Rainstar's gaze was not revealing very much about what she was thinking as a silence developed between the two of them. Rainstar was gazing hard at her, and Ravenfang was gazing down at his paws, avoiding the leader's eyes deliberately.
She shook her head slowly even though he wasn't even looking at her. "Ravenfang...you know that Starclan has always been...bending when it comes to that rule. Just as I think they would of had Dawnheart taken refuge here..." She stepped closer, drawing her voice into the quietest whisper, as he gazed aroudn to make certain all cats were a fair distance away. "...they will not judge Leafpaw for mating with a Windclan cat, because of her roots...and they will not judge a Shadowclan cat for abandoning a tyrant's clan."
Ravenfang quietly dug his claws into the dirt. Clan lineage was always stretched amongst the clans, but the only cat he loved had told him that it was more important than anything. I...I can't just abandon my clan, Ravenfang. This is my...I am deputy. The leader relies on me, and I fear what will happen with my unannounced departure. Ravenfang's heart felt a heavy stab of pain as Dawnheart's words echoed in his mind. "She told me that her duty to her clan was more important. That she had to preserve the clan. We...we can't just toss aside the code..." His voice was uncertain and shaken. He didn't believe in the words he was saying.
"You wish she had come every day of your life, Ravenfang." It was a sharp hiss, an obvious stated fact. "Ripplestar still died before her, and Dawnstar was still murdered after. If another clan means someone survives to fight for a better future, instead of being murdered by it, Starclan will not cast them out to the Dark Forest." She sniffed, standing up tall above him. "And if you doubt me still, then you can ask Wildberry, Lilyheart, or Rosethorn to back me up on that."
She drew closer, shoving her muzzle in close to his. "Stop thinking in Yes and Nos. Stop letting the past decide what you do now, and burn a better path to the future instead. If you're going to lead, you must lead from wisdom and intelligence, not fear."
Ravenfang pulled his muzzle up from the ground, the slightest bit surprised at how close she had drawn. There she went again, a fountain of wisdom trickling down onto him. She must of been pretty close to back to normal. He opened his mouth to speak, holding it there for a few moments, before closing it and looking back over his shoulder. There he was, already inching towards the warrior's den. With utter lack of subtlety.
"They may already be inseparable. You are just...delaying what may be inevitable. make the smarter decision and let them meet when and where you can keep your eyes on it."
Ravenfang nodded slowly. "You're right."
Oh, there was Hazelrunner! Right there! How did that happen! What a coincidence! Oh Starclan! She blurted the question, and an awkward shuffle of his paws began. "Uhhh...welll...there was a kittypet, and I guess she walked out into the territory, and Wrenflight...brought her here..." He shrugged uncertaintly. "Rainstar got...kind of mad...but also...understood...I guess?"

Hazelrunner was watching the pair of cats nervously ever sense they started talking. She knew from their no so sly glances towards Shadowpaw that they were trying to decide what to do with the pair of them. She started to wonder to herself if Ravenfang was thinking of Dawnstar right now or if Rainstar was bringing her up. She remembered the scene Dawnstar had shown her in her dreams, her heart almost broke when she thought about it. All of this was going through her head while a certain tom was not so stealthily trying to inch his way over.
She only took notice when he was practially hovering right over her and abruptly answered her question...well sort of. Sitting herself up she turned to look at Shadowpaw before blinking at trying to process what he was saying about a kittypet apparently coming into camp with Wrenflight. Apparently she had missed something. At first all he got was a soft “Huh” from Hazelrunner as she twitched her tail processing that thought.
Yawning she stretched her long front legs out in front of her. “Who were starting to understand? Rainstar or the kittypet?” She mewed softly with a tilt of her head. It was a good question to distract herself from what Ravenfang and Rainstar were doing. At least the deputy hadn’t gotten on them for being out talking blazeningly in the open. She also wanted to see who Shadowpaw saw more valid points in, the leader of a clan or a kittypet. If it was a kittypet, then she might be surprised. Still, it was good for him to consider both sides of an agreement than blindly following a cat because they held a height authority.
Yawning she flopped back down on to her side. “I’d sleep right here if it wasn’t going to start getting chilly soon.” She mewed lazily as she glanced up at the apprentince with a light smile. She was glad to sit and talk with him after a long day. It was good for both of them.

