Lyrus curled up in his beautiful den and let out a purr. He was successful in writing the most beautiful poem for the rose he saw in the secret temple, and the sun has set, leaving him and the rose in the moonlight. Finally back home, the blue tom hoped for an even more beautiful dream as sleep cradled him in much needed rest.
opening gray eyes, he was surprised to be in the sky. Stars were all around him, up and down, as far as he could see. it was dark, but there was some blue aurora lighting the area. Lyrus took in a sharp breath to resist crying at the beauty.
"Hello Lyrus." a female voice called gently to him. He turned to see a beautiful black and gray tabby. she was a bit transparent, looking like she was made of the stars themselves as they blended into her fur, with green eyes, but white pupils. the tom swallowed dryly as the she cat approached him. was she coco's friend? "My name is Lavenderheart of starclan, formally in a clan called Waveclan." she spoke in her soft, yet, distant voice.
clan? Lyrus thought. He had only heard that name from his Mother, but forgot what exactly what the word meant.
"I've come bearing news for you and your leader. I have already told him, but it is big news for you as well." Lyrus waited in anticipation.
"big news? for Lyrus?" he finally spoke, wanting to conform. Lavenderheart nodded. "you have a sister, Lyrus, and she is coming to join your cla- I mean...Colony." She tripped over the unfamiliar word. the Tom felt his world spin.
"Lyrus does not have a sister...right?" he asked. "it is much to take in." Lavenderheart started. "I can show you, if you so please."
After Lyrus nodded, the area turned white. He closed his pained eyes from the brightness. after a while he open them again for the scene in front of him and widened more. In front of the two cats layed his mother. Two kittens laid beside her, one bigger than the other, looking like a month apart. there was also A fluffy white male with blue eyes and a few scars.
"Please no RiverTail! She needs me!" his mother, harper, Cried out to the tom. shielding the two kittens with her tail.
Rivertail's ears flattened and eye's narrowed. "you said that about the first kit. you said we may have another for me to take back to my clan." he stated. "I am not leaving without her."
"If you ever loved me, you WILL let me keep both Lyrus and Lyric!" she cried out.
Lyrus couldn't believe his ears. his father?! his sister!? they were separated!?
"WE were a mistake Haper! I thought I loved you, but my clan comes first! she is Mothkit, not lyric, and she is coming with me. We had a deal." the white tom hissed. "my mission was to check what these "colonies" were, not to stay!" Harper looked away with tears, as she shifted her tail to reveal the smaller kitten. she was more pastel then Lyrus, with a few spots of white.
Rivertail picked up the sleeping kit and turned and left without a word.
Lyrus violently woke up out of breath. the overwhelming news shook him to the core. his father was a clan cat!? why didn't mother ever tell him about his sister?! There was no way Lyrus could go back to sleep at this point, so he decided to start the day early.
he groggily made his way towards Ember's shop for breakfast. he never really hunted, and just used his mews to buy a mouse or two.
"ah, Lyrus, you're up early." he heard Mayor purr out to him. "good. I need everyone to gather around for an announcement." he stated loud enough for all cats to hear. after gathering around, Mayor cleared his thought. "I have gotten a message that a new cat will be joining us in our colony. Lyrus's sister, Mothfrost."
Chapter 1:
Everything was quiet besides the sound of the ocean waves crashing into the shore. Some cats were hunting in the low tide for small fish, while others relaxed on shore or in the caves that sheltered them.
On top of a stone, A white cat barring some battle scars was looking over the clan. He has just finished preparing the patrols for the morning, and has sit down to think of his plan. Rivertail sighed to himself. there has been chatter in the clan that he, the deputy, broke the warrior code and had kits with a different clan or with a kitty pet.
his ears flattened. yes, the rumors were semi true, but the others would not properly accept his mistake. He worried they would find out that Mothfrost, was indeed, his kit and When he first took her in, he had told them that she was an abandoned kit the two legs didn't want, and that he took her into the clan out of pity.
But there seemed to be resemblance to the both of them that started the rumors. Rivertail gave a soft hiss, not seeing anything that could be pointed out as the same to him besides the blue eyes, white patches of fur, and her abillity to sneak and heal relatively fast. Unfortunately, his clan mates were smarter than he thought. So now, his plan was to get rid of her, so any questioning will come to an end and the subject will be dropped and forgotten. Of course, he couldn't just kill her, he cared just enough to let his own kit live.
