Shadowpaw was a little surprised to hear a squeaked thanks from the kitten, though he didn't have time to respond to him as he was now awaiting Proudpaw's response to his question. He gulped with worry as he heard Tawnyface's aggressive words which seemed to at least give the medicine cat's apprentice pause, although Proudpaw seemed to gather himself before managing to stand up to Tawnyface.
The Shadowclan she-cat stared down at Proudpaw once the practical kitten had lashed up in response to her, barking about what would happen if she didn't take the burdock root. Her eyebrows narrowed as an uneasy, ense silence held between the two of them for a number of moments that ticked on into a quarter of a minute. Her mind was turning as yet another one of these typically weak cats spoke back against her and opposed her stubbornness. It was almost stunning how frequently the Windclan cats were willing to do this and it was revealing of a different sort of strength that she was not used to coming up against in her life...though she did not know how to call it.
Giving a low, spiteful growl, she plopped down on her haunches while glaring firey claws into the little whelp she could probably stomp to death if he applied the paste wrong.
Shadowpaw gave a second relieved sigh as Tawnyface plopped down without a word, resigning to the herbs although he could still see the glare in her gaze plainly. Turning back to Cinderkit he quietly spoke up. I just need to put the cobwebs back on. It won't hurt like the paste does." He reached forward, not waiting for the kitten to respond, and reapplied the cobwebs that he had pulled off in order to put the paste on. It might not be the most sanitary, but he heard Proudpaw's words--they didn't have much choice what with all of the injuries stacking up around the camp.
It didn't take him that long to get them back on, then he took a step back and averted his gaze, avoiding meeting the eyes of Speckleflower and glancing around the medicine cat's den to take in the rest of the gathered cats inside of the very crowded space. He didn't believe there was anything else he could do. Rather than pellet another question at Proudpaw, he began stepping away towards the exit of the den.
Leafpaw shakily sighed as Mousepaw reassured her they were going to reach the deputy to speak with. She nodded slightly in response to his checkign on her condition, though there was a slightly queasy look on her face and it didn't exactly seem like she was completely confident in her own response to the question. "He...He's probably still around the territory here, helping Wildberry...b-but I...don't know..."

Proudpaw stood himself up as tall as he possibly could considering the fact that Tawnyface was intimidating in her own right and he couldn’t really be sure she wasn’t going to claw one of his ears off if he tried to help her. Putting his paw over the burdock root he silently waited until she finally relented although the growl did seem to be enough to keep him from being overly cocky about all of this. Peeling back the cobwebs from her wounds he chewed up the burdock before carefully starting to put the paste on. Of course there wasn’t much he could do about any stinging effects it might have. It wasn’t his fault they decided to get into a fight with a fox. That thing’s claws and fangs were probably disease ridden for all they knew.
He made a slight face when he pulled the cobwebs off of one of the deeper wounds. “This is going to sting.” He mewed a low warning although didn’t give her much time to do anything about it before going ahead and putting burdock root on it and then stepped back bracing himself for whatever reaction might follow.
As soon as Shadowpaw had finished with the last of Cinderkit’s cobwebs the queen protectively draped her tail over her kits, shielding them from the rest of the cats in the den. She looked emotionally drained looking down at her kits. With a heavy sigh she looked back towards the entrance of the den peeling her eyes away for the first time as Shadowpaw made his silent retreat. Shaking her head softly to herself she turned back to her kits trying to keep them bundled up from the rest of the world.
The she-cat kept herself back from the crowd watching towards the medicine cat den. There was a slow trickle of information that came out although no cat was brave enough to go in and find out for themselves what had actually happened. Flicking her ears back she drew in a slight sigh of relief when she saw Shadowpaw creeping out, looking physically unharmed. She slowly made her way towards him. She couldn’t shake what she had seen from her mind completely but, she wasn’t really sure she should share any of that with any cat other than maybe Ravenfang or Rainstar but, she still wasn’t sure. “Hey Shadowpaw.” She mewed waving her tail to get his attention as she made her way over.
Even she didn’t seem very confident in her condition. He’d rather see her back at camp than running through the rain in the Riverclan territory trying to find Ravenfang when he might not even be here. Mousepaw moved himself to her side, just in case something happened. “Or he could have gone back to camp in the time we’ve been away.” He pointed out although he really had no idea which direction the deputy had gone off in. The downpour made it impossible to scent him to find out just where he might have been. “Maybe we should go back and wait for him there?” He asked giving her a half hearted shrug. He couldn’t see the future so he was trying to do the best he could.

