I know in some games like Stardew valley if I don't give the other cats gifts of a bit their friendship decreeses :/ is that the same for Cattails?

If you don't talk to other cats for a while, their friendship will decrease. If you don't give them gifts, their friendship will stay the same as long as you continue to talk to that cat.