Shadowpaw blinked as the warrior didn't understand his answer, preparing to clarify what had happened. "Well, Wrenflight said something to Rainstar about making friends is better than enemies, and Rainstar kind of settled down a little, I guess." He began looking just a bit uncomfortable; he left out the fact that he had spoken up as well.
His discomfort increased as he thought about the kittypet. "And the kittypet, ummm...she was...well...uhh..." His cheeks went a little red, and he averted his gaze, not finishing his thought, and leaving a VERY ambiguous answer unspoken for Hazelrunner to assume and conclude to her mind's content.
His mind drifted away from the kittypet when he failed to think of words to describe her; it moved back towards the conversation he had had with Rainstar. About the purpose of the clans and the cats' job to strengthen others. His gaze lifted after a few long moments, and he laid in front of the lazily spread she-cat, laying his head at her paws.
"Hazelrunner..." His tone was noticeably different; quieter, and much deeper in thought. "I know why you saved me back then, at the water...and, I..." His words were soft and perhaps held a little bit of affection within them. "...I'm glad you did...because, then, I...umm..." He gulped, stumbling over his words per the usual and making himself look dumb. "I...what I mean is...I'm glad you did, but...why do you still want to train me, and teach me, and be my friend? I haven't done anything to help you, but...you're still...here..."She is kind-hearted. Rainstar's words echoed to him. Could that really be the only reason?

Hazelrunner slowly nodded her head in clear understanding as Shadowpaw tried to explain what had happened with the kittypet. She stayed silent on the matter though. Even though she didn’t know what was said she had a feeling she’d knew where she would have stood on the matter. They needed to follow the warrior code, but there were times when the code wasn’t the only thing they could rely on. Sighing she shook her head before she watched him laying down next to her, his head laying on her paws.
She slowly rested her cheek on her leg watching the tom fumble for his words as he clearly had something on his mind. Hazelrunner was silent for a moment giving him as much time as she could to let him get all his thoughts out in the open. Her eyes got round clearly perplexed by his question. Hazelrunner had thought the answer was clear already. Giving a thought moment of silence she waited to answer.
She sighed picking up her head to look at him in the eyes. “Of course I’m still here silly.” She mewed softly as she thought about just why she was still wanting to help him succeed. The molly laid her head back down close to Shadowpaw’s, smiling to herself. “At first when I found out about what had happened with Nightstar I felt bad and I wanted to help give you the chance to be a warrior and learn that there isn’t all bad in the world. It felt like the right thing to do. I really nervous about trying to actually train you though. I thought for sure I wouldn’t be able to do it.” She gave a somewhat nervous laugh remembering how quickly she’d volunteered to be his mentor.
“But, now it isn’t so much that I have to, or feel like that’s just what I want to do. I’ve seen how hard you work and I love to see how excited you get when you learn something new. I’m helping you because I care about you.” She mumbled as she blinked her heavy eyelids.

He listened closely as she began to recount how she had felt at the start of their meeting, and how she had felt it was right and good for her to do what she could to make him see that there was much more than what he had learned in Shadowclan. It was still heard for him to think; a cat being so trusting in a stranger that she would dedicate herself to teaching him whatever she was able to.
His ears flattened back as she told him she had no idea whether she would be able to succeed at teaching him anything. Had he been hard to teach? Difficult? He felt worry that she had made her life more of a challenge than it had to be.
He was about to apologize for how difficult he had been when trying to learn new information, but then she continued speaking about how much she enjoyed seeing him get excited--and how she continued on with this work because of the fact that she cared about him. He looked rather surprised, as if this was a strange thing for a friend to say to a friend. He definitely hadn't been raised to hear that sort of thing normally. His head still laid calmly at her paws, his eyes gazing straight into her own as her heavy eyelids seemed to be struggling to keep themselves open.
"I owe you so much," He quietly whispered, his eyes shining with something between awe and admiration. The heart she had been and was still pouring into him was hard to believe; his mother had been the only cat who cared enough to do so. He would never expect a warrior he wasn't related to to do anything of the sort.

