It's time (a few days early, haha) for the July developer update!
Beta v0.50 is out now for our beta-tier backers. Included are Events, additional accessibility features, expanded Rival Marriage-related things, and more!
just to let you know, the example mod archives seem to be broken! i get this error when trying to open or extract them.
Hmm, I was able to download and extract the .zip folder for "new emblem.zip" a moment ago... Have you tried re-downloading the file? It could have been corrupted during the download to your computer.

I made a mod and it doesn't work, I tried to create a mod folder but it doesn't work, then I tried putting the mod file into the herb recipes folder(because my mod only changed a few herb recipes) but it still doesn't work! What should I do? I put the mod into a new folder in the gameresources folder... Please help 😭
The /mods folder must be placed in the UserAppData directory (on Windows this defaults to %LOCALAPPDATA%/Cattails_Wildwood_Story); the /mods directory should live alongside at the same directory level as the /saves folder and /colors folder.

Just gonna jump in here to mention two more quality of life features I'd add to my suggestions:
- Increasing the hitbox for setting fertilizer in the garden / maybe I'm just clumsy but super often I miss the dirt patch by just a few pixels and then have to pick up the item again, select it in inventory, yada yada. Just makes it harder to do one all patches in one "swoop" and have it feel satisfying. It's just a minor thing but it does cause a bit of unnecessary frustration.
- Picking up or putting in multiple items in storage / Perhaps the ability to transfer stacks or choose how many to take, as with shop mechanics. Currently it's just kinda all or nothing, which is still useful, but not when I wanna take 50 rocks out of storage and spend a minute clicking. Maybe this feature exists already, but if so there's no button prompt shown for it.
That's all :3
Thanks for the feedback! To store/retrieve a stack at a time, hold the sneak button (shift on key, left trigger on gamepad by default)

Hey FutureSomebody! Thanks for your comment, I'm very glad you enjoyed the demo!
Good recommendations, for #2 I had not considered how the watering can would imply that the garden needed watered. That's a good point. #3 - you can change the global GUI scale in the game's Video Options, which will affect text as well
Appreciate your feedback! 😸

Hey! I'd be happy to answer your questions.
1. Krampy is very near and dear to our hearts. They are indeed a Kickstarter-backer-created-NPC, but the creator is a friend of mine (and former roommate) who I keep in touch with, so we naturally talked about if Krampy could make it into the sequel when we started development. As for why Krampy was chosen for the plush/certain marketing materials, Krampy is distinctly "Cattails"; if we chose pretty much any other cat from the game for the plush, for instance, it would just look like a generic cat plush. That beaky mask is quite unique! 2. Cliffs in the Build Menu were originally planned (and about 80% implemented at one point!) However, we ultimately decided against providing this tool as it complicated the NPC schedule pathing considerably. A waterfall decor item could technically be added but at this point with no cliffs it wouldn't be easy to place in a good spot.

Thanks! Unfortunately this is a known issue with the development tools we use that at this time we cannot work around. Switching audio sources in general will cause this issue to crop up, but a quick restart of the game should address the issue if it happens again.
