Rainfeather's smile turned into a frown. "Is there something wrong? We could chat somewhere else... or I can leave." She didn't notice his clanmates staring at him. While waiting for an answer, she turned around and stared straight at Redstrike, giving him a look that said, 'back off'. He quickly turned away and talked to another she-cat.

Shadowheart stared at her for a couple moments as she suddenly asked, quite bluntly, what it was that was bothering him. He wasn't used to hearing any cat asking such a question, expressing any sort of concern or worry for him. Because of this, he felt worried that, perhaps, this was some sort of attempt to draw information from him.
Biting his lip, still feeling the hard stares of clanmates, he realized he had to bring this conversation to a close if he wanted to save his pelt from being skinned back at camp. He opened his mouth to say something about needing to speak with someone else, but right then he heard the voice of a leader calling down to the cats for the Gathering to begin.
Sighing quietly, he didn't move away from the she-cat, simply settling down.

Rainfeather waited for Shadowheart to say something, but he just sat down. She felt as though most cats would have thought this action to be rude, but she instead felt a tinge of pity. She heard the yowl of one of the leaders and, like him, stayed where she was but sat down. Her blue eyes were shining in the night as she waited with expectation for the leaders to share news with the clans.

A muscular, largely-built and mean looking tom-cat, Nightstar, stood looking down, across the four clans gathered together. His eyes stopped and lingered for a few short seconds on Shadowheart, then briefly slipped towards Rainfeather, some sort of disdain within his gaze.
He turned his head away from them, clearing his throat and opening his mouth to speak. "Prey is still abundant in Shadowclan, even amidst the cold winds of Leaf-fall. The days will soon turn to Leaf-bare, but our cats remain strong and ready for its perils." He shut his mouth, delivering no more news of clan affairs, as was usual. He stepped back, letting the next leader take his place.
Shadowheart noticed the quiet murmurings of the clan cats around him as Nightstar finished speaking. His speech had been short and mainly uninformative, and cats were wondering why.

Rainfeather frowned when Nightstar's gaze landed on her. He creeped her out. She watched his speech with a cold glare. Next, Brackenstar from ThunderClan announced that his Clan was prosperous, and so did Loudstar from WindClan. She watched with admiration in her gaze as Sagestar, her leader, stepped forward. With her strong voice she announced, like the others, that everything was perfectly fine in RiverClan, which was true.
She soon realized that the gathering was coming to a close. She turned to Shadowheart and said, "It was great meeting you. I'd like to see you again." She had a cheerful smile on her face as she looked into his eyes, for once being able to meet a cat's gaze. She was normally too short to do so.

(thats okay)
"Uhh...wh-yeah, th..." He awkwardly stumbled over simple words, confused as she vocally stated what a pleasure it was to meet him. It seemed to him they had barely spoken, and he was worried this cat was just trying to be overly friendly, like his father had warned.
Then again, he was bothered by what his father had said. Perhaps he was letting those ideas dig too deeply into his head. Mom wouldn't...she wouldn't want me to be like that...
He awkwardly cleared his throat, meeting her eyes for a couple short seconds. "Well, um... Another time, I guess." he quietly responded, then dipped his head briefly to her.

Rainfeather dipped her head to Shadowheart as well. "Goodbye!" She chirped happily. She turned away from him and walked towards the group of RiverClan cats. She made sure to avoid Redstrike, who would surely question her about her interaction with a ShadowClan warrior. Her thoughts still lingered on the shy tom even while engaged in conversation with another she-cat from her clan.

(Sure)
Shadowheart felt rather the same way as he approached his clan once again, feeling several pairs of eyes upon him as he re-approached them. He tried not to look nervous or suspicious, knowing this would prompt the huge wave of interrogative questions.
Nonetheless, as they padded back, he noticed the wave of whispers and murmurs among his clanmates. Perhaps they were discussing the other clans. Perhaps they were discussing the weather. But Shadowheart didn't believe that. They were talking about him.

