NPC system?

This had been on my mind a lot lately when it comes to Cattails -- how will NPCs work? I know characters in the Forest Colony exist and are marriageable, but what if you join another colony/make your own? Will there be more marriageable NPCs by end game? It's just a question that's been irking me for a while; I want to be friends with cats and make my own colony as well! Will NPCs in the Forest Colony decide to leave if they wish? Will your mate leave with you?

Sorry for going extreme with the questions, I'm just really excited!!

What we do know from the kickstarter is there will be 8 player created NPC
(5 non marriageable and 3 are marriageable) as for the rest it's still mostly a mystery about the current NPCs if they are marriageable or not.