Hazelrunner could feel her pelt get hot as the tom seemed to look at her something close admiration. It was something she didn’t think she deserved to get. Helping friends was something she would do without hesitation. Shadowpaw wasn’t any different, even if she hadn’t known him fro as long. Sighing softly she wanted to correct him, to assure him that he didn’t need to owe her anything at all. She paused fluttering her eyes a few times to try and keep herself awake. Even though it was cold out, she felt warm with the tom laying right next to her so, she was still fighting back to urge to fall asleep.
“If you pay it forwards and do what you can to help other cats, then that would make me the happiest cat in all of the clans.” She mewed softly before yawning to herself still keeping her eyes focused on the tom’s green eyes. It was the same thing her parents had told her when she was younger. Nothing made them happier than seeing her help other cats. She still held that close to her heart.
Yawning louder to herself she looked up at the moon already appearing overhead. “You can’t see the stars any clearer than this.” She purred a little trying to enjoy the little bit of quiet they’d had over the past several days.

Shadowpaw briefly wondered if she was too tired to have this conversation. He could of been bothering her too much whilst she was exhausted. Still, he couldn't be certain because she started speaking again.
Once she finished telling him about what would make her the happiest, he wondered whether he could ever meet that criteria. His admiration dimmed alittle, replaced by doubt of his own abilities. The only way he could truly please her was to help other cats, and he doubted he had the fighting, hunting, or charismatic abilities to do anything of the sort. Stuffing his uncertainty down into his chest, he gave a small nod of affirmation.
He followed her gaze up into the sky after she mentioned how clear the sky was. He took in a slow, deep breath and took in the cloudless expanse. "Do...do you believe they care if we lose?" He didn't hold back from the deep and heavy questions once they had turned to the sky; it was almost depressing how he had a doubt or uncertainty about simple pleasures like stargazing.

“I do.” She mewed without the slightest bit of hesitation. Even if she hadn’t seen it for herself she would probably still believe it. “There are a lot of cats up there that care about cats in Windclan, that care about the clans living well together.” She mewed softly as she laid her head down still looking up at the stars. They had to care, these were the cats that were their family and clanmates why wouldn’t they care?
Her blue eyes flickered back towards Shadowpaw catching the doubt as he looked up at the stars. “In stormy times I think the stars are just harder to see clearly. All we can see is what’s right in front of us. We can’t see the whole clear sky.” She mewed softly speaking more metaphorically than literally. Another loud yaw erupted from her as she slowly blinked her eyes still fighting back sleep.

Shadowpaw felt more doubt paralyzing him as she voiced that it was hard to feel supported in times of darkness. He wanted to say more, to say that he didn't feel like anyone had done anything for him from Starclan, or, more importantly, that anyone had done anything to stop Shadowclan's descent from the real Warrior Code which he had only been learning recently. He wouldn't claim that he personally was owed anything from Starclan; he wasn't nearly important or deserving enough. But surely they could have stepped in to intervene in his father's ascent?
But, he saw the next yawn she gave. He began feeling conscious about the fact that he msut of been keeping her awake with this conversation. he awkwardly coughed once, then began picking his head up from near her paws, wanting to leave her to sleep as he believed she wanted. "I'll, um...let you sleep. Okay?" He quietly murmured, not quite meeting her gaze. He had hoped they could train tonight, but he could see she was too exhausted for that.

