Saltbreeze knew, somehow, that someone had seen her. No point hiding anymore, she thought, and she tried to leave the den casually. She was still embarrased, of course, but she felt just a bit better.
Saltbreeze padded along the beach, the warm sand smearing over her paws with every step. The sun was blazing, and Saltbreeze desperately wanted to get somewhere where it wasn’t so hot. Still, she trotted over to the shore, and took care to not let the seawater get close to her upper legs. In the water, she could see a few dark outlines. She stared intently at these for a minute, before slapping a paw in to grab one. After a while, she took her paw out. It was empty. Oops, I missed.

Seems like my roleplay mode is active again Username (not screen name): shinystone Cat's name: Shallowpaw (Shallowreef in the future) Rank: Apprentice Age: 6 moons (Just apprenticed) Description: An amber eyed maine coon with long, soft grey fur, white underbelly and paws and darker grey stripes. Personality(PM me the personality! It will not appear in Allegiances): Ok Skills: Good for a young swimmer, fast runner, good with socializing Flaws: Can be ignorantly harmful , often annoying in conversations, not the best at keeping out of trouble Mate/Crush: - Kits: -Family: Found by the seaside as a very young kit Backstory: (Based on PacificClan experiences) Shallowpaw spent her kittyhood fascinating over colourful shells and had often tried to sneak out of the nursery to explore the camp. She always dreamed of explorations and adventures, and was very excited to hear the announcement of finnaly becoming an apprentice. A few nights before, Shallowkit couldn't keep her patience and managed to sneak out of the nursery and explore the cave entrance. It was there when she got attacked by what seemed to be a rather poisonous crab. She was, however, found in time by her clanmates just as the crab attacked her (right) ear. She got heavily scolded for her little ''adventure'' and almost had her ceremony delayed. She gained a small scar on her ear that she always thought of as a proud sign of a true adventurer. Other (optional): Shallow used to be my character in an old roleplay, in a clan called PacificClan, hench the sea-themed name from there. Picture (optional): Attachments:

Making his way out into the water as well, Eelstripe made sure not to disrupt the training session going on not far off as he took in air and dived down away from the warmer water near the sun touched surface, his shadowy pelt seeming to melt into the shifting shadows of the sea. Kicking out with powerful legs to draw him deeper down where he saw rays of sunlight slant across silvery scales, there were many small, schooling fish here and the old and familiar prickle of mistrust traveled his spine. Common knowledge dictated that while schools of herring were a plentiful and easily catch-able fish for Seaclan, the same went for other predators in the sea. Finding himself in the middle of some shark's feeding frenzy would be unfortunate, granted the last sighting of a shark anywhere near the clan's hunting grounds was at least a moon ago. Still, he kept what senses that could be usable underwater alert.
After a few missed grabs, he finally sank his fangs into the head of one of the slim, silver little nuisances and jolted towards the surface. Breaking out to open air, he kept his jaws clamped on the herring as he padded back onto the beach with his pelt hanging down around him like black seaweed.

Quailmask was bored. Though she often found herself in this position. Unable to hunt in the oceans, or on land, she paused from her activity of sinning herself and considered to walk down the beach. She would always mark where the furthest she had reached was using a chalky shell to put an “X” in the cliff side, the furthest she had gone left her barely in view of the caves, however, this time she felt instead, like searching the tide pools for a few seagreens, and taking them around a corner to eat them un-judged. So, she did just that, padding past eelstyipe and nodding politely in his direction.

Nettletooth
Nettletooth could see Eelstripe as he swam up for air with a fish clamped in his jaws. He knew his sister liked him, too. Quickly, he swam up with a small fish in his teeth, threw it to Shellfang, who caught it,and called out "EELSTRIPE!!!!!! COME HEEEEERE!!!" Yes, he was quiet most of the time, but he was happy to be loud when it was funny!
Shellfang
Shellfang's reflex was to catch the fish that was thrown to her, and she quickly laid it down with the two others. Suddenly, she heard Nettletooth scream for Eelstripe. "Nettletooth! What are you doing?!" she hissed at him.