Tawnyface had to sturdy herself for the burdock root, readying for the stinging effect that she had experienced few times being that she was rarely injured herself. As Proudpaw began applying it she emitted a quiet and annoyed hiss, again cursing herself in her own head for having fought poorly enough to receive these wounds and being put in a position where she had to be helped by a medicine kitten in Windclan.
At the very least, the warrior had the decency to stifle any protest she might have and stayed still, having a manner of dignity to keep in this humiliating moment. Once Proudpaw had finished applying the paste, she hissed one more time at him, ready to bat him away if he didn't step back. "You better have done a good job, because I'm not coming back for more." Having said the thankless remark, she turned away and exited the den without acknowledging the mother or the kittens she had saved. She needed to get out of this tight and tense space, and now.
Shadowpaw took in a deep breath as he heard the voice of Hazelrunner before having spotted her waving tail. He burst forwards and rushed up to her, releasing his deep breath shakily as he brushed up against her shoulder, his legs going slightly wobbly as he gulped. "I...I saw...they...it was terrible...Dogclaw, and...and Redsky..." He quietly whispered, looking up into Hazelrunner's eyes. "What they did. I...It's worse than they ever did to me..." He was still searching for a rational answer to why they did what they had done, and he was desperate to get it. Yet...something in the back of his head told him Hazelrunner would have no rational answer for him.
Leafpaw's ears twitched and she looked about them in doubt as the rain continued pouring down on them. Any scent of Ravenfang was not near them and the weather was certainly going to make it far more difficult. Yet, she wasn't confident that he would of returned to the Windclan camp yet, and she found herself turning her head about, glancing back and forth in between the two territories. "L-let's...just f-find someone in Riverclan and a-ask..." As a stutter camp to her voice, distinctive from the empty-breathedness from moments ago, it seemed she was beginning to shiver a bit. She didn't wait for him to say anything as she started moving back towards the Riverclan camp she had bolted from a short time ago.

Proudpaw had to jump back as she hissed loudly at him before taking to leave out of the den. “Good riddance.” He hissed softly under his breath as he lashed his tail from side to side. The crisis had been averted for the time being. He glanced towards the mother and two kits huddled up in one of the nests. Sitting down heavily he watched the rain coming down. He wished he could get out of this oppressive environment of the camp. He moved to the back of the den lashing his tail from side to side staring out info the den with narrowed eyes.
Hazelrunner was more than a little surprised to see him rushing right for her through the gathered cats. She braced herself as Shadowpaw brushed against her shoulder trying to get some support for his clearly wobbly legs. Her eyes softened looking at the apprentice silently. “Oh Shadowpaw...” She whispered softly in the tom’s ear barely audible over the sounds of the storm. The image of Dogclaw and Redsky flashed in her mind. Her mind flickered to the horrible things that Shadowclan had been responsible for. There weren’t a lot of words that could be said about all of this. Looking him over she met his eyes sighing quietly to herself.
Mousepaw sighed softly to himself, his shoulders slumping, as she insisted on going back to ask a Riverclan cat just where the deputy was. It would mean that they would have to traverse through the soggy territory again and would have to cross the river again to get back to Riverclan camp. Still, he didn’t have much choice in the matter as she had already turned to head back towards Riverclan. Shaking his head he quickly paced after her trying to keep up, despite the dull ache already present in his legs from the sprint through the territory after her.

He stared at her, trying to keep himself up steadily as she barely said anything. His ears went flat and his hackles raised as she merely whispered into his ear as the rain continued storming down into their pelts and the ground around them, seeming to have nothing more clear or enlightening to give him than that. His mouth dropped open and he tried to get some sort of pleading or begging question for explanation, but all that came was a quiet whine. She had nothing for him, it seemed, and as he stared wide eyed into her's he desperately tried reading into what was going through her mind. Was it all of them? Just some? Was everything he had experienced part of a larger nature they had or simply adhering with Nightstar's word? Could she give him an answer?!?
"That's what Shadowclan is," It was a blunt and untimely interruption. "And that's what Windclan has to fight against until their last breath. You wonder why I did what I did? Its to fight against whatever it is you have seen." Near the somewhat gathered group of cats stood Russetfur, glaring at the Shadowclan kitten who had become disgustingly attached to Hazelrunner, who seemed to be doing nothing to stop the Shadowclan cat from how he was infiltrating and degrading her objective view of everything that was happening. "And you're a part of this. You're part of the reason why all of this is happening. Bringing Nightstar's gaze here. You better not forget that."
