how hard is "v. hard" difficulty?

hi!!!!!!!!!!! just wondering about v hard difficulty cuz i noticed it was an option in settings and i havent tried it!!! i was considering putting it on my new file im just curious if anyones tried it before :0 does it like, make enemy cats hurt you more, or prey harder to hunt, or what? :0

It's pretty much what you think: prey is harder to catch, enemies (cats and bats) hit harder, hunger drains faster, etc. It doesn't seem to change the Forest Guardian Quest or the trials, friendship gains remain the same, item spawns aren't altered, sell/buy value of items remain the same, etc.

I honestly wish it did more challenging things like introduce new predators, sickness, or things that upped the overall challenge.

Basically exactly what Catdad said, I would also love an even bigger challenge with more enemies and maybe even little things like thunderstorms having a chance of striking you with lightning in very hard mode or enemy patrols using snake lily on you. As is, it's not much worse than normal hard mode.
