Hello everyone~
My name is Shadow (well, nickname, though that's a bit obvious I guess), I'm a 23-year-old Warriors fan from Florida and a veteran roleplayer. I started roleplaying, hm... about nine-and-a-half years ago. It doesn't sound like long, but I've experienced a lot during that time. It was around the time, or maybe a year or less after, I first discovered Warriors (thanks to my mum), and most of the roleplays I've been in have been related in some way to those marvellous cats. <3 Lately I've been roleplaying rather exclusively in a group on deviantArt, let's just call it TGB, but I've been missing some regular Warriors content for a while. It's just hard to find other roleplays when TGB takes up so much of my time, and I have other priorities outside of the online world.
I've meddled a bit in Warriors fanfiction, and for the past year, I have been working on-and-off on a rather in-depth story. I won't say much more about it, other than it's Warriors-based and involves scientifically accurate prehistory. Considering the Erins' position on fanfiction in the past, I don't know if it will ever be uploaded outside of a personal Google Doc, but perhaps when I manage to finish it things will have changed. *shrug*
I also like to do artwork, especially colouring. Most of my recent art has been TGB-related, but I've also started meddling in mandalas and I hope to do more colouring pages. I have a whole pile of Dover colouring books that need more love, I just haven't had much motivation for quite a while.
I also do crafts when the spark hits me - embroidery (particularly cross-stitch) is my favourite, but I've been learning to weave, and I occasionally dabble in knitting. I like to use my hands, basically. Outside of textiles, I've made myself a set of wooden geomancy sticks for divination, and an Awen pendant out of playdough, aluminium wire, and hot glue (it was all I had).
Also, I'm a casual gamer...in the sense that I don't really do competitive. Usually, though, I like to make up my own stories within the game, and they can be quite complex and deep. The one exception is Pokemon - I still don't play competitively, but I use a lot of competitive logic and builds when I play the core games. I have spreadsheets in my Google Drive and on flashdrives that list all sorts of details and plans and trackers...it gets a little crazy, heh. I do the same with Warriors, though - rosters, calendars, timelines and event trackers, random generators (I actually made a prey generator for hunting parties, based on season, weather, number of cats, skill level of each cat, clan, biome, territory modifiers...) just...spreadsheets everywhere! I love it though, I enjoy spreadsheets and making spreadsheets. I especially love making generators and automated trackers/etc, formulae are fun~
Anyway, this introduction is getting a bit long, so I'll call it good for now. Feel free to ask me anything, though! As long as it's within the rules, of course.
PS - You might have noticed I use a fair-ish amount of British spelling. I'm not British, but I've managed to pick up bits and pieces thanks to British tv shows (the ones we can get here in the US, via BBC America, PBS, Netflix, or Amazon) and Neopets. I just prefer it, honestly...dunno why. *shrug*
