How do you usually know when it's time to end a save file?

I've gotten married, got all the den upgrades possible, bought pretty much all the pelt colors I wanted, moved colonies, divorced my spouse, got another spouse... yeah, that's all there is to it. When do you think it's time to end a save file, and start another, because the game gets boring once you've done basically everything...

Why not create your own colony? There are a lot of ways you can design it.