She was briefly jarred out of her drowsy state by him saying he’d leave her to sleep now. She probably would have offered train if she wasn’t so sleepy. She supposed it would have to wait until tomorrow night. “Thank Shadowpaw. Get a good night sleep okay?” With a soft smile she very slowly got to her paws. A cold breeze blowing through camp made her fluff up her fur quite a bit, already missing the tom’s warmth. Stepping close she briefly touched her nose to his forehead. “Good night Shadowpaw.” She mewed softly before yawning loudly again and stepping away to make her way into the warrior den with one last glance over her shoulder to Shadowpaw.
(Should we go ahead and time skip now?)

For some reason, he felt a dull sadness as he nodded blankly, walking away from her. Though he wasn't sure why, the air was feeling colder than it had before and he felt glum thoughts beginning to take over his brain. What if Starclan wasn't there? Did he really deserve the support of someone so amazing and kind as Hazelrunner? Should he have left Shadowclan? Did it mean anything? Would this stop anything?
He laid down to rest in the apprentice's den, tossing and turning (and annoying plenty of apprentices in the process). He was uncertain how long he was awake, but the last thing he remembered was Leafpaw entering the den, late at night, and coming to his side and curling up with him.
(Yes lets do it (haha it took longer to get here than i expected but that isnt a bad thing)
Over the next nearly quarter-moon, things grew even more tense than they had been. Despite the cooperation of Thunderclan, and clear discussion between the leaders of the clans, it was unclear if there was any path to success against Nightstar and his powerplay to bring all the clans down to his paws. Still, cats tried to grasp onto a desperate hope.
In Windclan, it became increasingly clear that Ravenfang and Rainstar were working together again. There hadn't been anything verbally official, but they spent most of their days inseparable, planning and discussing. It seemed that something had pushed them past their recent conflict.
Ravenfang could see Shadowpaw and Hazelrunner and how they always seemed to end up in the same place. It was likely that cats knew that he knew. Still, he hadn't said anything to either of the two cats. It seemed he wasn't pursuing the matter.
Tawnyface mainly spent her time shoving unwanted orders onto Longshadow. She was determined to keep him from dying despite how that made it seem like she cared. Obviously, she didn't she just needed her not to die because he was the only one who could help her redeem herself. Yeah. That was it.
Shadowpaw seemed only to grow more inseparable from Hazelrunner the less Ravenfang seemed to notice...or care...about their being around each other. The forced time away had made him miss her and now he was almost difficult to get away from her. It was almost a kit-like attachment, and hard to explain for an apprentice with as many moons as him. Well...maybe not for an older, wiser warrior.
Leafpaw wasn't very noticeable during the next several days. Mostly she was circling thoughts in her own head and feeling depressed about Starclan's inaction. She hadn't even come to Hazelrunner to talk, and her lack of connecting with her friend might have been noticeable or even worrying. Still, she had seemed to make a habit of curling up with Shadowpaw at night and occasionally talking with him during the day.
The mysterious cat who had visited Mousepaw visited him in the next several days a few times. his demand was that he not ask questions about his presence; only about the training they were performing. He had started with basic tools and tips regarding successfully defending himself in battle; however, this was intermixed with occasional ideas on how to be more confident and assertive; especially, about how to sway someone to notice that confidence. Perhaps it was obvious what he was doing, but the mysterious cat didn't seem to care. Mousepaw would lap up these ideas to impress the cat he wanted to notice him, and once she rejected him more, Mousepaw would certainly come crawling for more advice and lessons from him.
On the fourth day, Ravenfang briefly mentioned to a number of cats that they still had not heard from The Pelts. He knew some of the cats didn't care about the other group of cats, but he knew they need as many able bodies as possibly. He was wondering if it was worth the effort to venture out to figure out where they were.
Strangely, Whispersong had also gone missing. This was distressing for the clan as a whole, and patrols had been sent for her, but nothing had been found; no scent trails, distinguishable tracks, or anything. Hawktail mentioned he had been looking for her but never stumbled on anything.
Beyond this, Hawktail was beginning to treat Wrenflight strangely. he seemed a fair bit more pleasant and accommodating, definitely moreso than was his normal.
As the days passed, it did seem that Shadowpaw was feeling drearier and drearier. He had never, as Hazelrunner had offered, taken the opportunity to unload whatever he had been thinking about that night. His mood was worse consistently and his training was slightly less spirited (though not totally, as he knew how much Hazelrunner was invested in seeing him succeed). Whatever it was, it seemed that Shadowpaw and Hazelrunner had either been too busy to talk, or Shadowpaw too reticent.

