Jackal kept her face blank, but how much she would have loved to hiss at this, 'Flintstar', and pin him down by the tail. He didn't know them at all! How could he assume that just because they were rouges they had no morals, no loyalty, no honor? Just like all the other clan cats, thinking that just because they had these 'warrior ancestors' or whatever, they were the best thing since mice! They all thought they were so high and mighty, knocking these entitled cats down a few pegs would be satisfying. She pretended to look slightly upset when Dew lied about being from a clan.

"Oh, I don't have a crush." she replied. "I shouldn't say anything about Citrusdapple's, she would kill me if I told anyone."

Birdkit ! She-cat ! Kit

Birdkit ran over and nodded. Her tail swished back and forth as she looked for a nice, fat piece of prey. She found one and dove in, popping her head out with a fat bird in her mouth.

Birdkit nodded as she took a bite and chewed. She relished the taste of the bird on her tounge and the smell of all the delicious prey. She licked her lips as she waited for Berrykit to take another bite.

Dashwind ! Tom ! Warrior

Dashwind flicked his ear, looking a little disappointed. “Citrusdapple has a crush?” He asked. “Are you sure?” Who is it? He thought. It probably isn’t me... he looked a little sad as he thought.

Flintstar turned his head to the side, wondering whether to believe their story. "Really now? Then why aren't you in this LakeClan? Why aren't you far North, living as rouges there?" he challenged. If these cats were really from a LakeClan, then what happened that made these cats- including a leader, at that- be forced to leave and live the dishonorable life of a rouge, that all Clan cats despised? Their hostility made it clear they weren't loners. He swished his tail impatiently, waiting for an answer.

"Will you lead the way Redfur?" She asked, purring. "I always forget and have to hop from tree to tree to get back, it's just how I learned to get back to camp. Thistlethorn taught me when we were apprentices, so I've done it ever since." She smiled and looked up at Redfur, the pink scar on her nose showing.

Arrowstrike

Arrowstrike shrugged, "Yeah, but I'm not sure how much longer it's going to last considering how close Featherstorm has been getting with a certain ginger tom." Her eyes widen as she suddenly realized her mistake, hoping desperately that by some stroke of luck, Dashwind hadn't heard her say the she-cat's name, Arrowstrike changed the subject "Hey! Did you hear that bird?"

"We were forced to leave. The two-legs caught most of us, but my parents and, Jackal, Berrykit and I escaped. We hung around but it soon became clear that these two-legs wanted to stay. So we left, and now we're here. We changed our name because it painfully reminded us of our fallen clan." She lied and whimpered.

Redfur
"Thats nice of Thistlethorn. Well den, forrow me." He mumbled over his prey, and tried not to think about how she had gotten the scar. Entwining his tail with hers he led her towards camp.

"Owkay!" She purred, their fur touching as they walked. She looked at Redfur and blushed. She quickly swerved her head facing the path in front of her paws, her fur growing hot.

Berrykit had overheard the Lakeclan conversation, but when she heard her name, she walked over and said, "What? I was born here. With my parents. My Momma and Papa lived here." She tilted her head. "I'm sorry that the evil Twolegs took the Lakeclan over."

Dashwind tensed when he heard Featherstorm’s name. Citrusdapple likes Featherstorm?! That means she’s... his posture changed, his neck fur spiking up and his tail bristling. When Arrowstrike changed the subject he hissed, “Yes.” He tracked the bird, seeing it in a tree. He said no more to Arrowstrike as he tracked his prey.

Birdkit nodded and sat up. She looked for something to do, looking around at every cat.

Flintstar started to sympathize with the cats, but then thought better of it. So what if they got kicked out? That's not MistClan's problem. Another Clan would still be a rival to us, anyway. Plus, they've lived for at least 5 moons, alone. They don't need us, and we don't need or want them. Simple as that, he thought. "You may have gone through hard times in the past, but that does not mean our Clan has to shelter you." He was so close to snapping that he almost called them cowards for ditching their names and a life of honor, but stopped himself as he realized he had no proof they lived dishonorably. But their futile begging made him all the more suspicious. He stood up and looked them in the eyes, forcing himself not to shout at them. "Give me one good reason- a good, solid reason why I shouldn't kick you both out this instant," he said calmly.

Robinheart, who had been sitting in the Leaders' den with Flintstar this whole time, decided to add in a few quiet words of her own. She hadn't been talking or seething with anger, so she heard what Berrykit said. "If Berrykit was born here, then how are you, your parents, and Berrykit the only ones who escaped? Berrykit would've been a newborn at the time your 'tragedy' happened, but she says she was here." She said as she shook her head. "Your story doesn't add up."

"Oh thats right. Sorry, I was referring to another Berrykit. She died from lack of prey when we were traveling. When this little one was born, she was named Berry, In honor of the brave kitten who had fallen. I'm sorry Berry, we were hoping you never had to hear this."She dipped her head and nuzzled Berry softly. "On our way here, we meet your mother who turned out to be Midnights sister. When your mother died, we took care of you. Im sorry Berry, this happened when you were a few moon old. But surely you remember this?"
