So, I've avidly played the game. Making it to year 3 summer, when at LONG awaited last; Missy finally had kittens. At this point however, I feel like there isn't much left to do in the game besides grinding Mines and selling things for mews as well as completing the storyline which for me is half done. I've already maxed all my skills like... since year one. My cat never really goes hungry, and also has taken all available territory for the forest clan. All on Normal difficulty. The other clans, aren't all that interesting either they don't really acknowledge you've stolen all their spare territory. Your own clan doesn't even acknowledge you having kittens.
While looking at the steam achievements that are popping up every now and then; (although I already did quite a few before the achievements were released) I noticed one was stay alive 10 years. I'm already on year 3, and running out of things to do to keep myself interested. I do suggest quest systems, like what was in untold tales. The rewards could be crafting materials for den décor? It would give us a reason to store and collect things other then for selling. I never needed the garden upgrade since I had already taken over almost the entire map when the upgrade was put in the game.
Another suggestion, maybe harsh weather. Like in Harvest moon games if there's a storm you're character runs out of health and stamina much quicker or a typhoon where its actually required to plan ahead and store items for use that day. Like it snows, surely a cat could potentially be snowed in and have to be dug out or for it to be too cold for you to go outside.
I've always been super curious about the abandoned cottage and the willow tree, and i'm happy with the puzzles at these places but I can't help feeling like this game needs a bit more to keep people actively involved in it and keep playing it.
It could also be interesting to add a rival in the game. A love rival seems a bit clech'e, but nothing motivates me like beating another person! Perhaps another cat in another clan could be your un-dying rival. Determined to best you, and challenge you at every turn you make. Maybe even like stealing prey or herbs. I'd be pretty mad if I came on screen needing a herb and some jerk zips off stealing it right in front of me.
