This guide deals with how to clone items and how to add items from one save file to another.

1. Go into your den. This is because you will need the save feature.
2. Select items you either want to add to a different save or duplicate.
3. Drop everything that isn't one of those items.
4. Save.
5. Go to AppData > Local > Cattails and select the file you're currently using. Double-click or double-...finger?  (I'm not a MAC user) From here, I'll explain the duplication trick.
6. Find your inventory. This is NOT the same as StorageInventory.
7. Copy your inventory.
8. Drop the item you want to clone and close the notepad.
9. Save and exit the game, but DO NOT CLOSE. I mean, you CAN close it, but it's highly unrecommended, as then it'll take longer.
10. Open the File Explorer file back up.
11. Go down to your inventory.
12. Paste and save the notepad.
13. Load your game.
14. Check your inventory, and voila, another of that item!
15. Pick the other item up.
16. Repeat steps 6-15 until your inventory is full. From there, only repeat steps 8-13.

Now, the transferring trick.

(cont. from just after step 5)
6. Open the file you want to transfer an item to.
7. Before messing with things, drop EVERYTHING in the inventory of the file you want to transfer via the game.
8. Do Step 9 of the Duplication trick.
9. Copy Inventory 1.
10. Paste to Inventory 2.
11. Save Notepad 2.
12. Open Game 2 back up.
13. Voila! Item transfer.

I used the second trick to marry Luna by Summer 6, Year 1's end.

THANK YOU!!! i unfortunately couldnt get my computer to actually search for the app data (sad emoji) but i'm trying to gather all posts with info on file editing together

that said i think it goes without saying that you should backup your saves!! falcon has said that messing with some of the saves can absolutely ruin that save (though it wont do anythign to the title screen n' stuff) so its better safe than sorry

You can obtain Nil’s horns via editing your save. It’s under accessories.

You also can change the items. The gibberish text inside the save file is actualy normal text encoded in Base64. For example: "V2ludGVyIEJsdWViZXJyaWVz" is "Winter Blueberries". There are many sites on internet that will decode/encode Base64. But be careful when modifying the files!

I was told on the Cattails Discord to open your save and scroll down to the 'accessory' section (or something like that), locate horns, and under unlocked change "MA==" to "MQ==".

To do this you'd need something like Notepad++ most likely... Don't forget to backup your save!

For your save files on Windows, go search ‘cattails’ in file explorer. There’s another string for a more accurate search but I stuck to simply searching Cattails and it works for me.

By the way, from a comment on the wiki, you can edit your saves to have your garden grow items and prey.

The more accurate way of getting to game save files is to type %AppData% click Local you should see Cattails there and then do whatever you want with it.

Nope! You can open it in just the normal notepad and edit the text.
Definitely back your saves up though. It is VERY easy to mess things up when editing these, especially if you've never done it before.

It's VERY easy to mess it up i tried giving myself something and the game would just close after trying to play with said file. So those who are new be VERY VERY CAREFUL (the file was for testing and it was just after the tutorial so i didn't lose anything important)
