enterprising and Adaptive, Garlic's harsh opinion of themself hides sparkling potential. They are quick to understand and tend to just stumble over caches of Mews. A great cat to bring if your looking for some XP and wouldn't mind some extra Mews while you are at it, but leave them out of something that needs a more serious touch.
Glimmer: Persistent and Hardy, Glimmer won't let a thing slow them down, let it be rock or poison. They can tear through rocks while shrugging off poison or really anything debilitating. Glimmer is THE buddy for the mines, but they tend to struggle anywhere else.
Jag: Persistent and Subtle, Jag's time in the Mountain Domain has given him quite the array of knowledge. Whether breaking rocks or hunting prey, they got more than enough experience. A good choice for mining, they'll also keep you going by making hunting easier and helping you get the drop on those bats.
Krampy: Caring and Hardy, Krampy, of course, has healing supplies on paw and the knowledge on how to keep themself toxin free. It probably involves leeches, but they can keep you standing. If you find yourself needing someone to keep you up and about while staying alive themself, especially against adders or the horrors in the mines, the doctor is in.
Lainey: Keen and Vivacious, Lainey's got the stamina and the skill. They're more than able spot the second mouse and have the endurance to keep going when others would tap out. A good pick if you find yourself hunting in dangerous areas, or hunting dangerous prey.
Phantom: Keen and Subtle, Phantom really should be chief hunter. They got the skills to sneak up on and catch two prey at once, without either knowing a thing until it's too late. If you want a paw hunting, Phantom's got everyone else beat handily.
Rosemary: Caring and Lucky, Rosemary's got a thing or two and knows a thing or two. Things just fall into Rosemary's paws and who are they to not help out an injured cat if they can? This cat's a good pick if you're lookin for rarities, but just keep getting yourself beaten up.
Spark: Fierce and Adaptive, Spark's got the spirit of a warrior. They're quick on the uptake, even learning a few techniques to take out foes and keep their friends safe. If you're looking to grind out XP in battle, have Spark watch your back.
Talon: Renowned and Inspiring, Talon's your drill sergeant, commander, and veteran all at once. Everyone knows the old fighter Talon and just seeing them on the battlefield, despite their age, encourages everyone to dig a little deeper and push a little harder. If you're marching out to battle to take control of an area, Talon is the natural choice, making the battle easier and making your victory stick.
Umbra: Fierce and Lucky, the mysterious Umbra is a voidling, if a friendly one. More than any cat, they are deeply intuned to the Wildwood and its ebbs and flows, which may just explain their otherwise inexplicable fortune. Much like their kin, Umbra is a vicious and dangerous opponent in battle, but, fortunately, they're on your side. If you're out hoping fortune will favor you and need someone to watch your back, why not the living shadow?
Zephyr: Renowned and Tough, Zephyr's famous and they earned that fame. Zephyr may be a well-known name, but they ain't no weakling, able to hold their own and then some. If fighting big battles for control isn't your style, this is the cat to help you out on your one-cat crusade.
