Rain World Guide
Player Types:
The Monk: The easier mode of the game. This is suggested for beginners.
The Survivor: The classic white slug-cat. The mode for those who want a slight challenge or are experienced with the game.
The Hunter: The harder mode of the game. This can only be unlocked after completeing the survivor run. The hunter also requires a higher food amount and is mainly a large animal carnivore, although it can take some food from plants and bats.
Enemies/Foes/Predators:
Green Lizard: The Normal Lizard. Does not have any special ability, but is mainly a tank and can take hard hits. Tameable: Yes, with a blue lizard.
Purple/Magenta/Pink Lizard: Default lizard. Can climb poles but thats really all. Tameable: Yes, with 1-3 cicadas.
Blue/Light Blue Lizard: Basically an upgraded pinkie. Can climb on the back walls/backround, also has a reasonably long tongue to grab you. Tameable: Yes, with a centipedes.
White/Invisible Lizard. Stay away from at all costs. Can turn invisible and surprise attack you, also has an EXTREMELY long tongue. Tameable: Yes, with around 1-3 Scavengers, Cicadas or Lantern Mice.
Salamander/Axolotl. Stay away from if you can. They are usually found around the water (Also somewhere near the Sewer/Garbage area) swimming. Salamanders can also climb poles and have long tongues. Some are a dark purple unlike what is seen in the picture, but to identify them easily make sure they have the feathery gills. Tameable with jetfish.
Pole Plants: Dangerous. Look like poles. Your yellow worm friend may point out the danger to you, but if unsure of one, throw a rock at it. Kill them with spears, there is a glitch to retrieve the spear too. Will put that in the glitches section.
Vultures. Dangerous. You can hide in tunnels to escape from them, but stay away from the entrance if hidng as they can stick their head in. Tameable: Will Test.
(Big) Noodlefly. Neutral predator, hostile once attacked. Basically a mosquito, but will charge at you with it's spike on its head, killing you instantly if hit. Tameable: n o, but there are eggs around the map which can give you babies, though they dont grow.
Monster Kelp. Be wary of it. If you get too close, it will attack you, exactly like a pole plant, but you can trick a lizard to enter the plants and it will kill them, also removing the plant.
Daddy Long Legs. They seem like they'd be passive, but daddy long legs are not nice. Stay away from their tentacles, as they will grab you and kill you. if caught, try to get a spear, stab the Daddy long Legs and make a run for it!
Worm Grass. Some nasty grass that'll latch onto you when touched. One or two strands of worm grass won't be enough to kill you, but being grabbed by multiple will lead to death. Try to avoid if you can.
Neutral/Passive:
Cicada: A blue bug that flies. You can grab it and when you jump you are lifted slightly higher. Can be killed and then used to tame some lizards. Is very heavy when killed.
Eggbugs: A large cockroach like creature. Cannot attack, but can climb on walls and moves at a fast pace. Can be killed for food. (Eat the eggs on its back.)
Grapple Plants (Custom name.) A medium-sized plant with a flower-like head. When attacked, it will shoot out small bug like creatures, which will then latch onto you, freezing you in place if a lot grapple you.
Bats. A small creature that can be found nearly everywhere. Not harmless. Edible.
Hazers. Small squid like creatures that can be thrown (when alive) or stabbed (when alive) to create a smokescreen, useful for escaping other creatures. They can be eaten when dead to restore 1 hunger.
Snails. Not dangerous, but can be annoying in situations. When you are close to them, they will pop, stunning you, causing knockback and completely throwing the items off your hands. They do not die after this, so be wary.
Squidcada. A stronger version of cicadas. When grabbed, they give a higher jump boost. They are not edible, but are useful for transportation in some areas.
Vulture Grubs. Vulture Grubs are small, green grubs that crawl around the floor. They are very slow, and can be killed with a spear and eaten. A dead vulture grub is shown in the picture.
Centipedes (Small.) Small Centipedes can be killed and eaten, but be careful, holding an alive (small) centipede for too long will cause them to shock you and run.
Scavengers. Intelligent creatures that are similar to Slug-cat. These creatures can climb walls and can travel like slugcat, but cannot jump. They can store spears on their back and other items on their belt. Some Scavengers have spears with red flags on them, this will EXPLODE when thrown. If you attack a Scavenger, grab on, steal a spear/any item of theirs they will RAGE and try to kill you. Do NOT annoy them as you will get very furious. When killed, they drop their items and you can use them. You can make scavengers passive by giving them pearls (Any colour)
Long Black Worms (Custom Name.) Long black worms that do nothing whatsoever, except give you items for sandbox mode and worlds for the arena. If the diamond appears blue (shown in picture) it will give you a sandbox item, if gold, it will give you an arena map.
Edible
Bats. The classic black flying creatures. Can be found nearly everywhere. Easy to catch (sometimes...) and can also be caught by throwing rocks (knock them out) or spears (stab them) out of the air and can then be eaten. Restore one hunger.
Fruit. Delicious and fruity. Are basically like bats. Restore one hunger. Can be found nearly everywhere. Can be knocked down with spears and rocks.