Shadowpaw's gaze translated itself over to Russetfur, clearly aware of who he was and still uncertain of why he was still here. His heart dropped through a lake faster than he had when he heard the words the warrior had to say, and he was left staring with his ears folded back, unmoving as he tried to process what the warrior had said. In a quiet and meek tone that gave no confidence and likely little audibility to his words, he whimpered "I'm trying to stop this..."
Leafpaw gave a frustrated sigh as she could quite strongly feel his reservation about making this journey again. Though it was prickling at her pelt that something very strange had just happened to her, and although it was dumping waterfalls on them at the moment, all she could do now that they were approaching the end of this conflict with Nightstar, as far as she saw it, they were going to need to get ready as soon as possible. "If you don't want to come, you can turn around," It was a bit of a harsh bite at him after he went this whole way for Applepaw (and her, though she was not aware of it), chased her down and tried to stop her and then helplessly tried to get whatever had occurred to her to stop. Still, she was in the midst of feeling there was one thing that she could do to make a difference in their situation...she had to take advantage of that and his reservations could not stop her.

She couldn’t do it, no matter the fact the words were on the tip of her tongue. She couldn’t bring herself to try to rationalize what the Shadowclan cats were doing right now. She was exhausted and still rattled from what had happened before Dawnstar had pulled her out of the Dark Forest. Taking in a deep breath she looked him over and realized that he needed her to try and give him some sort of answer. Sighing softly she squared up her shoulders a little. “I don’t think...” Hazelrunner wasn’t given the chance as Russetfur abruptly butted his way into the conversation. Frowning she turned her head sharply towards the tom, her hackles rising up a little on end at his broad accusations about Shadowclan cats.
Narrowing her eyes a little she let her claws sink into the mud beneath her paws, especially when he had the nerve to imply that what he had done was justified somehow. The end of her tail twitched a little as she glanced at Shadowpaw who had seemingly folded in on himself from former Windclan warrior’s tirade. “It isn’t that simple Russetfur. Shadowclan isn’t all evil and Windclan isn’t all good.” She mewed firmly as she took a challenging step towards the tom. “Shadowpaw has worked just as hard if not harder to help out anyway he could.” Hazelrunner was doing her best not to snap excessively at the tom and reach out and claw his ears off at the moment, her exhaustion and frustration amplifying it that much more.
Mousepaw recoiled at the sudden sharpness at which she responded to him. Frowning a little to himself he looked at her for a long moment before sighing softly to himself. The soggy apprentice was tempted to turn around and go home. It felt like she’d just clawed him in the face after he’d trudged all the way out here just to make things right with her! Of course he couldn’t care less about Applepaw’s forgiveness. He’d done this all for her so, he couldn’t let it all be for nothing now. “I’ll come with you.” The young tom mumbled a bit miserably as he stalked along trailing behind her with his damp fur slowing him down considerably, her sharp words having shut him up for the time being. He told himself to put his reservations aside although he was still irritated that she was snapping at him for essentially being worried about her possibly getting sick after what had happened.

Russetfur's eyebrows narrowed directly in response to Hazelrunner coming to the Shadowclan cat's defense once again. Even more than that was how she implied not all Windclan was good; even if Hazelrunner hadn't meant it this way Russetfur clearly took it as an assault on his own character, his facial expression flaring up as he stepped forward directly in challenge to Hazelrunner. "You think that makes up for what his cowardice has brought to our front entrance? The wrath of Nightstar? You think the awful teachings that he brings into the forest being here is a good thing? Say what you will about my disobeying the leader, but you have all allowed this philosophy into Windclan. On some part through this cowardly kitten and on another part through that vicious, worthless mongrel of a she-cat."
"How about you say that to my face?" There was a loud hiss and spit from just outside of the medicine cat's den as Tawnyface emerged just in time to hear this nice conversation in between the three cats. Her face was in a tense snarl as she approached closer to Russetfur, who quickly twirled around to face her, almost seeming to be glad the she-cat had entered the scene. "You're a charming one to talk all tough about who has caused the problems here. Its very cute, really, just how much of a fox-brained babbler you are." Her words were provocatory, like despite her time here, when faced with this sort of attitude she was happy to challenge and scrap in any way that presented itself to her.
"Oh, here she is," Russetfur grew a small grin, seeming just as happy to incite some sort of inflict with the Shadowclan cat despite the moment in time they were in. "The other stray-" his gaze turned back to Hazelrunner. "-how can you be okay with this lake scum washing up into our most vulnerable ranks? Have you utterly lost your mind and any logic in your head?" It was a harsh and aggressive attack on the she-cat and he seemed to have no guilt about saying it.
