The dark tabby let out a grunt in response, waiting a moment before following Nettletooth out to the edge of the water. He bunched his muscles and leapt out further to get a head start toward the intended spot, occasionally dipping below to scan the murky water beneath for any dangers. They wanted bigger fish but they weren't minnowbrained enough to go after anything TOO big, he didn't want to run into anything too big at all actually. Treading water, he glanced over his shoulder to see if the siblings had followed him out. It didn't matter much to him either way, but in his constant state of wariness it wasn't beyond his imagination that someone would tell him to go out far and then leave him to it.
The glance was so brief he could neither confirm or deny anything, instead, he gave the dark teal depths one last look over before diving down. As he swam further into the sea, it occurred to him that this was indeed a hunting 'patrol'...as in more cats than just him, but he had surged ahead without a thought. Nothing to do about it now, he said he was going to hunt and here he was, hunting.
(Ash, right now it's a little messy with everyone doing their own thing alone or in small groups. I'd say just jump in wherever)

Ohhh, it looks like you can feel the fuzz on him. I have a few animation frames leftover from an old abandoned project of mine and I used the attack animation to do a Eelstripe gif.

The sound of the medicine cat's laughter had just now registered with Eelstripe, his mind had narrowed in on the voice calling his name and he hadn't even noticed Quailmask's presence until she had gone. As Nettletooth explained his reasoning for breaking the sound barrier, or rather handed off the breakdown to his sister, Eelstripe curved his tail into a lazy arc as if in thought. He HAD just given the herring a crunchy, not so delicious sandy exterior when he dropped it. But it WAS Nettletooth's fault that had happened to begin with...still, he would have to replace the prey somehow. Shellfang seemed on edge, the usually self assured molly sounded almost shakey, maybe they still needed Quailmask if she was feeling ill?
"I guess my last catch is inedible now, so I don't really have much choice" He briefly flicked back his ears in annoyance, then gave a sigh of acceptance. "Where were you two planning to hunt?"

Ya'll be nice to my boy! :c Eelstripe should have just bolted back into the water, never to be seen again. Lived with the barracuda and tuna down in the deep, safe from loud noises.

Very lovely art! And another white cat with red eyes named Ghost! I imagine they'd be pretty confused if they ever met.

Making his way out into the water as well, Eelstripe made sure not to disrupt the training session going on not far off as he took in air and dived down away from the warmer water near the sun touched surface, his shadowy pelt seeming to melt into the shifting shadows of the sea. Kicking out with powerful legs to draw him deeper down where he saw rays of sunlight slant across silvery scales, there were many small, schooling fish here and the old and familiar prickle of mistrust traveled his spine. Common knowledge dictated that while schools of herring were a plentiful and easily catch-able fish for Seaclan, the same went for other predators in the sea. Finding himself in the middle of some shark's feeding frenzy would be unfortunate, granted the last sighting of a shark anywhere near the clan's hunting grounds was at least a moon ago. Still, he kept what senses that could be usable underwater alert.
After a few missed grabs, he finally sank his fangs into the head of one of the slim, silver little nuisances and jolted towards the surface. Breaking out to open air, he kept his jaws clamped on the herring as he padded back onto the beach with his pelt hanging down around him like black seaweed.

Ohhh, very nice, Mystic! Very spot on. I like the little 'heart' marking on Ripplepaw's chest, shortee.

You can add stripes if you want, Mystic! But I don't want to inconvenience you, I love your version regardless. <3
And thanks for the 'woah', Alesii. c:

Ahh, your iteration of Eelstripe made me draw my own version for fun. Wont post it here as I don't want to take over your thread, but there should be a thread for all Seaclan members to dump art.

I love Maine coons, Oriental longhairs, Lykois and Toygers.
The toyger modified black coloring is my favorite I think, with the black stripes on red fur. Black silver smoke is also very pretty. Plain black with white spotting also has a special place in my heart along with anything with the silver gene. Silver cinnamon is cool with the pale body and ginger stripes.

I love it! Thank you, Mystic. The way you draw paws is fantastic, especially on Eelstripe's picture.

A surprise border battle gone wrong, it turned vicious quick and she caught the bad end of it. Ironically the attackers were Mountain Domain cats and she had recently left to rejoin Mystic, I think they were probably upset by that. :c

Changed thread type to art dump for Ghost, as I enjoy doodling little bits and pieces of art for her.
