Crowfang watched Robinflight walk over to Juniperheart and sighed. She was jealous. She couldn't have a true friendship anymore like that, and the clan would probably kicks her out when they learned she was expecting. If she was close to Robinflight in when they would be born, it might be easier. But her kits would be much smaller than Robinflight's and it would be hard to explain where they came from. She retreated to her den for the rest of the day, sending out an apprentice if she needed herbs. The elders rarely bothered her, so that was good because they would recognize an expecting queen.
They days before the gathering passed quickly but Crowfang found excuses not to go. Robinflight was one of them. She was large enough that the kits were close to being overdue, and Crowfang wanted to be in camp in case things went wrong. Sweetstar didn't question her, but went to gathering even though she was developing some kind of sickness. Snow fell heavily on the lake, smothering everything in a thick white blanket of snow. The night after the gathering, Crowfang had terrible news for the returning cats. Honeytail and Violetdawn had both died from the cold and lack of prey. Crowfang cursed herself for not checking on the elders more but she knew Violetdawn had been sick and wished she had made the queen stay in the medicine den.

Crowfang perked her ears then sighed. "I don't know. When I woke up, all I could remember was this: They will know what to do when the crow and the robin take flight." She tucked her paws under her. "And.....I'm expecting kits." Dawnwhisker came out of the den and sent of the dawn patrol, and Sweetstar joined it for once, which meant she was feeling better. Leafpaw, Silverpaw, and Fuzzpaw joined the dawn patrol while the rest of the apprentices stayed inside the den. There was a commotion inside the nursery then Oakkit, Beetlekit, and Frostkit burst out on stubby legs and heavily blinking eyes. Crowfang watched Juniperheart herd them back inside for a moment before the older kits raced out and began playing tag in the clearing.

Crowfang made her way to the moonpool without trouble. It was almost moonhigh before she hauled herself down to the waters edge. Touching her nose to the water, she closed her eyes. "Welcome, troubled kit." Crowfang opened her eyes to see a scraggly toothed old she-cat standing over her. The she-cat nudged her. "I am Yellowfang, Thunderclan's medicine cat before Firestar was even leader." She narrowed her eyes. "You've heard the stories of Leafpool? The Thunderclan medicine cat, mate to Crowstar, mother to Lionstar, Hollyleaf, and Jayfeather? Well she has been down this path." A slender light brown tabby she-cat with a white chest and paws stepped forward. Leafpool dipped her head. "Do not fear Crowfang, while we have chosen you as Thunderclan's medicine cat, you will walk the same path I once did. I bore kits to Crowstar, and they became two fine warriors and a medicine cat that I trained myself." Crowfang got her to paws. "I'm having kits, but I have had a prophecy." The two older she-cat exchanged a glance then Leafpool spoke. "We were the ones who sent it. There is trouble coming, and your kits, as well as two more from your clan, will save the clans from being erased. We thought that after Skyclan rejoined us, the troubles would be over but that is not to be. A cat that once walked among Skyclan once knew that the sun would disappear, and he was right. But Sol did not control that, he only knew about it. When that day comes again, when all the kits are warriors, the clans will disappear once the sun comes back. They must bring the clans together, and remake the tribes." Crowfang felt her jaw drop open. Shaking her head, she paced. "But how can the kits protect he clans? The clans nearly broke apart once, and they barely survived." Yellowfang laid her tail on Crowfang's flank. "Relax, these six cats are not who you will think. They are special, cats so old in Starclan that many do not believe they even exist anymore. They will know what to do when the crow and the robin take flight." With that, they vanished and Crowfang woke on the shore, her mind whirling. She could remember meeting two medicine cats, but somehow, she couldn't remember anything they said but the last words. Crowfang spoke them aloud. "They will know what to do when the crow and the robin take flight." She thought about that as she made her way back home, stumbling often until she reached the camp. The sun was rising as she came through the tunnel and saw that not many cats were out yet. She picked out a scrawny thrush, her only meal since the morning before, and absentmindedly nibbled on it as she though.

