How fast do friendship levels go down

Hello! I'm trying to become friends with all cats in all colonies and I'm wondering if talking to them once a season is enough to keep friendship with them, and does talking to them at the festival count as talking to them normally?

If you haven't developed any friendship with them before, then talking to them once per season (at the festivals) is probably not going to be enough to build up or sustain the relationship. Your relationship goes down with a cat even just a little (though it might take a little longer to lose stars) if you don't interact with them.

Now, let's say you have 5 stars with a cat and then wait until the festivals to interact with them. Your 5 stars with them might hold for a while, but after repeatedly going without interacting with them, it's going to add up eventually. It's hard to predict how long it would take to get from 5 stars back to 2 stars. I haven't really experimented on that before.

Someone else may have a better answer than me, but this is the best I can give you I'm afraid.

Thanks! I'll try to talk to or give gifts to the cats every 5th of the season and see if that's enough to keep friendship high enough!

What I do is I visit them whenever I'm near that colony's camp anyway.
