Will the game ever be moddable?

I know next to nothing about modding, but I was super curious if this would ever be a thing. Is the game set up in a way that mods could be made? I feel like it would be infinitely playable if there was community-made content too :0 It's full of creative folks!

I think that could be interesting! Games like Stardew Valley have such nice mods so I wonder what that'd bring to the game.

I think it would be possible! Since it's a pixel game instead of a 3d or hand-drawn one, it'll be much easier to mod than other games. Of course, there will still be challenges, along the lines of making new levels, sprites, colonies, and basically anything else for the game, but with experience, coders and sprite designers could possibly do it.

(@ modders, if you can, try and make the mods downloadable to the game via partiality!)

I'd love a mod that makes the game both more fun and make the world more dangerous
