WARNING: I ramble a lot but it's all for good reason to explain why I call all the cats warrior names and make so many warriors references despite it being cattails. It DOES have a point. ;3; Thanks for reading though if you took your time to read all of this! : D
---Explanation---
My cats name is Emberstar, she's a warrior cats OC of mine who's former name was Emberheart before leadership. I never properly drew her, but she's a ginger cat with a white chest for sure. (Still debating on white mittens or not, paw patterns.) She also has darker, sharp ginger stripes (Like a tabby) on the rest of her body, but the darkest of her markings are on her back. She's also a Somali mix, so she's got long hair on her tail, FLOOFY tails! I've had her for a few short years now, but before I changed her she was my character Lightstar from five years ago towards when I started being an artist. x'D Emberstar is from a story called "A rising Ember" that's only partially, mentally made but never really written down. It's meant to take place about 5-7 generations after the last released main book series. (However sense the Erin's are still writing, they keep being shoved farther and farther into the warriors future. x'D) Their clan Fireclan is- WAS- all six clans prior. (Six, because in my story the Tribe of Rushing Water eventually becomes Mountainclan after continuous struggles, but there's also a second tribe so the idea lives on.)
One day on a summer hotter than when they had to deal with the beavers, a forest fire raged across all territories of the lake clans. With little to almost no water in the lake and such dried out surroundings, many, many cats died to the point very few cats were around to really hold up each clan. So Starclan gave a prophecy to each living medicine cat in the clans that to survive they had to form together as one- for good. Not like Lionclan in the battle agents Bloodclan known as the Great Battle, not like the journey to the lake territories known as the Great Journey, this was for good and was known as the Great Merge. The clan was named after the fire that ruined almost everything, and after the great Firestar who gave his life about 1-2 generations prior to the fire.
The clan has five/six camps, as the mountain territory is still very far away lol. But each previous clans camp is just known as "Territory". Thunderclan's land is now known as the "Thunder territory" for example. Emberkit was born in the Thunder camp along with her friend Falconkit who was a couple moons older than her. Sense the beginning, Emberstar and Falconfrost had been close friends, and over time eventually more. Though the lake clans weren't the only cats to make the great journey, back in the land that was formally known as "The old Forest", Bloodclan thought the two-leg expansion would mean more scraps. But it only meant more of a struggle, their current leader, my OC Storm (Who is older than the books Storm. x'D When the books had a Storm character my jaw dropped, now it's just weird to say "IT WAS MY IDEA FIRST" without looking like I copied lol.) who is distantly related to Scourge (But not directly) had always listened to the old stories of how the forest clans fled even after winning the battle agents Bloodclan. Finally taking into account where they went, and one day taking the cats who would follow her in pursuit of the forest clans. She had no idea if they were still alive, but if they were it meant they found a good place to live- and a good place to shove them out. Though unlike Scourge's intentions, she didn't intend it would be instant. It would take time and study before she could make the clans crack, but when she arrived she found they were now one, which put a thorn in her problems...
Storm and the whole of Bloodclan live by the two-leg-place by the sun-drown-place. Often shoving cats over the cliffs into the sunsets scarlet waters (For more than just the sunsets coloring...) if disappointed by them, keeping their rather savage behavior... Bloodclan and Storm especially form the main antagonist in my story. ;3; And is even the reason Emberstar loses her first life.~
---CATTAILS NOW?!---
But for CATTAILS, as a side story, (Yes, I didn't forget it's all about Cattail's, lol) Emberstar receives a prophecy that the clans must continue to live on. Despite the lake clans becoming one massive clan, as well as with the former Mountainclan and even further into the past, former tribe... This meant, even as one large clan, if something else dangerous attacked them at a weak point- it would destroy the clans forever. There still always had to be multiple clans somewhere out there, and Emberstar was meant to spread the influence.
Sense Fireclan is so large, it does only have one leader but six deputies and six medicine cats. Each "Territory" of Fireclan kept it's single deputy and medicine cat who looks over that specific area the most. Helping the others, but keeping the help, balance, and order in check. Rather than a single clan deputy becoming the next leader once the former one loses their last life, they instead basically "Vote" upon which deputy is most likely suited to rise into leadership. A cat of that deputies "Territory" being picked to fill in that deputy slot who rose into leadership. Point is, Emberstar knows she can depend on these cats to keep her clan in check as she leaves to do as Starclan has informed her. Heading through the mountains, down towards the two-leg-place where she goes through scuffles and has to avoid Bloodclan, down into a waterway when the weather isn't exactly... Forgiving. This, even with her river territory training, overwhelms her where she's washed down river and nearly drowns before some cats save her and she wakes up to Doc and Lyrus making sure she's okay. ;3; (AY- CATTAIL'S NAMES!)
