Widget - Tom - Kittypet
Widget blinked open an eye. A noise he couldn't identified woke him and he stumbled out of his nest onto the windowsill.
The pale dawn light dazzled him as he tried to look out of the fogged, broken window. The room was cold and empty, his twolegs kept him in here ever since he tried to attack one of them. At least they leave me alone now, he grumbled to himself as he gazed around the lonely room.
The hole in the old window caught his attention. The glass at the window frame was shattered and cold air flooded in from the outside.
And idea came to his mind. Although the glass shards around the hole were sharper than any claw and the hole was barely the size of a cat, he couldn't resists the urge to at least try wriggling through. Before thinking a second time, he padded over to the opening and tried to delicately squeeze through. He concentrated very hard to not touch the razor-sharp shards and was already half-way out with his head. The endless freedom before his eyes made his whole body jumpy. I can do this!
Without waiting any second longer, he dived through perilous opening only to be stopped abruptly as he yowled out loud when the shards cut into his fur. I can't give up now! He endured the pain and rested for a few seconds, preparing himself to finally slip out of the hole.
Suddenly, muffled shouting sounded from behind the door and he heard loud stomping. His twolegs must have heard him yelp.
The door to the empty room burst open with a loud thud. Shocked with dread, he quickly gathered all his strength and hurtled himself through the hole in the window.
He led out another yowl as the shards cut deeper into his fur, but was relieved when he was finally out of window. Without looking back he quickly jumped down the house and into the back yard. He leapt into a bush and listened to his twoleg screaming and shouting out of the window.
His deep cut began to sting as he panted, exhausted from the rapid escape. He couldn't lick his wound or matted pelt now. He heard his twoleg burst through the door to the back yard. Not hesitating any longer he nimbly leapt over the fence and broke into a run.
Eventually he came to an end and collapsed in the garden of another twoleg nest. Still panting, he looked up. Where am I?
