What do you think are the cat's backstories?

For the cats in Cattails, I like to make up backstories for them. Just fun and stuff. I just wanted to share some of mine, and you can share yours if you want.

I always thought that Nil was a former animal abuse victim. When he was a kitten, his bizarre coloring and crimson eyes quickly caught the attention of a roadside circus leader/maintainer guy. He bought him very young and (uncomfortableness) stabbed fake horns into his head. He was forced to do tricks for people with the whole fake horns on his head thing, being called "THE HORRIFYING DEMON-CAT!" and such. He was being treated horribly, and at some point Animal Control stepped in, but when they tried to capture him he escaped. He tried to remove those little horns of his, but they had been there for so long since infancy that his body grew around these. Or of course it's just a birth defect, but that's no fun.

Also, Ember has a pretty interesting backstory too. We don't know much about him, but he mentions his dad a lot, and also goes silent sometimes after mentioning him. Perhaps his father died? What about his mother? we will never know.

EDIT: Lyrus mentionet his mother and how beautyful and deep her blue fur was. RIP headcanon that Lyrus and Ember are cousins (but they stil could be thought)
So, Doc likes Marigold for the healing abilities. Now I want to draw Lyrus's (english grammar why) mother groomign her blue little kitten



I have the headcanon that Lyrus is Doc's son and that the two are pretty close. When Lyrus was around a year and so old, his mother (possibly a ginger cat, maybe sister to Embers dad?) died from a riverside battle that didnt go so well. Despite the constant fights, I believe that the Cattails world is less deadly than the warrior, and the few deaths that happen are mostly accidents. Doc had already been a healer back then, but his mates death made him even more dedicated to his job and created a love for helping others. He also mentions how he loves Orange because it reminds reminds him of Marigold and its healing abillities, but perhaps it also reminds him of his Ginger mate.

Now I don’t know what most think is Alisa backstory, but in my own perspective is that she became a leader early in her life. Something she wasn’t ready for when the original leader and soothsayer(seer? Forgive for forgetting) had left for their own travels. So more often than not she looks to Oracle for advice, though her serious nature is more a safe guard.

I have 5 stars with Nil and he said,
"you know, I have tried to get rid of my horns many, many times.
But every time I managed to break them off or get a piece out of them, the next morning the pieces have vanished into thin air and the broken pieces have grown back.
It's strange. There must be magic involved, right?"

Alisa has mentioned longings for travel and that she has aspirations to be with the sea/ocean. I think the line is "The ocean calls to me but my duties keep me here..." and there are other lines about her affinity for water. I'd like to think she used to go to the island in her youth and perhaps even explored the mines which further enticed her to be an adventurer. If anyone is familiar with Moana, I kinda think that was more or less Alisa's life but ultimately her duties to her colony outweighed the longing for the sea/adventure. I'm not sure what forced her to that position but maybe the previous leader passed away or left and she was the only available cat of age (not too old or too young) so she got stuck with it.

Slip has mentioned (on numerous occasions) being an old cat and also being a warrior although he's kinda settled down. One thing of note though is that his den is described as so dark that you can't see inside it. My headcanon is that Slip's blind but due to his Mystic clan heritage, he has enhanced senses that help him navigate. He's blind so oddities like him have a completely dark den is negligible to his disability due to his gift. He was able to be a warrior and fought (fights?) in skirmishes well enough to come home relatively unscathed. However, I think he had fears that his gift would eventually fail him so he used the excuse that he was "getting old" (despite looking still young) as a reason to stop going out and doing battles as frequently. I don't recall any lines of dialog where he describes how things "look" but mostly how they make him feel or describes things with other senses. He also even describes things based upon things Alisa has told him (dragonflies) so it leads me to believe that he might know about things because others told him what they looked like.

Loving Slips theory!
Mossie could have an interesting storsy as well.
In Seri's first gameplay, she started at the Forest colony (well there was no other available at the time) with Mossie, who had a crush on Scout (tom in that verse). At one point, Scout told Mossie that he didnt like it when cats pretended to be something they werent to impress other cats, omethign that Mossie did by constatly try to bring Scout pray and develo hunting a lot specfically for that.
Couple more episodes were released, and when the beta came out Seri began a new save file with Creek. At one of the episodes, one of the commenters suggested that Mossie might have joined the Mystic colony after something that happened with Scout (to fit veryones version they could be just friends)
I know Mossies npc just wasnt in Forest colony and thats all, but it could make an interesting backstory
