Just a thought! I know in the beginning of the game, hunting can be a struggle -- especially for the first Winter! I found that by year 2, though, I'd built up a huge stockpile and was still catching so much excess prey that hunting started to feel a little pointless. It wasn't even worth it for me to sell since, well, I already bought out all the shop items. (hopefully more items will be added but anyway...)
What if there was a clan cache you could contribute to that had some sort of effect on the clan? Like, cache levels helped dictate how many clan cats came to help in battles or how strong those cats were? Cause battles became really easy too as the game progressed, especially with abilities unlocked.

This is a wonderful idea! I think if it also depleted over time, it would make the game just that little bit more challenging (for example over spring and summer you could stockpile loads, but as it depletes each day it wouldn't carry over into winter and make winter easy again).
Perhaps it should reset at the start of each season, and what you deposit isn't taken into account until the next day? At the excuse of 'last season's food went off' or something.

Hmmm..! I was kind of thinking there could be a max amount you could contribute in a certain time span and it depletes at a (presently undetermined) rate. Maybe another point system since, for example, mice are worth fewer hunger points than a fish. I... didn't think of how seasons would come into play but that's a really good point too!
And because I know the hunting is indeed difficult to get a hold on in the very beginning of the game, there could be a little leeway for a season or two. Like, "oh hey just focus on learning the ropes" and then once you get some time to get the swing of it "now that you've been here awhile you gotta contribute!"

I like the idea of the leeway... I imagine it'd work a little like Stardew Valley, like the event triggers on Day 1 of Year 2... though I don't think Cattails currently has a year counter.
I suddenly just thought that having a Stats page would be cools as well, saying how many of what you've hunted and how many days you've played... x3

There is actually! When you go to your save files, mine says for example for right, "Winter 5, Year 2." In the actual game, if you click where the season icon + day number is, it'll also tell you, again using mine for example, "It is evening / Winter 5, Year 2 / Sunny."

Oh wow! I had no idea That makes later-game events easier to program (and more likely to be programmed already... oUo) Thanks for letting me know! Maybe there could also be an event at the start of Year 3 (and every year after) where they celebrate what you submitted to the cache that year? Maybe that's too much xD

Oh man, this is a great idea! I'm not that well-stocked on food yet, but I imagine once I get to that point I might be! I always love seeing additional levels of interactivity in this sort of game :3