Quailmask snickered at the sight before her, laughter and amusement bubbling in her throat as Shellfang fumbled to catch a fish and Nettletooth SCREAMED Eelstripe's name the way she herself would scream to alert the clan of a fire, she padded away just a little faster than she should have, as she immediately tripped over her own paws and burst into laughter as she shook sand off from all over her face and chest (i need to draw this scene XD) (...but first i need to draw reference images for Shellfang and Nettletooth ; - ; )

(Sorry for the guest post, I didn't want to get out of bed)
Eelstripe's fur attempted to stand on end, weighed down by salty water as it was when a loud, frantic voice called to him. Looking to where the source of the noise had come from, he saw Nettlethorn (can't see previous posts to confirm name) and his sister stand further up the beach. No one yowled that loud for no reason, dropping the fish and giving his waterlogged body one hard shake that sent heavy droplets up into the air around him, the dark coated Seaclan warrior rushed over.
As he came to a stop in front of the two siblings, his head swayed to glance both of them over. No one seemed hurt or distressed, at least not physically.
"Is something wrong? Do you need me to get Quailmask?" The alarmed light had left his eyes, replaced by a slight squint of suspicion leveled at both siblings. That was a perfectly good fish that was now covered in sand that he had dropped!

Nettletooth
Nettletooth could see the worry, then suspicion in Eelstripe's eyes. "Ah sorry, didn't mean to frighten you. We just have something to ask." Nettletooth looked back at his sister, silently urging her on. Talk to him!
Shellfang
Shellfang realized it was her turn to talk. "Oh, um, do you want to uh, hunt with us? We could work better as a team..." Shellfang never stuttered like that. What was wrong with her today?

FallStream wanted to swim into the deeper part of the water. She knew she could hunt well there. She went to a spot and dived. She got to the bottom and her leg started acting weird she thought nothing of it and got a couple fish, she realized something wasn't weird. It was wrong. She felt her leg get heavy and she swam quickly to the surface. She started sinking after a few breaths from her fur being damp holding her down and one of her legs not working correctly. She let out a loud new before being consumed into the warmth of the water fighting the currents to get to the sand. She almost reached the sand when she stopped moving, she was alive but sitting in the water mouth up in the water floating. ' I must be in a salty part ' she thought and she quickly got on the sand just in time so she could breath " I WAS SO CLOSE TO FISH " she yowled angirly but knowing she couldn't go back dragged herself to the warrior den drenched ( like usual )

Quailmask padded over to Fallstream and helped her get the salt off her, muttering under her breath the whole time, as she usually did when in deep focus. giving Fallstream the all clear, she padded around the corner and bigan quietly eating some seagreens.

Sorry guys, slept all yesterday and was busy today) (everyone is accepted who submitted an application! srry to everyone that i respond at such odd times, i work overnight shifts so sleeping schedule is a mess Buttercup any warrior you particular want as a mentor?) Sharkstar Sharkstar's eyes flickered back and forth across the vast sea, "I'm not sure, but twolegs seem interested in whatever is out there," he angled his ears and motioned with his head towards a large black water monster that sat on the horizon. His gaze grew distant for several moments as he got lost in the dazzling sight. The tom shook his head to clear his thoughts and focus, "I'd like to see you fish," he meowed to the apprentice, glancing over at a spot several fox lengths away where the black silhouette of a fish darted further away from the shore.

Finally! Saltbreeze had pulled out a nice, fat mackerel. It would be her first and only catch, as Saltbreeze's paws were tired out for the day. She lifted the surprisingly heavy fish her jaws. Mackerels were typically small, but this one was larger than average. It would make a nice meal. Saltbreeze slithered away from the shore before getting herself up. Presently, she headed for camp, in which she put her catch with the fresh-kill. Perfect. But then came the contemplating of what to do next. She could go outside, but if Sharkstar saw her, she had no idea what she would do. Or, she could stay inside. That would be awfully boring. Suddenly, an idea sparked to life. Saltbreeze sprinted into the warrior's den. She padded over to her bed, and very carefully moved it to the side. There, under it, was a tunnel. I'll be seeing you soon, Sandtooth! That was what went through her head as she dived into the tunnel, closed the "hatch", and went on her way.

The sound of the medicine cat's laughter had just now registered with Eelstripe, his mind had narrowed in on the voice calling his name and he hadn't even noticed Quailmask's presence until she had gone. As Nettletooth explained his reasoning for breaking the sound barrier, or rather handed off the breakdown to his sister, Eelstripe curved his tail into a lazy arc as if in thought. He HAD just given the herring a crunchy, not so delicious sandy exterior when he dropped it. But it WAS Nettletooth's fault that had happened to begin with...still, he would have to replace the prey somehow. Shellfang seemed on edge, the usually self assured molly sounded almost shakey, maybe they still needed Quailmask if she was feeling ill?
"I guess my last catch is inedible now, so I don't really have much choice" He briefly flicked back his ears in annoyance, then gave a sigh of acceptance. "Where were you two planning to hunt?"
