It had been quite a while that Eleanor tried to catch another word of the mysterious speaker, she even tried standing on her hind legs to be away from the masking sound of leaves rattling, but heard nothing more. ”Hmph. Can’t believe I wasted so much time for nothing,” the dragon huffed. She then went back to strolling around the forest and hoping to find the way home.
The wyvern knew she could be turning in circles right now and making no progress. Wandering through a forest in hopes of guessing the correct way is harder than a maze, you don't have any walls to follow, every tree is on its own. And there's no saying she's close to home either, the dragon doesn't have memory of a forest nearby. "If I didn't come on my own, who had the power to move me somewhere faraway? There's no other dragons about or larger than my size where I live."

Iris opened her, completely confused. She had been in an easy turf war, her team was winning by having most of the middle covered in ink. She tried to rise up, but winced as she did so. She tentatively put her hand to her head, flinching once more. She must have hurt it somehow. After awhile of attempting to stand, she finally did so. Looking at her surroundings, she could see her splattershot laying on the ground, and she quickly picked it back up. This definitely isn't Inkopolis. Shrugging to herself, the squid kid began to call out, "Hello? Anyone else here?" Her hand was still on her head.

Zinnia's ears pricked at the sound of a voice. She turned in the direction of the voice, and pointed the branch at it. Quite daringly, she responded. "Yeah, somebody else is here. Whaddya want?" She tried to sound confident and strong, even though inside, she was a little scared. The thing that spoke could be harmless, like one of the jellyfish that often hung out in the square, or it could be dangerous, like an octoling with a roller.
She slowly inched towards the direction that the voice came from, careful not to step on anything laying on the ground as she did so. She then paused, deciding the wait for a response.

Iris nearly jumped at the sound of another voice. She hadn't expected a response. She herself pointed her Splattershot in the direction of the new voice, saying, "Who are you?" Her voice was neutral, if anything a bit curious. Although she had been startled before, she wasn't exactly scared. The voice sounded a bit younger, though of course she couldn't clarify that. "Do you live here or something? What is this place?" Iris couldn't keep the questions from flowing out. Yup, she was definitely curious.

Zinnia shuffled closer, and then hid behind a tree. She snuck a glance at the other individual, and then sighed with relief as she realized that it was just another inkling. Well, great to know I'm not alone here, she thought to herself. However, she was still wary. She had seen the inkling's weapon, which had put her on alert. She didn't want to get splatted. Not here, where there was no visible respawn point nearby.
Still hiding behind the tree, she responded to the other inkling's questions. The first one being, who she was.
"Who I am does not concern you," she responded firmly. She wanted to keep her identity a secret, at least for now. "And no, I don't live here, and I also don't know what the heck this place is either." Unintentionally, she continued her speech. "I just randomly pop up here, boom. I'm in the middle of doing something important, and skiddadle skidoodle, oh no! I'm in some weird forest!"
Zinnia sounded slightly annoyed now, and her voice had risen in pitch by just a little bit. In her rambling, she had dropped her guard as well. She gritted her teeth and clenched her fists. "I swear in the name of the great zapfish, I am going to kill whoever the heck is sending people here," she muttered, although still loud enough to be heard.
Then, she realized she had stated the great zapfish's name, which gave evidence as to wear she came from. Well, i'm diddly-darn screwed, she thought to herself, regretting everything she had just said out loud.

Iris listened with raise eyebrows as the voice continued on with her speech. The girl sounded annoyed and completely frustrated, similar to herself. She was zoning out a little bit by the end of it, but perked up at the name of 'zapfish'. "Wait, you're an inking, too?" She asked. She walked a bit closer, no longer clutching her weapon as firmly. "Come out then, I won't splat your or anything." To prove her good will, she clipped the large weapon on the side of her pants.
As she waited for a response, Iris began mumbling to herself. "I need to get back and help Marie. She still needs me to do missions or whatever. Oh, woomy! I wanted to go see Sheldon for a new weapon." She sighed, not realizing she had used some squid speech as a curse. "And there's a Splatfest next weekend I wanted to train a bit for..." She trailed off, her frustration only growing as she realized how much she needed to do.