After learning of this cat "Colony" rather than "Clan", she realizes this must be the group of cats Starclan spoke about whom eventually form "Forestclan" instead of being the "Forest Colony". Along the way of teaching them the clan ways of life, she also learns and respects that of the "Colonies" ways of life. Like festivals instead of gatherings and other such things (Fireflies being past cats rather than just the stars.~). (In my game I often dismiss mews because I want the larger struggle in game play value, but that's just me lol.) Scout is the only one in my game who I pretend is someone else. Emberstar's old friend and mate, "Falconfrost". So if I ever drew Cattail's or wrote a story here on the forums building on it, I would talk like Scout is still there and have Falconfrost be another spoken of cat lol. It's because Scout was the closest looking cat you can "Marry" that was like my OC. (RIP, i'm so sorry Scout! I love you as your own char too!) Over time, cutting it short and to the point, the Forest Colony actually slowly get warrior names as the influence grows, and eventually call themselves "Forestclan". (I figured Doc is the med cat, duh. Mayor maybe a... Cloudstar? That's already a name used in books though so i'd rather it be something new, any ideas? And maybe Scout as Deputy, but sense the guards were added I might make Sarge deputy instead.)
Though with time, Emberstar learns that Bloodclan have been pressing down into the marshes towards where Forestclan had lived almost peacefully in their own little ways. Growing past the two-leg sun-drown-place and into more two-leg abandoned lands. Using their structures to protect them as well as harass other wild cats besides Fireclan. (I'm sorry Mystic Colony! But sense you wear weird little human like outfits, have a literal FENCE around your land, and are just the color red? YOU'RE TOO FITTING! Mystic Colony in my game are Bloodclan, but this doesn't mean all Bloodclan cats are bad! They're just a bit... Off, and scavengers. But still- a danger to the other cats. AKATERRITORIALBOARDERWARSANDSTUFF!!!)
While upland, Emberstar finds CLAN CATS and is taken aback. Learning that many generations ago, not ALL of Mountainclan had merged and joined with Fireclan! Some cats believed they had hardly any time as a clan and could continue to survive without the aid of the others sense the mountains hadn't been burned by the forest fires the lake territories did. So with a dispute and an argument, a small group of cats who believed they could make it on their own took a similar journey to Emberstar's. Heading down the mountains, through two-leg-place as at the time there were no Bloodclan cats who would be a major threat to them compared to two-leg-places other more manageable dangers. Around the river due to taking another path, until the land eventually grew again forming into new yet smaller mountains. Here the cats felt at home, and settled down. Forming the new Mountainclan. (And in game, it's the Mountain Domain!) Eventually, Emberstar tries to even help out Mountainclan feeling drawn to clan cats who already knew the ways. Being reminded and sort of checked up on rather than changing too far from Starclan's ways. Like having a guiding hand. Their territory had shrunken quite a bit, so when Emberstar started wanting to make sure Forestclan and Mountainclan would push back Bloodclan closer to Two-Leg place so the clans could have a fair amount of territory? Forestclan thought her to be a traitor.
This cat who had befriended them and lived with them compared to her own clan for so many moons, had just willingly started to help another clan who had given them trouble for years! She wanted them to work with their rivals? This was an outrage! She was giving them land that had previously been their large territory, so what if the other cats of Mountainclan had a small territory? If they weren't strong enough to keep what had been theirs from Forestclan before they were even a clan, then that was their problem.
Well? Emberstar did balance out Forestclan and Mountainclan's territories, but at a great cost. Not long after her mate Falconfrost had found her, apparently leaving Fireclan himself to find his mate who had been gone for moons. Not knowing if she was okay or not,- Forestclan shoved Emberstar out. She taught them the ways of the clans, and now that she was helping the enemy, it was time to show her they could stand up for themselves without a kit-sitter around.
Knowing that Emberstar was just trying to help, as the old clans used to do so even if they were rivals in the past. Mountainclan knew it was time to help Emberstar who was in great need. Allowing her to stay with them for the temporary time in the mountains where she continues to stay on her quest to stabilize the two clans until she knows not all will be lost if she leaves.
---Recap---
And that's how I made all this warriors stuff work in Cattails. ;3; Now, who's ready for a screenshot? Here's Emberstar getting cuddly with "Falconfrost" late at night after a hard days work of keeping the boarders under control and making sure there was enough prey at the fresh-kill pile for Mountainclan who is growing in strength. Almost enough to finally remain as equals with Forestclan who've gotten a little in over their heads. (I also figured festivals might just be considered gatherings, though idk how to explain "Bloodclan" being there yet, lol. x'D)