For several days he had been rather wheezy and out of breath. He was recovering now though, just at a snail’s pace much to his dismay. The quarter moon that passed was the longest in the older tom’s whole life. Despite his several attempts to try and do something besides wasting away in the elder den it seemed like Wildberry and Tawnyface were determined to make him stay put until his wounds had healed completely.
Tawnyface seemed to always have him doing something to try and speed up his recovery. Despite him lashing out on more than one occasion he didn’t seem to mind having her around sometimes. She could be good company, when she wasn’t being a tick in his fur. At the very least she was keeping Wildberry from clawing the old tom who was more fidgety than a young kit. By the time he was given the go ahead to go on his first patrol, that tom had never bolted so fast out of camp in his life, nearly knocking over Tawnyface on his way out.
The medicine cat’s den had become rather quiet thankfully, there were few cats getting injured or sick. The only cat who continued to show up with injuries was Mousepaw, who she had spotted several times limping out of the apprentince den in the morning or covered in unexplained scratches. She hardly had time to be bothered with it though. Looking after Longshadow was enough of a full time job on it’s own. She had come very very close to clawing the tom’s snarky mouth more than a few times.
The mysterious cat that visited him was one he had met with a lot of apprehension at first. When he stopped questioning the cat he started to learn a lot of helpful things that would help him on the battlefield, and maybe even talking with Leafpaw. She had called him immature so, he was more than eager to learn from a cat who oozed far more confidence than he did. Every once and a while he would have to scramble to find a way to explain his scratches to Wildberry, but it was worth it. He certainly felt stronger and more assured in himself. He had already started finding more excuses to talk to Leafpaw more. It was easy to do now that she seemed to be alone almost all the time.
Her and Lilyheart had taken notice to the leader and deputy’s seeming reconciliation. She wanted to see it as a good thing, but seemed perpetually annoyed with the fact that neither cat had bothered to consult her for much. Maybe it would help if she hadn’t seemed to get so much more short tempered with every cat in camp, especially with Lilyheart and Proudpaw, who she seemed to always find some sort of fault with.
Despite Ravenfang’s noticeable tolerance with Hazelrunner and Shadowpaw, Dogclaw was still officially his mentor. He recongized the fact that he and Shadowpaw were far from a perfect match. He couldn’t get anywhere with Ravenfang, the tom always seemingly brushing it off or just being too wrapped up talking to Rainstar, so he’d had to resort to inviting Hazelrunner along to train with them. It made the training harder to fit in, but he tried to make it work. It didn’t help him much though now that Hazelrunner seemed to be getting too busy to join them most days, he was left to train Shadowpaw alone most of the time. Adding on the that the fact that Whispersong had gone missing, he was never all that excited to come back to camp after hunting or patrolling.
The cats of Riverclan had started to spend more time with cats other than their clanmates. Redsky preferred to help around the nursery, while Otterfur always seemed to be out of camp by the river. He and Wrenflight hadn’t talked much since she’d brought the kittypet into camp. Wrenflight was a little surprised by the strange behavior from Hawktail, but she was trying to be nicer to him in return and not act put off by it. She was more than happy to get to know other cats besides Ravenfang in the clan. She had also started to pick up some herb knowledge from Lilyheart and Rosethorn who was visiting from Thunderclan quite often lately.
Applepaw was the most noticably absent though. He left before most cats woke up and wouldn’t come back until near sundown without telling any cat just where he’d been.
As the days went on and Ravenfang seemed to get more and more lax about seeing them together, Hazelrunner was ecstatic at the thought that her and Shadowpaw could train together again. And they had for a little while. Shadowpaw though, was getting more and more withdrawn. It a little at a time until they just didn’t seem to ever just sit down and talk anymore. Of course Dogclaw and Rainstar had been keeping him busy with training, but she also felt like there was something else happening. She never did get to ask though. The same could be said about Leafpaw. She hadn’t really found herself talking with her anymore either. It hurt Hazelrunner to think she was loosing her friends, but she didn’t know exactly what to do to get them back. This was a busy time for the clan. She was pulled into a lot of patrols and eventually decided maybe it would be better if she let Shadowpaw do most of his training with Dogclaw for right now.
It was clearly frustrating her, but she didn’t know what to say to either one of them to get the root of the problem.
(Quite a bit longer lol. No wonder there’s so many characters rip *_*)