Shadow Shadow gave a grunt as she stretched out her wings inside her cave-wait this wasn't her cave.. where was she? She a gave a yelp as her wing scratched against a tree. "Hmph" She accessed the damage quickly, before folding her wings back into her body. Probably better to rest it, just for today, not like she should be flying around some strange forest alone anyway. Looks like I'm going on foot today. Shadow heard a surprised "EEP!" from a small distance away. "Asha!?"
Asha Asha blinked open her eyes, the second she realized she wasn't in the old forest, she gave a squeal. "Asha!?" She turned her head to see Shadow through a few trees. "Shadow! Where are we?" She looked around in confusion. Shadow frowned, "Don't know.. could you fly up and look around?" Asha was going to ask why Shadow couldn't, but seeing as her wings weren't visible at the moment, she quickly flew up and looked down over the island. Asha sighed, not being able to see much with the trees blocking her view. She flew down to see Shadow looking the direction where Asha could slightly hear noises coming from.

Zinnia warily stepped out from behind the tree. The branch she was holding was pointed at the ground, but she still had a firm grip on it in case the other individual were to make any sudden moves.
Still cautious, however a little more open to speaking than before, seeing as the other inkling had lowered their weapon, Zinnia spoke. "Well, since we're both inklings, I suppose I can tell you who I am, to answer your question," she said. "My name's Zinnia, but that's all I'm going to tell you, since I still don't completley trust you," she said. She then decided to ask a question herself. "So, since I told you my name, why don't you tell me yours? It would be a fair exchange, right?"

Iris stopped mumbling to herself once Zinnia stepped out behind the tree. She put her hands to her hips and cocked her head slightly, resulting in her two purple tentacles to swish. "Took you long enough," She teased with a friendly smile on her face. "Zinnia, huh? It fits you. I'm Iris." She didn't hesitate to tell the other her name. Clearly, Iris was relaxed about the whole situation. She didn't even acknowledge the fact that Zinnia said she didn't trust her. "Wanna explore?" She suddenly asked her, the smile on her face not fading in the slightest. "And, you know you can put that stick down, right?"

Zinnia narrowed her eyes just a tiny bit when Iris said she could put the stick down. Is she trying to make it easier for her to attack me by trying to convince me to get rid of my only weapon? If that's the case, it's not gonna happen, lady, she thought to herself with suspicion.
"I'd rather not drop the stick," she responded. "Who knows what could happen out here? Something could attack us at any moment, and we need to be prepared," she explained.
"Also, sure, I guess I'll explore with you or whatever. It's better than wandering around aimlessly by myself," she answered.

Iris laughed once Zinnia was finished, though not at her. She just found the way Zinnia acted towards her funny. With confidence in her step, she began to walk. She was used to having her Orcas on concrete or ink, so having them on grass felt quite odd. Oh, I hope there's no water here! she though to herself worriedly. However, she distracted herself. "So, Zinnia. What level are you?" Iris started up a conversation with ease. She was a pretty social inkling in general, making her somewhat known back in Inkopolis.

Zinnia followed Iris, holding her stick by the base with both hands while the end of it was resting on her left shoulder. Upon hearing Iris' question, she quickly responded in a calm tone, very different from the suspicious, alert one when she first spotted the fellow Inkling. "I'm pretty sure I'm at level 35 at the moment. I just got to it the other day after what seemed like billions of years of being at level 34."

Iri's eyes widened slightly. "34?! Wow, you're dedicated! I'm close to level 22. Though, in my defense, I've taken a break from all the splatting. Been trying to make some friends, you know?" By the end of her sentence, Iris was reminded of another question she wanted to ask. "I'm 18 years old. How about you? You seem pretty mature." Her smile had formed into a smaller one now, showing her previous excitement was still there, but had subsided a bit.

"16," Zinnia responded. She now felt awkward, being around someone older than her. She shrugged off the awkward feeling, and decided to contribute to the conversation. "So, what's your highest rank?" she asked. She had been in a ranked battle before she arrived here, which had given her the idea for the question.

Iris knew the voice sounded younger when she first heard Zinnia, so she wasn't quite surprise when she found out she was 16. When asked the question, she put her hand on her head in embarrassment, and nearly winced when it hurt again. She had forgotten she had somehow injured it. "Sadly, B- in Tower Control. Tower Control is so much fun!!!" She said happily. "What about you?"
