Favorite Cattails Moments

I thought I'd ask what everyone's favorite thing about Cattails has been!

My personal favorite thing about Cattails has been getting to know all of the different personalities of the cats in the world. Especially Arthur, Missy, and Neil. It's really cool how much dialog is in the game and how many cats there are with unique personalities.

What are other people's favorite things about Cattails?

Marrying Missy was gr8. and we've got kits on the way!! can't wait for those. another favorite moment was f i n a l l y finishing that quest! When I got the cardinal, the last thing I needed, I was so happy. Just had to finish the puzzles and then...I would be done. That feeling of satisfaction, o man...it was gr8 cx

Seeing the unique pelt colors of my kits, and also, exploring the world in general, to be honest. I feel like the graphics are just really relaxing to look at, so I loved looking around the different parts of the map, especially with some of the little details when the seasons change.

I have to say I am very grateful for the amount of customization, yet vague nature of Cattails! Even the cat save files I made for things such as getting the achievements I’d already surpassed come their release, or for replaying certain sections for screenshots...they all are unique to me, especially based on what I use their file for!

If I’m honest, I’d actually have to say my favourite cat is on my second save file; the one I used for gathering the item preferences of all the cats and doing some item based tests, if only for the story that purpose presented.

I love the little details in this game. I'm helping with the wiki so I've been paying attention more to some of the finer details that others might not notice like the fact that Oracle's predictions change when there is also fog in the forecast. For example, when there is only rain: "In my mind, clouds form, bringing their life-giving waters to the thirsty soil." Whereas when there is both rain and fog, it changes to: "The sky descends toward the earth and blocks my vision. In addition, a light rain accompanies the bulwark of the heavens." It would've been simple to just splice the rain and fog prediction text together but Falcon changed it entirely while still making it clear what the forecast entails.

Another example that others familiar with the Mystic Colony's starting territory might notice is that the little puddles make your pawstep sounds change. Instead of generic crunching of grass for the whole map (with exceptions of the temple and mines), you actually get a squishy, sloppy sound for those small wet spots. Falcon could've just handwaved it as "dirt" or something to excuse the sound being the same as when on grass but he actually put the effort to make that little change. This extends to other things related to the (excellent) sound department for this game. Really, I can't get enough of the noises/music in this game.

I'm also thrilled with the kitten coat combination feature. Seriously, it's not just great from the perspective that your kittens feel like yours (instead of just clones of the other parent) but you get some awesome looking cats. How can you you not see this:

And think the idea wasn't brilliant? (This is Crow, one of the children of Slip and Blu (Cowhide))) It's wonderful and makes me want to play the game multiple times just to see what other combos I can get.

I hope as time goes on, we get more updates that just make the game even better but I'm overall pretty satisfied.

My favorite thing so far was Nil waking me up and asking about kittens. I can't wait until they're here! ^^ Nil is so sweet :3
