Will there ever be mods?

I really love this game, its helped me relax a lot considering all thats happened in my life
and im curious if the game would be able to mod in some way?

I always lvoed doing portrait mods and stuff for Stardew Valley,
and its totally cool if not, im just curious if anyone knows if modding is possible
or will be



i totally respect if not, I love this game nonetheless, even without mods ofc
thats the reason I bought it and the reason i keep continuing to play :>
