It should have updated atuomaticly. Just talk to the forest guardian to start your colony

If you've already talked to the forest guardian and it's still not working, your game might not have updated.
Sometimes it can get interrupted! Though I haven't had this happen often.

The quickest way to tell if your game is updated or not is to go to the title screen and try to load your game. If you click on your save file and it asks if you want to load, copy, or delete your save file, then you have the update. If you click on your file and it just loads your game without giving you options, then you don't have the update.

To manually update the game, go into your steam library and right-click on cattails in your list of games. 
Click on "properties", and a popup window should come up. At the top of the popup click the tab that says "Local Files"
There should be a button that says "Verify Integrity of Game Files"
Click that. It should verify real quick and afterwards, the update should install automatically.

The only remotely "guaranteed" update will be bug fixes as the introduction of such a radically different gameplay system can be buggy. I don't really expect too much else except I hope for more dialogue and some other minor wishlist stuff.

I think it’s better to use this pre-existing thread, as it’s just the same question as before. Will there be updates or more content? I’m not exactly on the forums (then again, no one really is, right?) but I’ve played for a long while and want to find some clue as to what’s coming next from you guys. This game is great, even when I discount the bias imposed by Untold Tales upon me (and I’m near certain that it’d be preferred if that wasn’t eternally mentioned in conjunction with this game). It’s always going to be something I can come back to as well as the best suggestion I can give to others, but it’s losing my attention and I can’t help but wonder what, if anything, is coming up next. ~ a lost occasional player and guest poster
