Can anyone tell me what the mountain cats gained you if your friendship with em is high enough?

Do you mean friendship with each individual cat or reputation with the colony as a whole? If you're part of a different colony and you mean gaining reputation with others, at 25% you can enter their colony and walk around, shops/doctors unlock at 50%, and at 75% you can join that colony. Going to 100% gets you nothing special, unless you get to 100% with all colonies, then you get a Steam achievement.

I mean the friendship with individual cats. Will they give you anything special like carnidels or blue jays? Or will they only give healing herbs?

I believe it differs, like just random chance. I did receive a Bluejay from Robin and another from Arthur though.
I got a lot of Emeralds from Slip.