Crowfang padded into her den and paced. Her thoughts were racing. Robinflight was having two kits, but she was worried that the queen had injured herself by falling. Crowfang stumbled as she felt something nudge her form the inside. Then she realized, I'm having kits too! That's what those kicks feel like! Sighing, she sat down with a thump and thought. Two queens in Thunderclan, both had sets of kits had non-Thunderclan father's. plus who ever Ivytwig's mate had been. She thought for a moment then sighed and spoke aloud. "I must go to the moonpool. The gathering will be here in five nights, so I must go tonight." With that thought in mind, she sprang up and immediately went to tell Sweetstar. When Sweetstar approved, she headed outside the camp and towards the Moon Stream.

Crowfang heard a thud and went running towards the sound. She saw Robinflight scrambling up and hissed. "You should not be climbing! Lay still!" Once Robinflight had laid down, Crowfang felt her stomach. She could feel the kits moving and sighed. "You're lucky you didn't fall any further." Unease made her spine prickle. Robinflight's stomach felt just like a larger version of the own feelings within her own stomach. Shaking her head, she gathered up the borage and marigold. "We have enough, you need to get back to camp. I want you in the nursery or the clearing until the kits are here, just in case that fall did something." She flicked her tail crossly. "And I could feel two kits very easily, so they might be here any day."

Crowfang sighed and followed her out. "The let me come with you. Could you help me find some herbs? I doubt there's any left but maybe the snow hasn't killed some." She laid her tail on her friends stomach then stumbled. She had felt a slight stirring in her own stomach. She shook her head. "Must've stumbled over a root." She sniffed around, distracted. What was that feeling? It almost felt like.....but no, she couldn't be having kits. She lost her thoughts as she found a small clump of borage.

Crowfang shook her head. "No, I just recieved my first prophecy from Starclan." She gave a big sigh and repeated it. "Something is about to change the clans, something will shake them to their roots. There will come the six, born from two mothers, who will tear the roots from the ground and scatter them across the sky." Her eyes widened into fear as she spoke. She shook her head. "I don't know whether I should tell Sweetstar, she's still recovering and it sounds like whatever kits this is talking about, their not born yet." Her tail thumped softly on the ground.

Crowfang padded out of her den, still in a daze. She knew it was a prophecy, but she had no idea what it could mean. Obviously, there would be six kits that would have a powerful affect on the clans but who were they? She walked for the camp exit near the nursery and didn't notice where she was walking until she ran in Robinflight. Shaking her head, she kinked her tail. "I'm sorry Robinflight, are you ok?" Her voice was drained, distracted, like her mind was elsewhere.

Over the next moon, Crowfang buried herself in her work. She kept an eye on Robinflight and the kits, Sweetstar recovered, and as the moon passed things began to be normal for the clan.
One night though, Crowfang woke with a start. It was freezing, the middle of leafbare now. She got up and padded to the entrance of the den, but nothing out there had woken her. Shrugging, she went back to her next but felt uncomfortable. As much as she shifted, she couldn't seem to lay right. Growling softly, she heaved herself to her paws and padded out to the clearing. Once outside, she gasped. There were four cats sitting in front of her, starlight frosting their paws. They spoke as four, but sounded as one. "Crowfang, do not fear. Something is about to change the clans, something will shake them to their roots. There will come the six, born from two mothers, who will tear the roots from the ground and scatter them across the sky." They blinked and vanished, leaving nothing behind but the echo's of their voices. Shaking slightly, Crowfang padded back to her nest and did not wake til morning.