Ebonykit shrunk down even tighter against his mother as he heard a growing commotion outside of the den. All of this insanity with foxes and being wounded and suddenly there was what seemed to be a growing conflict within their own ranks. he couldn't handle this right now, which became clear as he began crying again, whimpering pathetically and trying to cover his ears.
"And you," Russetfur gave a 180 degree spin towards Tawnyface once more. "You are scum washed up from the dirtiest waters, kept alive and sound only by the inability of soft-hearted cats to identify a monster when they see one-" His tail lashed in the direction of Hazelrunner. "-and I hope you perish with your Shadowclan masters when you're figured out as a spy!" His claws were beginning to pull out as he saw Tawnyface growing increasingly agitated, a look of more and more hate concretely making its way into her features. This was moments away from a fight where neither warrior was interested in showing mercy to the other.
"Hazelrunner is the kindest cat here! Tawnyface and I are here because she wants us to be better! The clan believes we can be better!" The protest that sounded from the voice of the Shadowclan tom-cat wasn't a yowl of defiance, lacking the strength of a confident warrior defending a value they believed in--Yet it wasn't the pathetic, fragile, and trampleable murmur of the cat who came to them some time ago. "Right?" His voice admitted the slightest doubt as he turned to Hazelrunner, but the fact remained that, for what seemed to be the first time in their experience with him, Shadowpaw had spoken out and defended another cat. In this case, two other cats.
Tawnyface's gaze glanced past Russetfur and set on the other Shadowclan cat. As he completely broke what seemed to be his normal character, defending the she-cat beside him, some of the hate left her face and she blinked at him, an honest confusion filling her brain as she wondered, above all, how he had managed to say this considering how competently he could stand up to angry tom cats before coming here, picturing his pelt matted with injuries inflicted joyously by his father.
Russetfur turned back to stare at Shadowpaw as everything around them went quiet. His glare intensified, burning fiery claws into his pelt as the Shadowclanner had the audacity to speak back against him when he was the catalyst in all of this, everything that had happened to intensify the events befalling Windclan now; the catalyst to him losing his clan, the only thing he really cared about sustaining other than himself.
Leafpaw was unable to hear what he had mumbled over the dumping rain around them, especially at the pace she had set for the two of them, but she figured when he didn't break off that he was obliging himself to continue on as she wanted. She didn't say anything more, but this registered with her and she tucked it in the back of her mind that it meant something that he was choosing to stay here instead when he had seemed so uneager to accompany this further step of the journey. She continued on, barreling back in search of Ravenfang or someone who could tell them where he was as they moved through the Riverclan territory again.

Hazelrunner stood tall against the tom’s outrage at his words. The she-cat hissed as he continued to insult no only Shadowpaw but, Windclan as a whole for somehow inviting in Nightstar’s attention on them just by helping Shadowpaw, a young cat who was ready to throw away his life regardless. Her muscles tensed as he looked at Shadowpaw. Lashing her tail she glared at him taking a step to put herself between Russetfur and Shadowpaw the hackles almond her spine stood straight up on end. She didn’t want this hateful cat anywhere near Shadowpaw. As if her own ears had been burning Tawnyface appeared almost perfectly on cue to confront Russetfur herself.
Hazelrunner saw this as one of the few times that herself and Tawnyface would both be defending Shadowclan from one of her own clanmates...well a former clanmate. The confrontation turned even more volatile with Tawnyface coming in. A look of disgust came over her face as Russetfur seemed to revel in the loud commotion he’d caused. Hazelrunner recoiled slightly when he turned sharply to insult her and Shadowpaw even further. Curling her lips back to show her teeth her back arched a little. “The only scum that I see in our camp is a cat willing to let an apprentice be killed in a vain attempt to save your own pelts!” The she-cat spit venom dripping from her words. Any restraint she had was now gone.
Speckleflower’s attention snapped up from her kits out the sounds of hissing and yowling just outside the entrance of the medicine cat den. Standing rather tensely she stared out until she heard the sobs of Ebonykit. Ripping her wide eyes away the entrance she curled herself around her kits protectively. Cinderkit was sniffling and crying as well not long after his brother. Before long both kits were a pair of sobbing mess. “Shhhh.” She mewed quietly laying her head close to them. She silently stared out of the den narrowing her eyes when she heard the loud back and forth between the four cats. Tensing a little to herself she did her best to reassure her kits.