(yeah definitely lol, i think this is only like half the roster though lol...mostly the mains here though)
It was not that hard to notice Mousepaw's injuries, and Leafpaw was no exception. There seemed to be a little bit of concern on her face whenever she would lay eyes on a wound that seemed fresh, a natural response for the caring she-cat. her insult to him in the past hadn't meant that she felt he was worthless, but Leafpaw wasn't certain that was clear to him, the way he would strut around her and try to get her attention for conversation. He was trying to be nice to him.
He had made it clear to Mousepaw: injuries happen in battle. If he isn't ready to receive them now, in training, he would never be able to handle the grievous wounds that can happen in battle--whether it be receiving or inflicting them. The tom enjoyed watching the apprentice struggle, punishing him for the failures to perform a move or dodge an attack. It brought him back to being trained himself. This was the natural order of the relationship between trainer and trainee.
Each training session without Hazelrunner was harder to bear than the last. Dogclaw wasn't a natural mentor or trainer, and feeling like Hazelrunner did not have the time for him didn't help either. His progress in the sessions with both Dogclaw and Hazelrunner had been great; the sessions now could only be called passable. Perhaps his fighting skills were vaguely approaching where they should be to pass an apprenticeship, but he had his rocky days.
Though he hadn't made any attempt to approach or communicate, Ravenfang seemed less outwardly avoidant of Wrenflight. His gaze would linger on her for longer than he realized until she caught him, he didn't carve a path to avoid her, and he was preparing for a conversation that he knew needed to be held.
On the other paw, he was trying to figure out what was happening with his brother. Hawktail had been acting strangely, chatting with Wrenflight, and leaving camp more often than seemed normal for a time this dangerous. But, amidst all of the planning with Otterfur and Sprucestar, there was little time to dwell on it.
-----
Shadowpaw was lingering near the medicine cat's den. He was unable to hide anxiety from his features, so he obviously looked stressed about something, but it wasn't clear whatever it was. The den was relatively quiet, so he worked up the guts to peek his head in, calling for Lilyheart with no certainty she would be there instead of Wildberry.
Lavenderfur was sharing tongues with his mate, discussing the safety of their kits and the recent jailbreak they had performed. With no eyes on the den for a brief time (when Lavenderfur had dozed off on watch) the kits had made a daring escape from camp. They didn't make it far before a cat noticed, but it had inspired a discussion between the parents of proper punishment.
Tawnyface couldn't stop the tom from doing what he wanted once Wildberry gave the okay, but she was still concerned about Longshadow's condition. he was old and a slow recoverer at this point, and she still worried he would overexert himself now that he had permission to perform basic warrior functions.
Still, she wasn't feely enough to approach him and openly discuss her concern, so she simply watched with a varied plethora of glares, hosting a scale of irritation that changed based on...the weather?
If a cat was paying attention, they could also notice Tawnyface had started occasionally following Dogclaw and Shadowpaw to watch the apprentice's training.

