Gifts! You can go on the wiki if you want a quick guide of their likes/dislikes so you can quickly befriend them. Only 3 gifts can be given per day so make them count. Contrary to the OP, you do not need to reach 5 stars for Coco to show you the rose, they will show it to you on Autumn 5 of Year 1.

So I build up 5 stars with a cat, yet whenever I give them the red rose they'll reply with 'I can't accept this, I hope you understand'

Only cats with a heart by their text boxes can be romanced; the rest can not. The only cats you can romance are Missy, Scout, Lyrus, Alisa, Nil, Slip, Robin, Pebble, and Arthur. If the cat you are trying to romance is not one of these 9, then you can't date or marry them.

Oh, so Sarge isn't one you can romance? He had a heart by his text box until I got to five stars with him.

So... how does one improve their den? How do you get upgrades for it? and is there any information on the mines, such as how deep they are and what depth certain ores start appearing? I would like to know about the mines in general also.

EDIT: also I have a question about hunting. When you pounce, is whether you catch your prey random, or does it fail if you're too far?

how do i get a ring? because when i have 5 stars on a cat it wont show a ring in the shop

hehehe426, in winter Molby the mole will appear and introduce you to the den upgrade shop. The mines are 100 levels deep. For the Canyon and Prairie mines, I usually start finding gems after level 30. Not really sure about the Island mine because I haven't explored that one much. That one is definitely the hardest, though. As for hunting, you should try getting the Study Prey skill because it will show you the different radiuses for different prey. Sometimes you will just miss, though. You'll find that you can jump farther as you level up your hunting passive skill.

Mintshine, has Coco shown you the rose bush yet? If not, they will show you the fifth day of autumn. Then, a bit later Coco will tell you when Alisa, Delta, and Ember are selling the shiny trinkets. Just give it time!

So I know that to get four kits, you have to spoil your mate with gifts until the birth of the kittens.

If I give someone a gift that they like a day will there be four kits, or do you have to give them something the love or favourite? For example, In winter it's hard to get valerian for Robin, so could I just give them a dove a day instead?

Also, what does hard or very hard mode change? Does it effect plants and money or just hunting, hunger and fighting?

Oh, and when do you have to spoil your mate, after they ask you if you want kits or after they confirm that they're having kits?