The anger briefly left her face as she turned to glance at Shadowpaw who abruptly spoke up to her defense. A warm feeling of pride briefly swelled in her chest seeing the tom speak up to himself. Frowning she snapped her attention back to Russetfur angling herself in front of Russetfur. “Why are you here really Russetfur? Because you aren’t here to help anyone.” She snapped sharply turning his accusatory questions back on him.
Wrenflight emerged from the Riverclan entrance sighing to herself. Every pawstep felt heavier than the last. She was completely drained after her talk with Otterstar. The new leader hadn’t gained any newfound understanding with his new lives. She had been unceremoniously shooed out of her birth clan’s camp without a chance to even say goodbye to Applepaw or Redsky. She’d left with her tail between her legs. Taking to the water she swam across the river. Pulling herself out of the water she flicked her ears back against her head glancing back over her shoulder before moving towards Windclan camp. Dragging her paws she was slow moving her mind still reeling from all of this. She didn’t notice Leafpaw and a dragging Mousepaw moving along just through the trees, stuck in her own mind.

OOC edit: Hey friend, just letting you know a couple things in my life have blown up and its making my schedule and/or mental energy quite low at the moment. Just warning you--i love this rp so dont think im leaving if im absent for a bit because i'll be back im sorry
Russetfur's eyebrows narrowed further as Hazelrunner took a protective step to intervene between him and the Shadowclan apprentice, like a mother trying to defend their kit from an accusation. It was pathetic how much Shadowpaw had weaved his way into her best graces...and that she had fallen for it. He felt a certainty and a righteousness come over him at Tawnyface's volatile response, especially as she seemed readying for a fight, but it quickly faded to give way to an indignant, yet surprised flusterment as Shadowpaw himself voiced how he felt, even if it wasn't the most well put together defense of another cat. It took him a few seconds to compose himself as he prepared to snap back at the kitten hiding behind Hazelrunner, but the warrior spoke up before he could do so. Tawnyface had been ready for a scrap with this piece of crow-food, but Shadowpaw's interjection had put her in a weird state of feeling, in between an aggressive tension for battle and a bewildered surprise at the words that had exited Shadowpaw's mouth. Leaving behind for a moment the fact that he was always tripping at her paws, Shadowpaw had attempted a defense of Hazelrunner against a cat who moments before had shriveled him up into his usual self with a few angry words. It left her confused as to what brought him out of that place only moments afterwards; he couldn't ever defend himself, and yet he suddenly spoke out for her. It had no sensible reasoning to it. Russetfur's gaze switched back to Hazelrunner as he was interrupted by her, and his jaw hardened as a scowl replaced the expression of bewilderment on his face. "I warned you about Amberberry. All I've ever wanted is my clan to be safe. He is probably working with Shadowclan as we speak to infiltrate, if they haven't already with these two pieces of water scum..." He hissed generally at all three of them. "I try to defend this place and you all come to see me as the villain. How entirely messed up is that? Starclan would laugh at your foolishness." Shadowpaw was slowly gaining an understanding of what Starclan might really be, and thus, as Russetfur boldly called upon their ancestors to chastise Hazelrunner and the rest of the clan broadly, the apprentice could not help but feel that what Russetfur was claiming wasn't right. He knew there were rules, and one of those rules was that there were four clans, separate. But he could think back to some of his conversations with Hazelrunner and his conversation with Speckleflower not long ago, and...well...it seemed wrong. He looked down to his paws. "You're wrong," Shadowpaw quietly murmured. "If I had stayed there, I'd..." His gaze rose slowly, and he first met Russetfur's eyes past Hazelrunner's shoulder, before moving them slightly to connect with Hazelrunner's. "I wouldn't be alive!" His eyes still were not burning with a fire of conviction, but he spoke with a certainty and belief in what he said. He was making a statement, taking a position almost. "Do you believe Starclan would ask Hazelrunner to do nothing when she sees a drowning cat?" Russetfur hissed more loudly this time. "Of course not, you mouse-brain! But that's a far leap from bringing you into our camp and bringing you to the most vulnerable heart of our territory! She could of left you to return to Shadowclan but instead she dragged you back! Its insanity!"Shadowpaw's eyes moved back to Russetfur and his heart skipped a beat for a moment. That didn't make sense. Did Russetfur not know what.....had been happening there? Was he unaware what 'leaving Shadowpaw there' likely would of meant? Shadowpaw wasn't able to respond anymore as he had spent his courage and the seemingly endless current of this cat's anger was wearing him down. He seemed to receed back into himself, his gaze dropping a bit and the exclamation pointed towards him was left answered. Leafpaw almost immediately caught the wet pelt as she emerged from the camp, noticing her seemingly slow pace and exterior-oriented gaze as she grew visibly closer. "Ravenfang!" She called once she had drawn nearer, giving no context as she decreased from her full pace and started pulling in breaths of air, not having trouble doing so. "I...I need to find him! We have to talk! I...Where is he? In there?" She started moving towards the entrance, not having the time to address Wrenflight's out-of-the-moment air. It was an awkward moment of insensitivity, perhaps or perhaps not justifiable by her panicked and hastily thought up way she could help them survive.

