So... I know its really frowned upon sometimes but I never really found too much fault in it. When your a really big fan of two things and you want to see if they can work together why not go for it? Really creative ideas, experiences and art can stem from them. Even if you can't create the idea, expressing/talking bout it is pretty fun. I believe the only time it can get too intense is when obsessiveness turns into fights of what can or cannot be combined.
What are your guy's favorite fan combinations? Either ones that you've come up with or like to follow? One I came up with ages ago was a story for Avatar the Last Airbender and Danny Phantom... though I had to end part way cause school was taking up more time. One of my favorite crossovers I like to follow/keep an eye on revolve around Hetalia (a japanese anime about the world summarized in humanized stereotypes) and Harry Potter.
Back when I was younger I used to imagine the Warriors book series combining with the Magic Tree House series... not sure how that worked though I was too young to remember everything bout that idea XD

I never really understood why people thought it was stupid to combine to fandoms. I always thought it was a good way to get creative, and that when fanart ended up looking strange it always had more to do with the creator instead of the actual idea. Personally, I always wanted to combine Wings of Fire and Elder Scrolls. With skyrims plot revolving around dragons the tribes would fit well, and through the worlds reliance of destinies and prophecies through the elder scrolls Wings of Fires plotline would make sense too. I also just want to see a picture of Miraak riding a Nightwing into the sunset.

Crossovers are frowned upon?? What mad fandom-hating universe is this coming from?
In the fan spaces I frequent (mostly a few tags on ao3, and tumblr-but following ppl with interests similar to me so I dont see drama, and recently twitter) crossovers are fun, and usually people from both fandoms enjoy them, even if one of the faandoms in the crossover is new to them.
Right now I'm on a big My Hero Acadamia kick, so anything crossing that with one of my long time fandoms (Danny Phantom, Fullmetal Alchemist) is a huge hit with me.
One fic I've been following, for years, (it's a series, the author takes breaks to avoid burnout) has gone from a two fandom crossover to a huge multifandom crossover - all while still keeping the central plotline and fandom/characters in focus, but letting the characters from the crossovers shine in the parts of the series they appear in.
I can sort of see why in Warriors fandom crossovers might have a stigma - cat fandom doesn't necessarily mesh well with human based fandom - but I think it would be really cool to see interpretations of Warriors crossovers with other fantasy/wild-animal series! There's plenty out there; it's practically it's own genre at this point.
There's a huge amount of potential!
