So I did this on one of my savefiles, but without defined rules. Now I'm making them!
Those Defined Rules
1. First and foremost, this story uses a different time schedule than most. You start out as six months old, and every three seasons you age one month, to make it more realistic/longer lasting.
2. Yes, it would be nice to use a white cat with blue eyes. No, you do not have to.
3. PLAY WITH THE VOLUME OFF.
4. You can "listen" to cats talk, but your character can't hear them. However, you can read what they say and let your character see their facial expressions. Your character can read lips slightly, but as they are only six months old, those skills are not very developed. So I would suggest having them discern important words, but definitely not all.
5. For your character's backstory, choose anything, but stick to these guidelines: Your character grew up in whichever colony they chose, and their colony has developed a form of sign language using their tails and facial expressions. Only a select few know this fluently, however. These select few are Coco, as well as your colony's leader and doctor. You may also choose a childhood best friend from your colony, or father/mother figure, if you want. Your character's communication with anyone else will be restricted. Perhaps other colony members know some simple signs such as "yes", "please", or "help", but not enough to hold a conversation with your character.
6. When your character reaches 9 moons, they may date. When they reach 12 moons, they may marry.
7. You may only add to your skill levels right before you sleep at the end of the day, and only skills you have used that day. If you did not swim that day, you cannot upgrade your swimming skill.
Rolls
Yes, this has rolls. This challenge is not just about the deafness, it's also, and mostly, about having fun. After you finish a roll, you may relax for the rest of the day and do what you want, including fight in the daily battles, but you may not sleep until at least 7:00 pm unless you stayed up late/didn't sleep the previous night. You may also do two rolls in a day if you wish and have time. if there is a thunderstorm, you may not go out of camp at all that day and are allowed to sleep through it. You can reroll if you get something that you have already gotten that month, until you get something you haven't.
1. Do everything you can to complete your daily task.
2. Hunt fifteen pieces of prey.
3. Fight in both of the daily battles, and do your best to win.
4. Explore, you may not go back to your camp until dark.
5. Do whatever you want to!
6. You are not feeling well today, stay in camp for the whole day. Bedtime is 5:00 pm at the earliest.
7. Go mining until you're literally about to drop dead.
8. Explore and don't go back to camp until your inventory is completely full!
9. Find 6 catnips! If winter, roll again.
10. Do anything and everything that will raise your XP.
11. Visit a different colony, give them gifts!
12. Focus on gifting others.
13. Decorate your den!
14. Work on the Main Story.
15. Visit every single tile on the map, you can make pit stops, stop if it turns 12:00 am.
16. You have gotten ill. Sleep the day away.
17. You're a little tired, relax and enjoy nature!
18. See Extreme.
19. See Extreme.
20. Roll again, this roll's not working right!
Extreme
If you rolled 18,19, or 20, look here!
18: You seem to have sprained your leg. For the first two days, stay in your den and sleep them away. For six more days, do not exit camp. For eight more days, do not exit your colony's territory. You may not roll until the 16 days have passed.
19: Uh oh, a medicine the doctor gave you for a slight cold hasn't worked right! Your pelt has changed to a different color! Choose a shocking new color for your fur, if you have no ideas then you can use PURPLESHADOW. This coat color will last until the next Festival, where Coco will present you with a way to wash it off.