Hazelrunner’s jaw fell open in utter shock at Russetfur’s bold call that Starclan would condemn her and every other cat in the clan for their actions. The fur along her spin bristled a little. Cats were already starting to question why Starclan had done so little to help them so, his claims would probably serve to dishearten more cats.
She had to grind her teeth to stop herself from blurting out that he was wrong. She knew he was wrong. Starclan understood that this was no time for petty disputes. Shadowpaw continued to stand up for her choices and plainly stated the fact that he would be dead if not for Windclan. It was a bitter truth. A new surge of anger came over her towards Russetfur for putting Shadowpaw into a position he had to defend his right to go on living. With a new sort of fire in her eyes she lashed her tail in a warning towards the tom. He wasn’t her clanmate anymore.
”I don’t know if I should envy you or pity you Russetfur, that you have such a clear vision of how the clans should be.” She hissed looking over the tom with contempt. A cat had to do something truly horrible for Hazelrunner to despise them. “Who are you to get to decide who should live or die based on where they come from? Thinking like that is playing right into Nightstar’s paws.” She was practically shaking in anger keeping herself between Shadowpaw and Russetfur.
A call through the trees cut the cord between her and her muddled thoughts, bringing her back to reality. Wrenflight nearly jumped out of her fur when a call came to through the winds. Recoiling she wasn’t at all prepared to see any cats out here. Trying to get her barring she looked this way and that to locate the cat calling to her. As the two apprentices came running to her she blinked several times trying to catch her mind up to the present. Her brow furrowed as she glanced towards the direction of the Windclan border. “Oh, um...I think he went back to Windclan. I haven’t seen him for a while.” She frowned to herself a seed of worry planting itself at the thought that he hand’t made it back like he was supposed to have already done.

(Okay best of luck with your job <3)
Shadowpaw was now placed back into his normal position of silence, and while he had shown a protest that was unseen within him before this confrontation, he seemed ready to take whatever attack came to him once more. He seemed to unconsciously pull close to Hazelrunner, hiding behind her to keep away from Russetfur's judgement, a judgement that threatened to pull him back into a moment that he was terrified of being subjected to once more. A moment in which he was placed as responsible for every mistake and unfortunate occurrence that happened to him. Russetfur had told him he was going to be responsible for whatever Nightstar did to Windclan, for bringing the attention of his father towards this clan. It stabbed at his heart and hurt him in a way he wasn't used to, to think that it might be his responsibility for the darkness that was being brought to them, even if he had to be brought here to preserve his life.
Russetfur emitted a violent hiss as Hazelrunner accused him of playing into the paws of Nightstar with the definitiveness and clear line he had drawn in between what the warriors of Windclan could do to help other cats. He deeply felt that Hazelrunner had insulted him comparing his rhetoric to that of Nightstar's, liek there was somehow any possible comparison in between a cat that only had wanted to protect his clan and a cat that wanted to crush the clans beneath his paws. His demeanor seemed noticeably enraged as his pelt spiked up and his attention semeed to become hyper-focused on Hazelrunner.
His voice rung with a venom and a growing anger that, despite his malice for Shadowpaw, hadn't seemed to be there before this moment. "You think I am in any way comparable to that monster? What sort of delusions are you entertaining in your mind? I wanted to protect this clan! nightstar wants to destroy our clan! There is nothing to view similarly in between those two things, you warped piece of fox-dung!" Within his voice was a rage that seemed to forget how tenuous his stay in the camp was, given his exiled status--he was so furious at Hazelrunner's comparing him to Nightstar that he seemed to lose any semblance of composure to what he was saying.
