 Is there a guide video that shows the best way, to place walls around the custom colony?

For future reference, most of the Cattails guide videos in existence are made by Spottedleaf and can be found on this thread. If she hasn't done one on a particular topic, you can look it up and see if anyone else has. While I don't know if other people have made videos on the topic, I know that Spot hasn't done a video on Custom Colonies yet (much less specifically placing walls). So I'll give you my advice:

First, decide where the wall is going to be. Around the perimeter of the tile? Around a den? As a divider/"fence" of sorts? Make sure you know where any entrances/exits are going to be. I usually mark the edges of the exit with a wall, but if you don't have enough you can mark it with an item (bugs are recommended).

Then, carefully start placing your walls. Get the position of a single wall how you like it, place it, and then inch over to the side without touching any other direction. That sounds confusing, so here's an example. Say you're making a horizontal line of walls and you're starting at the left. Place the first wall and slowly inch over to the right (only press the 'right' key/button) until the box turns green. I'm not sure how easy that would be on a switch, but try your best. When you go to turn, start inching in the other direction (in this example, let's say up). As you continue to go right, also start going up, continuing the pattern until the vertical line is in the spot you want all your walls to be.

If you start building, run out of walls, and come back to it, it may be hard to continue at the same spot you left off. That's why I prefer to do one side all at once. I think each location is 30x30 tiles, so buy about 30 walls before you start building. Maybe 35 to be safe.

Would it be of any help, to have a look at the other colonies, to see how their walls are set?

It might. Your best bet is probably Mystic, since Mountain doesn't have walls and Forest's are covered in stuff that make it hard to really see.