After the second gathering after she had become medicine cat, Crowfang managed to sneak off to meet Splashheart. They met on the gathering isle on the night of the new moon. Splashheart purred and pressed up against Crowfang. "I've missed you so much! I still can't believe your the medicine cat though...." He sounded sad. Crowfang sighed. "I know. I don't want to be but it was Starclan who chose me themselves, not just a sign that it was me. But last half moon they told me not to fear, that my paws were on the right path, and that my secrets would stay secret." She sighed deeply and laid down. "But I don't know how long I can keep doing this....the snows have settled in the forest and its getting harder and harder to leave. Any day now we will have new apprentices, kits will be born in the heart of leafbare, and Sweetstar is sick." Splashheart laid next to her. "She's not on her last life is she?" Crowfang nodded. "She's young, too young to lose her last life but I'm afraid she might be getting greencough. I just hope she doesn't pass it on to the queens. We have so many kits...." Splashheart nodded. "I understand. Let's jsut spend one more night together then." Purring, they slept under the Great Tree. I the morning, Crowfang ran back to camp, stopping to gather as many herbs as she could find.
When she came into camp, her jaws full of some frost-touched horsetail, she saw the kits in the clearing. They were burrowing under the snow in tunnels they had dug. She purred and headed for her den.

Crowfang bared her fangs when Robinflight woke her but got up. "That's up to you. If it were me, I would stay silent until the kits were born. But whoever the father is, make sure they understand that the kits must be loyal to the clan their born in." Her eyes showed no knowledge that she even knew she wasn't born Thunderclan. All the Thunderclan cats older than her knew she was born Shadowclan, but she had never been told. She didn't know she had any siblings, other than the two kits that Dawnwhisker had birthed just before she nursed Crowfang. Both kits had died long before their first moon, and Crowfang could barely remember them even. Crowfang went to her herb store. She pulled out a few borage leaves. "Take one leaf a day, it will help make sure you have enough milk." She turned around and stared straight into Robginflight's eyes, seeming almost....jealous. "I won't ask about the father, it's up to you to tell anyone. But remember, we don't even know who Ivytwig's kits father is and their fine." She sighed and sniffed Squirrelwhisker, who was sleeping in her den due to whitecough. "Just make sure that if someone finds out sooner than you want them too, something bad may happen. I suggest that you not sneak out anymore; I'm sure you're already getting tired too often and everyone knows that you're eating more prey, so even if not everyone knows about the kits yet, they will soon." She yawned and flicked her tail. "Now, get some sleep. I can smell you've been out in the forest, somewhere near the marshes maybe, and that's a tiring journey for an expecting queen."

Crowfang sat down and curled her tail neatly over her paws. "When are you going to move into the nursery?" When her friend looked surprised, Crowfang snorted. "I'm not blind, and neither are most of our clanmates. Fernheart has already asked me if you're ok, so has Flowerpetal. They were the ones who brought you to my attention." She flicked her ears. "I know you've snuck out before, so I'm not going to ask who the father is if he's not in the clan, but I don't think you should be doing any more patroling of hunting for awhile."

Crowfang saw Robinflight under a mass of kits. She ran over and helped Flowerpetal pluck the kits of the she-cat. "Robinflight, are you ok?" She sniffed her over than froze for a second. "Why don't you come with me to my den." She flicked her tail and padded off, the tip twitching. The kits looked worried but Crowfang licked Heronkit's head. "It's ok, you guys were playing. I'm just going to talk to Robinflight for a moment."

(thats fine ^^ sorry if a godmod your cat just a bit)
Crowfang barely noticed Robinflight. She was still caught up in what Starclan had said. A medicine cat! She wanted to be leader, not to heal for the rest of her life! After awhile, she knew she had to prepare her new den. Laying her tail on Robinflight's back for a moment, she padded off to the medicine den.
For the next moon, things were strange. At the gathering, the leaders commented on how lax the frost and cold weather were being, there were new warriors and kits in almost every clan, the fox was still a problem on the Shadowclan/Thunderclan/Skyclan border, and Crowfang still managed to sneak off occasionally to meet Splashheart even though it left her exhausted & short tempered. Inside Thunderclan, Crowfang took to healing like a fish to water. Some of the cats took awhile to warm up to the new short tempered medicine cat but by the time the snows had started falling, most of the cats were used to it.
"Halfkit, get out of my herb store!" Crowfang grabbed the little tabby's tail and dragged her backwards out of the hole in the cave wall. The little she-cat blinked her wide pretty green eyes. Sighing, Crowfang poked her head out of the den. Snow dusted the clearing in uneven clumps. "Can someone keep an eye on the kits?" She glared at Squirrelwhisker and Lightfoot, the newest warrior, as they came out of the warriors den coughing. She looked around for Robinflight but couldn't see her in the clearing. Robinflight had gotten better with the kits and Halfkit had taken a shine to her, but Crowfang was a little worried about her friend lately.