Leafpaw continued drawing closer to Wrenflight as she struggled to identify where this sound had come from, slowing beginning to feel a growing impatience as the warrior composed herself whilst finally catching sight of the two apprentices approaching her. She sucked in a deep breath as Wrenflight told them that he had gone back to Windclan, and a strong wave of frustration forced itself onto her as Wrenflight informed them. She swung around 180 degrees, not saying anything more to Wrenflight before, once again, leafpaw began taking off towards the direction of the Windclan camp. She gave no signal to indicate whether Ravenfang was okay or why she had come to ask this question, not laying Wrenflight's worries to rest as Leafpaw, somewhat absorbed within her own mind, took of once again to find Ravenfang. She needed to speak with her dad, and it needed to be now.

(Thank you ^^)
All of Russetfur’s anger seemed to hone in on her now. Hazelrunner stubbornly stood her ground against the older cat’s gaze. Feeling Shadowpaw take cover behind her made her that much more determined. Baring her fangs at the cat she wasn’t going to stand here and take what the exiled cat was spitting and hissing at her.
The fur along her spin when straight up when he had the nerve to call her delusional. “You need to check your ears! I’m not calling you a monster! Just a stubborn piece of crowfood that can’t realize that all of this is bigger than our clan’s borders. If we shut ourselves off like this we’re making ourselves more vulnerable. We’re just as guilty as Shadowclan if we leave cats in need to fend for themselves.” Hissing through gritted teeth she had to keep herself from racking her claws across his face.
Her tail was moving violently from side to side now, glaring at the tom with a hard look. “If your former clanmates are so wrong according to you why in the name of Starclan are you still here?!” Hazelrunner snapped hotly looking about ready to attack the tom right then and there. A righteous anger came over her, causing her practically shaking at the point.
Wrenflight was left staring somewhat bewildered as Leafpaw just marched off without another word. A million questions were racing through her head. Staring after them she carefully glanced towards Mousepaw who was left to follow behind in her tracks, although he seemed relieved for some reason. Shaking her head she picked up her own pace to keep up with the two young cats. She could only assume he wasn’t in camp if Leafpaw was out in this storm looking for him. The feeling of dread continued to grown in her chest.

Shadowpaw's fur was a spiked mess as the air between these cats moved beyond tension to something that Shadowpaw was familiar with. There was more than a drip of anger to Hazelrunner's voice, more of a flowing current that left him shocked, his gaze lifting as he stared into the back of her pelt. When she began shaking from the anger verberating through her body, her tail lashing violently in each direction, he felt his legs become paralyzed as the one cat he had never seen truly angry almost seemed ready to engage in a fight with Russetfur, something horribly unsettling given his image of her as incredibly calm, incredibly kind, and diplomatic. If he was a braver tom-cat, he would have tried to say something to her, but his wide eyes stayed fixed on her as he fearfully awaited the results of this situation.
Tawnyface stared at Hazelrunner with eyes almost as wide as Shadowpaw's as the Windclan she-cat let out one of the most fiery insults she had heard. It wasn't laced with pawfuls of various insults nor with a mountain of threats--instead, she told him exactly what she thought of him and basically told him he was a waste of space in the camp. If Tawnyface wasn't still prepared to scrap with Russetfur on her own, she might have been impressed.
Russetfur's pelt flared up larger than it had been in any moment of this 'discussion,' or even when he had been expulsed from the clan. There was a sort of complete indignance brought about by Hazelrunner's double insult that lead to him fully unsheathing his claws and dropping into what was clearly an aggressive warrior's pose.
Half a moment before he could leap to attack Hazelrunner, there was a horrid yowl from the entrance of the camp as an enraged Ravenfang roared in their direction "What in the divine name of our ancestors is happening here?!?" It was more than audible throughout the whole camp, leaving a complete and total hush in the camp as Russetfur stopped mid-posture, turning to stare at the deputy hatefully for the interruption--Shadowpaw's gaze finally turned to Ravenfang as the apprentice reflexively recoiled and cowered back at the yowling tom-cat. Save for the sobbing of two kittens inside of the medicine cat's den, the camp was silent. Even Tawnyface's gaze seemed to imply she somewhat recalled, in that moment, the zone of Shadowclan.
Leafpaw either didn't notice or didn't say anything when Wrenflight took up a pace to keep in step close to them. They really should of gone back to Windclan in the first place, and as her ears drooped from the soaking rain and her pelt was taking up a shiver from the freezing cold of it all, she felt guilt stabbing at her for dragging Mousepaw into this. Continuing on with this feeling dropping her heart through the dirt, she was left to continue on towards the clan, keeping a brisk pace as long as she could, although her muscles were growing stiff and frozen as the rain continued battering down on them. She was started to leave the denial that this had been a poor idea.

