I unlocked hunting rank 10 yesterday, so I finally got to see what it looks like when prey is visible as brown(?) dots on the corner mini-map!
I play on Nintendo Switch on a large TV screen.
They are very small dots. While I can manage to see them, it is a challenge, and I have to really concentrate. I'm not confident that when I rank foraging to level 10, that I'll be able to distinguish the different colours for plants and animals on the minimap.
An option to make the mini-map/dots larger would be wonderful; or maybe a hotkey to open up the mini-map (not the territory map), but big?
Well, part of the reason the dots are so small is because you are supposed to glance at the mini-map and be like, "Oh, something's there, gotta go see what it is." When you are on the Switch. without the TV on, is the mini-map smaller? I have noticed the bigger the screen, the smaller everything else is. But I guess you should be able to see the colors, because once you unlock level 10 foraging there will be two different colored maps. I *think* the prey color is yellow and the herb color is orange. But then, I haven't played on the Switch so maybe the colors are different there.

I agree! I am suggesting an option to make the dots/map larger for people who, like me, are unable to see the dots at a quick glance due to their size. What I'm suggesting is an accessibility option, essentially?
Yes the mini-map is smaller in hand-held mode. I can't play Cattails and many other games in hand-held mode very well due to the size of the hand-held screen. I can't hold the switch 5-6 inches away from my face like I can with my phone, haha.
