I like to take around 25 tiles for my own colonies, with the territory reaching all the way to the sacred temple (so I've claimed the territory directly to the north, east, south, or west of it, depending on where I've settled). It's not always a perfect square, though...usually not, in fact.

Literally only nine blocks because I've just started with the custom colony xD. But on another custom colony save file, I took half the map....totally didn't sprint around tossing lavender in every direction lol
