I knew there had to be more dragonflies. There's also catfish, but I've never seen any. I thought turtles were rare, but quite a few items are harder to find like cardinals and bluejays.

i was trying to catch a cardinal earlier, but i missed it. i got so sad!!!

also, where do you find turtle shells?? i've never seen them!! i also havent seen black rabbits. is there a certain area their in??

Most of the turtles I've caught were in bottom two tiles of the map, Beach West and Beach Central. I've also seen a few in the swamp area though I forget which specific location. The great thing is even if they notice you, you can still outrun them. You can find black hares on the beach too, I've usually found those close to water.

The orchard, south of the sacred temple, is a good spot for bluejays and cardinals. I saw a red dragonfly, but sadly it fled the map before I could catch it. :^(

these are such awesome tips!! and yeah i was thinking earlier since ive managed to outrun toads before, that turtles would probably be really easy to outrun. my lucky friend splash, who also owns alpha, managed to catch a turtle as one of his first prey!!

im gonna try and catch one of those black hares. also im pretty sure i've caught a red dragonfly before?? i was really happy when i saw that it was a rarer one!!!

do you know which items/prey are the best to sell for mews???

Bluejays and cardinals are worth the most, but I like hoarding all of mine rather than selling. I do like hunting for black hare and doves because they're both worth 5 mews, and respawn fairly quick. The beach is my favorite hunting spot because you can get both of those there, plus turtles and fish. Catnip is worth 15, but I like saving those for gifts, all the cats like them.

Once you max out on hunting and foraging it's really easy to find items, you could just sell everything and get tons of mews. Check out the op post for more values.

If you hunt for awhile at canyon creek there's a chance to find a cardinal I've caught 2 there so far.
I also spotted a jay bird at canyon mesas but I wasn't able to get it.

I'm on year 3 so far, with around 30hrs of gameplay, oh man.

It can be slow and difficult in the beginning, but after upgrading your skills a couple of times it gets much easier. I did quite a lot of starving, drowning, and dying in battle for the first few seasons. For a while my health was constantly below 20%. You can still keep your cat if you die, which I like, though you lose all items in your inventory.