Rainfeather was towards the back of the RiverClan group as they made it back to camp. Most would be going back to sleep by now, tired from being up all night. The she-cat looked up at the moon, full and bright in the dark sky. Its light illuminated her blue eyes as she veered away from the entrance to RiverClan. She wasn't tired, and so decided to take a walk.
"Rain, where are you going?" She turned around to see Redstrike looking at her, as if he was sad she was leaving. "I'm just going for a walk. Don't worry, I'll be fine." She told him with a small smile. He seemed a bit resentful about her leaving, but let her go with no other comments. He knew he couldn't' change her mind.
Rainfeather continued to walk, not really paying attention to the direction she was going. Her small paws hardly made a sound on the soft grass surrounding her. Her thoughts wandered from Redstrike to fish to that mysterious tom she met. She was so caught up in her thoughts she hadn't noticed how close she was to the ShadowClan border.

Shadowheart gave a quiet, tired sigh as the clan mulled towards the camp as a group, the murmuring and whispering continuing on the whole way. He was happy, though, that no one seemed to be interrogating him about the cat he had been speaking to. He could see the looks on their faces and the suspicion in their gazes.
Once he reentered the camp, his mood immediately changed. The clan had spread out to the edges of camp, and Nightstar sat at the far end of camp, staring at him. Letting out a gulp, he met the eyes of his leader, feeling the impending doom of the moment.
Nightstar's tail lashed behind him in different directions as he watched Shadowheart entering the camp, last in behind the rest of his clanmates. "Shadowheart," His deep and powerful voice conveyed his total lack of patience and empathy, and he could see the legs of the young warrior beginning to shake. "We all noticed something interesting tonight. And I would like to remind you what I said." He slowly began approaching, taking slow, deliberate, threatening steps.
When he was a few tail-lengths away, the warrior suddenly lunged forward, pulling his claws out and slashing deep into the chest of the small warrior, letting out a furious yowl as he did so, drowning out the yowl of pain from Shadowheart. "I told you, specifically, to speak to no one! I let you come because I thought you could handle being around other cats, but I see I was completely wrong!" The leader was enraged, losing control of himself. He sheathed his claws for a few brief moments, looking down at his paws, then pulled his claws out again, lashing to swipe at the cat once more; but, Shadowheart had turned tail and run from the camp.
Shadowheart pelted away from the camp, his chest stinging bitterly from the deep claw wounds the leader had so suddenly inflicted on him. He had known from the dispersion of cats that something was off, but he had in no way expected to be hurt like this.
Pelting on, he didn't come to a stop until he was panting for breath, and even that was difficult, given his chest wound harshly stinging each time he took in or let out his breath. He didn't realize how close he was to the border.

Rainfeather stopped in her tracks when she heard rustling on the other side of the border. Was someone coming to attack her? She dropped low to the ground, ready to pounce on the potential enemy. The she-cat heard loud panting, and a dark figure was running towards her. She bunched up her haunches, ready to pounce when she recognized those eyes. Standing straight up once more, Rainfeather asked, "Shadowheart? Is that you?" She could smell fear and... blood? She rushed over to him, not caring about the border. "What happened?!" She gasped as she saw the red wound on his chest.

Shadowheart jumped back in fear as he suddenly heard the she-cat call out to him, not having realized that he was approaching so close to the border or that any cat happened to be nearby. He let out an instinctive, scared hiss and his fur puffed up, clearly showing that fear.
Taking a step back, he took in the virw of the she-cat, immediately remembering her from the Gathering. "N-no, I-I-I'm fine," he realized immediately that his leader was going to be angry about the she-cat seeing him this way.

Rainfeather took a more stubborn route this time with Shadowheart. "No, you are not fine. Tell me what happened or I'm going to drag you back to Leafeyes! (The med cat)" Her blue eyes looked at him with ferocity. She was just trying to help him, and she was being pushed away because of it.

Shadowheart's eyes widened with fear and he suddenly barked out in alarm in response to what she had said. "No! You can't do that! IF you do that, I am going to be in bad trouble!" He seemed very scared of another clan's medicine cat seeing to his wounds, but didn't seem to realize the irony of saying he was 'going to be in trouble,' being that he was already panicked, running from his camp, and bleeding.

Rainfeather's eyes were wide, noticing his wound was still bleeding. "I'm serious, Shadowheart! Just, please, come with me! I'll make sure you're safe, I promise." She wound forward and began to nudge him. She rooted her paws to the ground, making sure she was stable.