The rest of the camp had fallen away for Hazelrunner as, she was now completely focused on the traitor of a cat. The young warrior hadn’t been this truly angry with a cat in a long time. He attacked her friend, Tawnyface, and now her very own morals. Standing tensely in front of the tom she narrowed her eyes not backing down from Russetfur’s challenge as he crouched low, ready to attack her. Thankfully before an actual fight could break out between the two cats a yowl rang out that caused the whole camp to go still besides the two wailing kits. Snapping her head away from Russetfur she turned to the entrance of camp.
If she wasn’t still consumed with anger she would have backed down as soon as the deputy appeared. It took her a moment or two longer to make herself step away from Russetfur, the fur along her spine still spiked. Hazelrunner didn’t try to justify herself to Ravenfang. Instead she stared down at her paws glaring a little to herself as she tried to push her angry thoughts aside. Taking in several deep breaths she let her shoulders slouch a little before she glanced back up the deputy her ears flat against her head.
Wrenflight moved through the rainy muggy ground keeping up with the two apprentices although seemed entirely separated from them. She was stuck in her own thoughts. On top of her leaving her birth clan on poor terms, she was stressing about the thought that something really wrong had happened to Ravenfang. Leaping into the water of the river she swam across the river that separated the two clans. When she was safely across she turned to hurry on but, had to stop and chide herself to stop and wait to make sure the younger cats got across safely. Sighing softly she stood on the bank keeping a careful eye on the two cats.
Mousepaw frowned a little as he noticed her dragging along a bit clearly beating herself. The soggy tom carefully made his way to her side lightly nudging her. “Hey it’s alright.” The apprentice mewed softly pushing aside his own feelings of misery about being dragged out here. He had come out here to get closer to her anyway. Even if he might catch whitecough because of it, it would be worth it if she gained some of her trust back in him.

Ravenfang's furious glare was turning about into all four of the gathered cats' gazes. He seemed unaffected by the looks he was receiving from his clanmates nor Russetfur, as he approaching with a dark, narrow-eyed expression with his tail lashing behind him. He had given himself just a couple minutes to take a breath and gather himself, and this was what he came back to. He couldn't even take a breath of survival and sanity without things going absolutely awry. Though he was incapable of explaining anything like this in the moment, he was not incredibly angry at Hazelrunner, who had seemed to be a main aggressor in that situation, beyond the understandable disappointment that she would engage Russetfur in that way, be he clanmate or not.
No, what had him so furious was a double sided claw--the mercy he believed they needed was what was driving him in what he believed was the righteous direction--and yet, cats like Russetfur viewed it as a poor decision for the clan and was causing horribly difficult situations that Ravenfang had to deal with. Russetfur had tried to deliver the Shadowclan cats to their deaths--and after, he returned and stayed under the tense mercy of Windclan in hopes it would change his perspective. But something had happened here, and if Hazelrunner was fuming at him and Shadowpaw was cowering behind her, it wasn't hard to figure out along what line the problem had been.
"You have again proven you don't belong here," He snapped at Russetfur with a low growl following the sentence. "Get out of this camp, and I swear to my ancestors in Starclan that the next time you return to sow more chaos I will feel just and right putting a stop to you." Following the growl was a chilling yet quiet threat that was uncommon off of Ravenfang's tongue, but seemed utterly serious once one saw the coldness in his eyes in this moment.
Russetfur slowly stood up from where he had been crouched to pounce upon Hazelrunner. "Y...you..." There was dripping venom in the simply uttering of the word, and Russetfur's gaze was growing increasingly dark. "You aren't fit to be a warrior in charge of an apprentice picking ticks, let alone the deputy of this clan. I refuse. I'm staying here and I'm going to pull my clan and my clanmates back on track. If you want a fight, then its just going to be you and I fighting." Russetfur was clearly aware of the odds in this situation and was ready to do what he needed to in order to give himself a fair chance. He could kill Ravenfang or at least exile him in retribution, become the deputy himself, get rid of the Shadowclan filth and finally set their sights on what was the most important--ridding themselves of the threat of Shadowclan having already infiltrated them.
Leafpaw didn't say anything for several long seconds as Mousepaw suddenly approached at her side, seeming to have a sense of what was going on within her head. She gulped before quietly murmuring. "W-what? I'm not sure...I, uhh...We are almost at camp, so let's...uhh..." She cleared her throat awkwardly. She had enough on her mind right now and she couldn't focus on trying to resolve another piece of guilt--instead she shoved it to the bottom pit of her stomach, trying to forget about it altogether as they grew closer and closer to the entrance.
