I'm back with another bug. Windows 11, Beta 0.1.0: Sometimes, my buddy just gets stuck. I'm not sure why, but they get stuck looking straight upwards. I've had it happen two ways. One is directly after using a tunnel, where they just stand directly below the tunnel facing up and don't move. The other is next to a harvestable herb, where they stop directly to the left of the herb, facing straight up. They don't move or collect the herb, but they do end up being fixed when I collect the herb. Leaving the map tile also fixes them in both cases. Hope this helps.
I know learning about bugs is helpful, but something about doing it so frequently makes me feel like I'm trying to make Cattails look bad...

Thanks! I've got the "stuck on tunnel" bug fixed in the dev build, should have that patched up next time a build goes live. I haven't found a way to replicate the herb sticking bug, but I'll try to look into that one soon as well.
Thanks for your reports!

Hmm... I suppose I should clarify that they do appear stuck. As in, I move away and they don't follow. I think they're trying to pick up the herb, but can't for some reason (given, I'm no expert so...)? Now that I think more on it, I believe I've only gotten it to happen in East Central, on one of the herb spawns next to the transition to the Town. And only when leave the Town. Maybe that has something to do with it?

Thanks, that's very helpful info! Can you take a screenshot of the general location? I may have accidentally put it in a spot that is difficult for the buddy to reach.

Thanks, that's very helpful info! Can you take a screenshot of the general location? I may have accidentally put it in a spot that is difficult for the buddy to reach. I manage to get lucky and got even better. Managed to get it to happen. Krampy even walked over to it before getting stuck: It appears to be consistent. I left the area and approached it from different directions, left and enter the map from different tiles. Even talked to Krampy while they are like that. The moment Krampy notices that Licorice, if they approach from the left side, they get stuck like that and nothing gets them out aside from picking up the Licorice or leaving the map tile. However, approach from the right, and they are just fine.

Thank you! That's super helpful. I'll move that particular herb spawn location in the devbuild so this won't happen in the future.

Um, found another herb spawn that buddies can't get to. This daisy is in Meadow Outskirts: I was planning on adventuring, but we can protect a daisy, too...

Appreciate it, I've discovered the issue and this will be patched up in the next build for all herbs.

Welp, here's another spot, just in case you haven't found it. It seems buddies (or perhaps just kittens, not sure) get stuck on this dead shrub in Beachside Woods:

What is it with me and getting buddies stuck? I'm not entirely sure what is happening here. So, I've had situations where I sneak up on an enemy, and press lunge either just as him buddy does or just after. However I did that, the result was the game counting both lunges. But here... I think I did the same thing and now my kitten's stuck on the bat or maybe in the wall? Or both? Either way, they aren't hurting each other and my lunge didn't go through. I was able to attack the bat, but it wouldn't hurt me. Once the bat was dead, my kitten was free. You... need some help there, Marco?

Why am I like this? Like, really? Managed to get Spark stuck and I'm not sure how... They picked up the marigold you see next to them, but my inventory was full at the time. They didn't get fixed until I move on to the next floor. So... hope that helps? I really don't have much this time. Spark? You following me? No?

Thanks, this bug is fixed in the dev build for (hopefully) all possible Buddy-getting-stuck conditions. We'll have it patched up in the April update (Beta v0.20), due out April 1.

Well, I'm back. Windows 11, Beta v0.40. The picture kind of sums it up. I think I got Coco stuck on the cliff terrain. I'm playing around to see if it happens everywhere, but it seems that the your buddy will get stuck on the terrain if your pressing yourself against the top of a cliff edge when you transition. I've only test this on the transition between Volcanic Basin and Caldera, but I'm going to see if the mountains do the same. Edit: Can confirm. It works on other tile transitions. Definitely a terrain thing. Coco... The lava's frozen over, Coco. No, I have no idea how, but given I'm not horribly burning, I think it's safe.

Well, here we are again. I managed to get this to happen before with one of my kitten, but Elli's stuck on the bush here. Edit: It's finicky, but I was able to get this one to happen somewhat reliably. You have to transition from Beach West to Beachside Woods in just the right spot. Managed it with Salem this time. You'd be surprised how often this happens. So... You need someone to help untangle you from that?