Watching the two medicine cats would show just how differently there were handling the relative peace. Wildberry seemed almost agitated by it. In fact she stalked around camp with prickled fur muttering about her own personal grievances. Today was no differnt. She was standing next to the herb stores, hissing in Proudpaw’s ear about wasting valuable supplies, shriveled herbs that wouldn’t be effective against much. Lilyheart on the other hand seemed rather content and happier over the past few days. Sure there were small problems around camp, but for once in a very long time she was able to truly breath. It made her happier to be ideal with healthy cats then be flooded with sick or injured cats. Even an uneasy peace was still a peace. Wildberry was too busy to notice the apprentice peeking in with a quiet call.
Lilyheart perked up right away, a bit surprised to see Shadowpaw standing in the entrance. She slowly climbed to her paws, pausing to make sure she could keep her balance before proceeding to the entrance. Her lack of an eye had made it more disorienting to move up and down quickly. Even after living with it for some time she still sometimes was seen struggling to cope with it. ”Hello Shadowpaw. Is there something on your mind?” The concern was painted on to his face, the question was, why did he come seeking her out to discuss it with.
Speckleflower had nearly had a heart attack when she got news that her kits had been out of camp. She sat with her mate, her tail tip curled neatly around her paws. Her tail tip was twitching in irritation as they tried to decide the best way to deal with their kit’s misadventure. Sighing softly she glanced in the direction of the nursery, that she had confined the two kits to until they had decided how to deal with them. ”I would threaten to have them stay in the nursery longer, but I don’t think they would fit much longer.” She muttered with a huff of exasperation.
As soon as he’d gotten out of camp he slowed down considerably, it enjoy the scenery of course. It had nothing to do with the fact he was completely out breath after that short little bit of activity. It was going to take a lot longer than he thought to build up his endurance again. Sighing loudly he rested himself out of camp with a noticable frown at the thought. It was a reminder that he wasn’t as young as he wanted to pretend to be.

Shadowpaw seemed to be focused on Wildberry for a few seconds, even after Lilyheart had stood, wobbled, and then responded to him. He seemed to be picking up how agitated the Windclan medicine cat was, and it wasn't clear whether it was nervousness or concern for the cat on his face...or maybe a bit of both?
Then, he readjusted to focusing on Lilyheart. "Umm...may I...ask you a question?" His voice was quiet and he was nervous about bothering her. He remembered his first outburst at her--he hated thinking about how evil he must have seemed to her in that moment. just like his father.
The fact that he asked if he could ask a question might have hinted that it was something serious. He certainly looked nervous and weary...perhaps, even, a bit depressed, which wasn't abnormal for Lilyheart, having seen him almost every day for moons. Yet, still...perhaps it seemed to be more so than usual.
Hawktail was searching the camp and calling for Dogclaw. He saw Shadowpaw, so he assumed the warrior was in camp. Dogclaw and Whispersong had been seen chatting on occasion and he thought perhaps Dogclaw would have an interest in looking for her.
Lavenderfur had a grimace on his face, his tail lashing with irritation in tandom with his mate. "I'd say they could pick ticks for a moon, but I don't think the elder's could handle their energy." He sighed with exhaustion. "And we can't make them gather any herbs for Wildberry, even if its really close to camp. its too dangerous, and they'd need constant monitoring." He let his head thud to the floor. "My head hurts."
A mocking coo sounded throughout what used to be the Riverclan camp. The cats who had been enslaved to sorting herbs, catching prey and being target practice were extremely important to Nightstar's plans, and this Windclan she-cat that her pet informant had delivered them was quite useful. She was already injured and therefore had been so much less of a struggle to make to obey.
Petalstream was smiling down at her as she tried to figure which herbs were what. It was so fun watching these pathetic nuisances struggle, and getting the joy of sharpening her claws on them.
