Custom Colony

I made a custom colony, but I don't know how to expand territory. I've battled in different territory and win every time, but I still only have my square. Help!

It just takes time, you don't claim territory in a custom colony any differently than if you were in another colony. Lavender can help you gain more influence in an area, as well as the Diplomacy active skill (if you feel like this skill isn't helping you get territory fast enough, you can upgrade it to speed things along)! Additionally, if you are trying to claim one particular spot, you can try getting a guard. The guard will allow you to choose where one of the daily battles are held, which will of course give you a good amount of influence if won.

You might be gaining territory, but as Custom Colony land is marked with a faint grey, it could be hard to notice. Try selecting the tiles that should belong to you and check the percentage on the right.