The deputy stood up. "that's it!" he exclaimed. the plan came to him and made his way to Seaclan's leader Spottedstar. Spottedstar was a proud bengal with a cream pelt and brown spots. green eyes locked on Rivertail as he entered his den.
"Spottedstar. I have a message from starclan." the tabby spoke with a bow of respect to his leader.
"Starclan?" Spottedstar questioned. "You are no medicine cat, why and how did starclan give YOU a message?" there was a flash of suspicion in the leaders eyes, but almost vanished instantly. Rivertail is a loyal and trusting deputy, why would he lie?
Rivertail shook his head. "there were no details. only to visit and spend a few days with the moon stone. I will not go alone, I will bring your former apprentice Mothfrost."
"Mothfrost?" the bengal questioned. he knew of the rumors, but shook his head. "Mothfrost is a strong warrior. I hope you two will have a safe journey." Spottedstar finished and waved him off with a flick of his tail. Rivertail left to get Mothfrost, a smile growing on his face.
Chapter 2:
They have been walking for a while now. it was almost dusk as Mothfrost followed Waveclan's deputy for some mission. at first, she thought it was to the moonstone, but took a few to many turns and are now heading to the east. her paws ached a little but nothing to bad.
"So Rivertail...? where ARE we going? what's this mission starclan gave you?" her voice was as quiet as always. Rivertail was silent for awhile, so Mothfrost didnt think she'd get an answer. They have never really spoken to each other much before...why would he choose her to go? why not his mate or kits? surely they were stronger.
"I am taking you to your new home." Rivertail finally spoke up. Shocked, before Mothfrost could continue, he spoke again. "Those rumors are true. you are my kit, and I can't have you around anymore to ruin my life." his tone was cold and pierced the she cat's heart. "I had you after Songbird had my other kits. In a place called Forrest colony is your home."
Mothfrost Couldn't speak. she had heard the rumors before but...she sighed heavily and decided speaking was a lost cause. "We will arrive in 3 days. keep up." Rivertail never looked behind him.
Chapter 3:
It's been days since the two clan cats have been walking and they have only rested the night before. finally after walking the woods, a swampy area, and some rivers, they were just about there. Everything on mothfrost's body ached from this journy of never ending silence. Really only speaking when needed, like, when they stumbleded in a camp in the swamp. those cats were definitely odd and the swamp wasn't pleasant in her opinion. to damp and dark. The leader was nice at least, offering an escort and some food, but Rivertail declined. "we're here." The white tom stopped infront of some bushes next to an opening.
The blue cat took a deep breath as Rivertail's gaze finally rested on her. He seemed to study here before leading the way inside the clearing into the camp.
The camp was....stunning. the gentle breeze blew and she could hear a stream. The summer air was crisp and warm and bugs flew around without a care. she could see a few dens before they were stopped but a brown tom with green eyes. "Who are you and what do you want? this is the forest colony." he stated firmly.
"My name is Rivertail. I'm looking for Harper." The white tom's ears flattened but kept his body calm.
"Never heard of her." The guards eyes narrowed with suspicion and his claws out. Rivertail was about to go into defense When a new voice chipped in.
"aahhh~ we have been waiting for you." A blue tom seemed to come out of nowhere, Though after Mothfrost saw a den just next to them, and went in between. "Haper is my Mother."
Rivertail blinked in surprise, a clear shocked expression on his scarred face. "....Lyrus..?" he questioned in a small voice. The tom then walked around the blue cat, studying him. "hmm lanky legs...skinny and nimble...just like.." he mumbled and stopped. "Where is harper." he demanded.
Lyrus was silent and his gray eyes clouded with a twinge of sadness. "She has passed a while ago..." Rivertail took in a sharp breath. before shaking his head in disbelief and dug sharp claws in the earth below him.
"This is Mothfrost..your sisiter...Mothfrost....you will stay here." Rivertail had a more distant tone in his voice and nodded his head to Mothfrost. before she could speak he turned and left.
Lyrus let out a purr and approached his sister not minding Rivertail. "Mothfrost? pleased to meet you. I am your dear brother Lyrus~"
The world was spinning as thoughts as fast as lightning raced in her mind. everything ached, she would no longer return home, she had a brother, Rivertail's her father, Her mother's dead. Mothfrost started hyperventilating and she seemed light. the last thing she saw was Lyrus shocked as her ears rang and everything went dark.