Crowfang and Sweetstar trotted side by side, silent, as they made their way to the moonpool. Once both she-cats had walked down the paw print path, they padded up to the moonpool and laid down. Sweetstar lapped up a few drops while Crowfang curled up on the edge of the water, her paws just barely touching it.
"Crowfang, wake up." Crowfang opened her eyes. Instead of seeing Sweetstar sleeping next to the pool, she saw a light brown tabby she-cat with a white chest and paws standing before her. Behind the she-cat was a light gray tabby tom with pale blue eyes. The she-cat dipped her head. "Welcome Crowfang, to Starclan." Crowfang scrambled to her paws as more cats appeared. A grizzled old gray she-cat with yellow teeth dipped her head slightly while a beautiful golden tabby waved her tail. A flame pelted young tom and a small white tom stood together in the shadows. Many other cats appeared. Crowfang stared around her. "Am....am I dead?" The gray tabby tom snorted. "No, you're not dead. You're just visiting. My name is Jayfeather, I was Thunderclan's medicine cat when Firestar died many moons ago." The tabby she-cat purred. "My name is Leafpool. I was the one who discovered the Moonpool." Crowfang stared in wonder at these legends. "Why did you call me here? Is there a problem?" "There's no problem, just a message." A white she-cat stepped forward. Starlight sparkled faintly at her paws and Crowfang could see the trees through her fur. The she-cat smelled of an ancient wind, of rabbits and gorse and heather. "My name is Moth Flight. I have come to welcome you not only to Starclan, but also to the ranks of the medicine cats." Crowfang stood silent for a minute then screeched. "No! I don't want to be a medicine cat! I told Yarrowtail that moons ago!" "And yet Starclan had decided your fate before you were born." The light ginger tom shoved his way between Leafpool and Jayfeather. "I always knew you were a good match for a medicine cat, even though you can fight as well as Lionstar." He stopped a mouse length in front of her. "You are Thunderclan's next medicine cat Crowfang, whether you like it or not." The Starclan cats began to fade and suddenly Crowfang found herself awake next to the Moonpool. Sweetstar was sitting a tail length away. She dipped her head as Crowfang stood up. "Starclan has told me that you are our next medicine cat. I do not doubt their choice; you showed true skill with Ivytwig today." Saying nothing more, Sweetstar began to lead the way back. Crowfang followed numbly, her mind strangely quiet. She thought about Splashheart. How would she tell him? What would she tell him?
Before long, the she-cats made it back to the hollow. Most of the clan was still mourning. Sweetstar padded over to Yarrowtail's body and knelt down next to him. Crowfang saw Robinflight sitting near the edge but instead of sitting with her, Crowfang stumbled her way across the clearing tp a secluded spot near the nursery. She collapsed in the shadows and put a paw over her nose, tucking herself into a tight ball. Sweetstar waiting until the sun was higher then called the clan. Standing over the two bodies, she recited the words. "May you find good shelter, swift running, and shelter wherever you go." She dipped head head and the elders carried them out of camp. Sweetstar signaled for the cats other than the elders to stay. "Starclan has spoken to me. Crowfang shall be the new medicine cat, picked out by Starclan themselves." With that, she headed for her den. Crowfang heard her but stayed where she was.
